Make Heart Rate Data export in Excel/CSV format

Please add the heart rate data to the reports that can be downloaded/exported.  The ones for the activity and sleep are perfect but since I have a pacemaker I really need to have one to print out for my cardiologist showing how often I rise above the set pace.

Thank you

Sorry people.  Fitbit clearly don't want to give us access to our data.  Even if you throw money at them for premium which I just did and surprise, still no option.

I'd be interested in knowing more about how you're able to capture that data. But not today. I'm up to my ears in things that MUST be attended to for several days. Yvonne LaRose, CAC

Yep, I just previewed premium and this is one of two things stopping me from paying for it. This can't be hard, Fitbit, and you're losing my money because of it.

Bugger, wish I had read this forum post before I purchased my FitBit Surge. It's a given that HR data is what most people are interested in. The fact that I haven't seen any proper response from Fitbit other that "We are working on it" is rather worrying. How diffucult is it to get a data dump, you already capture it in your graphs?

Should have got a Microsoft Band 2.

I definately won't be recommending this to any of my friends.

COME ON FITBITTTTTTT !!!!!

RESPOND TO PEOPLE AND GIVE US A DATE WHEN YOU WILL SORT THIS OUT !!!!!

It is bad marketing when you create a device that measures Heart Rate, but do not allow the user to download "ALL" of the data. As a software engineer I know it is not difficult to take the data you already have and make it available from the PC/MAC appplication where the data resides. Please do not hesitate and make it available to your customers.

You are missing a marketing opportunity by ding so. "Heart Health".

I too agree that the ability to export HR data is important. Many doctors want patients to track their own HR to help them (the doctors) identify abnormalities. Plus, it just makes sense that the Charge HR should have this capability. Thanks for considering.

Dear Geek, thank you for responding. Hopefully your cohorts will move on this. I just purchased a Charge HR for my wife for Xmas, only so she can get some HR info (limited as it is). Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy/Safe New Year. Walt.

Thanks for the response. It just isn't logical that HR data can't be exported when other activities can be. Hopefully fitbit will develop this! Merry Christmas!

I am really surprised that FitBit does not yet support the export of detailed heartrate data or exercise session data.  To me, this is the most important data that a FitBit is generating and I fully expected it would be available as part of the premium service.  While the data is presented quite well on the dashboard, FitBit needs to establish some way to summarize the data so that it can be downloaded.  Some reduction in data resolution would be fine in exchange for having access to the data.  This is not a complex problem to solve - which is why I was so surprised to find no support for it at this time.

I considered buying one Fitbit for Quantified Self, but not being able to download granular data is a clear turning down point.

I posted just to know if this changes in the future because I really want to have a Fitbit WITH my data.

I saw MapleHill's post earlier today and rejoiced that I now would have a way to export the HR data - as Fitbit promotes - 'it’s your data'.

I've owned my Surge Since May and was disappointed when I began to understand that I couldn't get to my HR data via exporting. The original feature request in this forum goes back to January of 2015. Could this lack of interest and communications in satisfying users concerns have anything to do the publics loss of interest in Fitbit Stock? It's down for a high of 47 to a close of 29.50 on Friday.

My experience in the industry confirms that companies that mislead ("it's your data") and are not responsive to customer requests are doomed. Today’s clients have too many competitive alternate options. Here’s hoping they listen and respond – any response will be appreciated, but the fact that there has been no communication of the feature for almost a year is not encouraging.

Just bought myself a Garmin Vivosmart HR, the new one that came out a month ago. Lots better. Does everything the Fitbit Charge HR does AND you can export the HR as CSV.

Can't change the graph scales, though, but they say it is coming soon.

Perhaps I will now give the fitbit back to the retailer, money back guaranteed within the month.

Is it a watch too?  The Garmin web site shows no images of a watch screen, and I downloaded the manual and didn't see any mention of it telling time too.  Am I missing something?  Nice that it can export though.

It does seem clear that the Fitbit WebAPI gives access to the detailed heart rate data, and for personal use only they will provide a key.  To write a program for others to use, you have to undergo a review.  Unfortunately I'm not yet up to speed with web programming, and I suspect it is beyond the skill set of most Fitbit users.  So I wrote the Parse Heart Rate program which works for me within the limitations of the data exposed on the Dashboard.

What is the granularity you are able to export with the Garmin?

I am experiencing the same issue. I have 3 galaxy phones and a windows 8 computer and I can see sleep details and heart rate details on all of them but on my daughters iphone 6 phone and my 2 windows 10 computers you can only see the basic avg heart rate infor and basic sleep info. How do you see the detailed info? Does anyone know?

This is very weird for Fitbit to have done.

Now the HR info/data is not available in any format: Resting HR; or min-min. That is a horrible thing to have done. The reason for paying the extra money for a Charge HR is to get the HR data. So somehow in your infinitesimally small wisdom, rather than providing access to the Min-Min HR data, you decide to remove access to all HR data. Resting HR is the least valuable data, but it was data non-the less.

Wow.  I find it hard to believe that a product labled "HR" for heart rate doesn't provide the HR data for download.  Fortunately, I have only had the CHARGE HR for a few days and can return it for a full refund.  Let me know when you make a device that does what it claims!!!  Then I will buy it again.

I also bought the ChargeHR so that I could track my heart rate for my cardiologist. As a software developer, I understand that making this data available would not be difficult.

Fitbit's failure to make this data available stems from one of the following;

  1. there are problems capturing the detail data (not enough storage on the device)
  2. the data captured has problems (inaccurate or inconsistant) and isn't obvious if only the summary data is displayed
  3. the data is being sold.

 Their marketing is blatantly dishonest!

Please add this feature. Exporting HR data is important to me. Since all data looks te be captured already I dont understand how difficult it can be to make available.

Please add a feature that exports heart rate data to activity apps like virgin pulse so I can get credit for my workouts.

Another vote for exporting detailed heart rate data - not just resting rate. Your dashboard already displays graphs of the data for us, which indicates it is available in an easy-to-graph format. Frankly, I should not have to write my own program and mess with APIs just to get raw data on *my own* heart rate that the tracker already collects. Further, this should be available to *everyone*, not just those using the paid service.

Would appreciate ability to download My Heart Rate data.  Important to my exercise routines and tracking improvement.
