Make sleep score optional

Suggested idea is to have the sleep score optional !

We should be able to choose if we have the score or not , I hate feeling like I failed my sleep!

Now they're just trolling.  "What's that?  You hate sleep score?  Have even more of it!"  Glad I at least don't have that crappy model.

If you're on Android, just "downgrade" your app to version 3.2.  You'll be much happier for it.

Got any links for the old version please ?

Does anyone from fitbit even looks at the comments here ??

They can't be bothered to ever reply.

@Russell_UK: I've posted it before  (and they don't allow direct links to any of these websites) but google a_p_k_pure.com without the underscores.  This post will be deleted in t minus 10... 9... 8...

Got it thanks 🙂

The mods wont be on here just yet - they will be too worried about getting their precious sleep score increased 🙂

@Russell_UK: Np, you may also want to turn off auto-updating for that particular app, otherwise you'll just keep getting this hot garbage.

Yes will do 🙂

@lifebmad  @Russell_UK  As users who paid for our devices, which is an implied contract  at time of sale, how sad we can find a work around. Unfortunately, I had to purchase a new phone and can't afford to jump ship. I'm unable to get older version for this device.

Biggest concern is that the buyer will sell our information to the highest bidder. Enough already!

The one time I have found a problem solved due to complaints it took them 5 years to implement!

It's so frustrating to see bland responses from moderators about "oh we will consider that" for MONTHS ON END. Make the F%^$ sleep score optional so I can change it on my dashboard. It didn't used to be there, so it should be simple.  I'm continuing to get dozens of notifications each week of other people who want this. This is a serious FAILURE on your part.

Not sure what's kept my email smoking away more this week.. Sleep score replies, or black Friday spam..

Something else I've noticed being more of an issue with SS.. If you get a no-score night (I do a lot), then it has no impact on your weekly average. Whick is obviously dumber than a box of zunes.

@lifebmad - it would not let me install the earlier version 😞

@Russell_UK Google how to sideload a_p_k files (without the underscores - you're not even allowed to mention these file types, lol).

Life has enough pressure and competition as it is, I certainly do not need my SLEEP being judged! My goodness, who thought this up? It's awful! At least if some people want it but others don't, make it an option. I not only do not need to SCORE my sleep like it's a life test, it was thrust on me without my opting in. I'm glad Google bought you, I hope they help make the software a lot more user friendly (like finally making the awful milestone buzz an option as well, that has been a popular complaint for a long time).

Totally agree with everyone here.  Huge step backwards Fitbit!  I actually started looking at other devices I hate it so much.  Great way to start your day, not!  Why is the fix taking so long?  Please fix soon!

I absolutely hate “sleep score”. I found the avg time slept info so much more valuable and I don’t like the fact I can’t turn “sleep score” off or at least personalize my dashboard so I can display avg hours slept as my default. My Fitbit watch is getting old and I can promise i’ll be switching Fitness watch brands soon if there isn’t an app update. I was disappointed to see customers have been complaining about this since July and nothing has been done.

Reasons to remove it or have a choice to display it as a secondary measure only:

* From experience it is a bad measure of how I feel the next day.

* It is not an objective number measured but something derived by an undisclosed formula. In the same way I prefer to see my number of steps than the distance if distance is just  computed as steps*stride and not actually measured via gps.

* It's not even clear what this number is meant to represent. There are many objectives in sleep patterns such as regularity, length, good proportion of deep vs rem sleep, etc. Which one does the fitbit score represent? If you even want to be able to improve the score you need to know what's in it.

Exactly! Yes my sister is also one of them !! What a silly thing to force us to see! They need to make it an option as soon as possible. Up until now I've removed the sleep screen together when I'm sadly swinging some points of failure as soon as I wake up: disappointed_face: thanks for making me feel so bad about the friend who was sleeping so badly. terrified

Completely hate it. Everyone is different and no 2 people conform to same
sleep pattern. Various factors cometo mind , type ofwork, shift patterns,
medication etc. Make sleep score optional or remove it completely as it is
stressful.

I’m really unhappy with Fitbit for a number of reasons:

- They just took away the hours slept info which was a reason for me to buy a Charge2.

- They sit on my data, obviously claiming ownership to it. Not customer friendly and a very oldfashioned proprietary policy.

- They deleted my previous post!

- They seems to be completely deaf to customer’s complaints.

I have left Fitbit in favour of Apple. A quick comparison:

Fitbit wins: Battery life, much better.

iWatch wins: Everything else. I really like the AutoSleep app. No account or uploads, just local data.

Just stopping in after many weeks/months to see if there has been any progress here, and I see there has not. This is not just disappointing, it is stressful and frustrating to not get a clear response and/or a decision from FitBit on this.

I, too, have purchased an Apple Watch. The series 3 was affordable, and I am using the free sleepwatch app. But I can't go into detail here and compare it to my FitBit or my comment will be deleted (it's already happened once). But I will say this:  Yes, the FitBit battery life is definitely better, but with the watch I can easily see my sleep hours and averages - and I don't get a sleep score! I still have my Insprire HR, and I'd like to return to wearing it, at least occasionally, it because it is smaller and lighter on my small wrist which I like a lot (especially for sleeping!).  The primary reason I switched from the Blaze to the Versa and then to the Inspire was that I wanted something smaller.

I have been a FitBit customer since the company launched - I started with the One - but I will bag FitBit all together unless the sleep score goes away. I am just waiting to see "Under Consideration" change to a clear yes or no, and it has now been months.

How hard is it to not have this score on the primary screen? Or provide an option that allows hiding it entirely?

Totally agree. Not a big job I would have thought! Everybody I know hates it

I suspect that now they've sold to Google no changes will take place at all until the new owner gets to grips and then we'll see some changes. My fear is that these will mostly be around premium services and the included services will become more and more useless/irritating.

Sleep score has no scientific basis. It's unclear how it's calculated and un validated. It also grades older people as poorer sleepers, even though we sleep less as we get older. Menopausal women will be more likely to have low sleep scores and that isn't helpful. All the data we needed were displayed without this useless 'score'. The comparison with others in the same age group is useful. Please make sleep score optional.

Well, I've made the jump.

After waiting for 6 months (+) for fitbit to acknowledge this issue with something other than canned responses, I have finally made the change to samsung galaxy watch.

I have been a faithful fitbit user since 2012. I am shocked at the recent disregard for loyal fitbit customers. I have had my galaxy for a week and I am so happy with it. There are some things that I still like better about the fitbit, but not nearly enough to excuse their complete disregard for customers.

From the company that started off as a paragon of customer service, fitbit has fallen further than I would have thought possible. I will watch to see how the Google take-over plays out, but I doubt it could ever redeem this disappointment that I feel.
