Make sleep score optional

Suggested idea is to have the sleep score optional !

We should be able to choose if we have the score or not , I hate feeling like I failed my sleep!

I signed up just to make this comment:  I HATE SLEEP SCORE.  It produces such unnecessary sleep anxiety, and doesn't that go against the healthy mind and body Fitbit wants us to attain?  My target sleep is 7 hours per night.  I have reached that goal four out of the past five nights, which I'm happy with -- yet only one of those nights was rated as "good."  The rest are just "fair."  WHY?  I don't need my FitBit judging me and scoring me every night.  I'll be due for a new tracker in not too long, so if this doesn't change to an option and not a requirement, I'll be dropping FitBit...

A huge reason I stay with Fitbit is for the sleep tracking. I find this new sleep score to be highly inaccurate and I receive "good" sleep scores on nights where I know for a fact that I slept horribly. Fitbit shouldn't tell us how well we sleep, we know this ourselves. We just want to know how much we slept. But now the information I really care about is hidden. I also miss the stat of how long it took me to fall asleep.

We don't need to be scored. Just give us our stats.

YES!  Please please please bring back the ability to see average number of sleep hours!  Sleep score means nothing to me!  I've had a fitbit since 2016 and like to see how my average hours of sleep compares year to year, month to month, etc.

I don’t have anything new to add, but I am commenting here so that Fitbit can see how many users are unhappy enough with this feature to post a comment (something I normally never do!).

Like many other users, I find this new feature judgmental and demoralizing (not to mention inaccurate). One of the main reasons I bought my Fitbit was to track heart rate and sleep patterns based on heart rate for my health. But I want information, not shaming or policing. I have stopped wearing my Fitbit at night, so it’s of much less value and use to me now.

Time to switch to a new company and a new device, unless Fitbit takes action on this soon.

Just got off a chat asking Fitbit how to get the old sleep view back and was told to post & vote here in the hopes of seeing some change. How disappointing! I’ve owned 4 Fitbits and bought the AltaHR specifically for the sleep data. If this isn’t changed, I’ll be buying my next wearable from a competitor.

Having now had 5 Fitbit products each, making 10 in total with the latest one being an ionic each and very happy and motivated by each in their own way, we are now making the costly decision (as the ionics are just a few months old) of going elsewhere. It’s sad but we have to put our health first. My wife already has an alternative (she had a heart attack so most important) and I am saving up for one for me. Done with you Fitbit, 2 loyal customers gone. Don’t think we will be the last ones.....

When are you going to listen FitBit! It is not wanted! Make sleep score optional-now!

@SallyHat leaving a 1 star app review is likely to be faster.

There's nothing quite as depressing as being told, day after day, that one's sleep is merely "good."  The sleep score is an awful way to start the day.

Please turn off the sleep score feature!!!

Another longtime user who hates the Sleep Score.

Will add my 1 rating to Amazon.

The sleep score needs to be optional if it even needs to exist at all.

It's arbitrary and seems to have no correlation to my sleep graph or how rested I feel after waking up. It's annoying to wake up feeling like I slept very well and feeling refreshed only to look at the sleep data and see a score showing 75 Fair. The score is absolutely meaningless!

I had commented about a month ago. 1. First, what I find most appalling, is that Fitbit says "people hate it or love it" while ignoring that huge numbers of people absolutely loathe it. 2. It doesn't make me anxious, because I don't view it as valid. I got about 4 hours one night and that was fair (shouldn't that be poor?) last night I got almost 9 with only 9% awake and decent deep and REM, still only good. It's all about the sleeping heart rate which is only available as a premium feature. Hmmmm.

As a very long time owner with Fitbit Charge and Charge 2 and more, I want to turn off the sleep score and go back to the old weekly average.

It is crazy that we can't do that.  I don't care about the sleep score at all, I want the app the way it was before.   Please listen to the customers as we know what we want.

The main reason I have a fitbit is because of the sleep tracking feature.  We may abandon Fitbit if we don't get the old feature back.

Being graded on my sleep does not help me sleep. I live with chronic pain and I don't need a judgemental red circle with the word "Bad" in it telling me how BAD it was last night. Trust me, I already know. All I want to see is the numbers: how many hours slept and how much time I spent in each stage. Increasing my hours slept is an achievable, empowering goal. The thought of trying to achieve some nebulous "good job" makes me sick with sadness and anxiety.

Hi @Wunmi, thanks for explaining why you would like to have this option. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has a lot of votes. As the more votes and comments an idea has the more visibility and momentum it gains. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs.

Hi @Korok. Thanks for explaining why you would like to have an option to turn off the sleep score with us! I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". You can check this other suggestion here. Keep adding your suggestions!

How about just doing it instead of all this “we have placed it under consideration”?

I agree that is a lot of commentary. Too bad all they ever do is put it under consideration.

I’m glad the optional sleep score is being considered. I don’t find it particularly useful and would rather keep the sleep time and make my own assessment of my sleep. Please do give us the option soon.
