The same thing happened to me, Fitbit don't seem to care. It is a shame, Fitbit used to be a customer focused company, the buy out by Google has changed that.
Having spoken to Fitbit on various channels they basically don't care. 2 year wait for early adopters before we can see our fitbit community again. Unbelievably appalling customer care.
Google have deliberately mislead me/everyone about switching to a Gmail account. They sent an email explaining all the benefits BUT not once did they explain you would lose all your friends and family until 2025 or until they also switched. I used to trust Google above all other tech companies. Not any more. Very poor misleading way to treat your
I think it would be very helpful if you could mix the Fitbit account and Google account in order for us to see our family and friends until everyone has to migrate to google in 2025
Agree there was no disclosure about losing friends in the transfer and I'm quite angry/disappointed. Now I'm waiting until 2025 to have friends again unless they migrate early? Along with eliminating the "step streak" notifications and breaking hourly goal metrics, you're chipping away at the motivational components that make fitbit worthwhile over just using my phone in my pocket as a pedometer.
I agree 100% it’s not even worth using the Fitbit anymore. I got one because my family has them and it was great motivation to try and beat them every week. Now that I can’t see them anymore the motivation is gone in
I lost my Fitbit friends when I switched to Google log in. Really disappointed. I’m in my 5th Fitbit device because they only last about 2 years I might just stop using Fitbit and just use my 3rd Apple Watch.

Please could you enable the find friends feature for Google account holders. I used to be on Strava but switched to a Fitbit Dec 2023 for the better device, but then I discovered find friends simply would not work. This is a major feature I used on Strava, and was advertised as a capability on Fitbit.
I’ve seen answers to this question back in 2023, with notes from developers that Google is aware of the problem and will deal with it soon. It has been over a year now since that last one that I saw. When are we going to be able to see friends who have not migrated yet?

I was prompted to change my Fitbit account over to Google and now cannot see the step counts of my jon-Google friends. I would compete against them for the weekly top spot and now they steps can't be counted until they move to a Google account. Change it back! If they've agreed to be my friend on Fitbit, I should have full access to them, period.
The new Google Fitbit does not allow this. When they toasted the charge 5 with that firmware update, they offered discounts to buy a new one. Once I made the purchase, I couldn’t set it up unless I let go of my Fitbit acct and set it up on Google. The non Google walking buddies I had before could no longer see my stats. It was suggested to me to get these partners to set up Google acct sign ins as well. With the Google sign in came the useless new sleep program, so the new Fitbit is useless. Sent from my iPad
You could convince your friends to switch over. (unlikely, I haven't been able to convince my 3 siblings and 4 cousins) or wait until the ability to log in through an email is shutdown, forcing them to switch
