I don't think this solution covers other use cases pointed out by other users though, like rain or shower. For example, every time I have a shower wearing my Fitbit Sense the water activates the screen and it usually changes settings or starts activities. I would like to have a way to enable the Water Lock mode manually, like I understand can be done on the Inspire 2.
Of course if this could be detected and the watch just didn't respond to water that would be even better but I understand that can be harder to achieve.
indeed, I think a water lock would be very useful when taking a shower, etc... I have the Fitbit Versa 3, but I don't see myself starting a swimming exercise every time I'm taking a shower.
In addition, a manual screen lock would be the best solution in my opinion.
Agreed! I stepped in the shower and my Sense completely freaked out and restarted on its own. I'm afraid of what it'll do when I go swimming this summer.
The swim mode is not very practical. I wear my sense while I'm in my pool, not actually swimming. I put it in swim mode and then have to go into the app to delete the session. It's ridiculous - my Inspire 2 worked perfectly. You would think the Sense, which was more than twice the price, would be superior. There really needs to be a manual water lock feature.
I agree. I just got my sense and even though websites state there is a way to activate manual water lock it seems that feature does not exist. please add it.
Please Please Please... add the lock to the Versa 3 too. You can't do boxing, wear a heavy sleeve, shower (!) without it turning on or adjusting settings. I updated my watch thinking this was a given it would exist in such a new version. Extremely disappointed. You will lose faithful customers over this.
I also upgraded. I went from a Versa 2 to a Versa 3 thinking that such a basic feature would be included. I was very disappointed. The Versa 3 is useless for boxing and CrossFit. These are my two forms of exercise. I am very disappointed. I've used fitbit trackers for over 10 years. I'm not sure my next watch will be a fitbit. There are lots of good alternatives these days.
Please, please, please enable a manual water lock separate from swimming. I do a lot of walking and other exercise in the pool that is NOT swimming, and I deserve to get those steps.
As importantly, it drains my battery! This is such an obvious feature. Please enable the screen lock independently.
Fitbit, this should be a standard feature, especially for your flagship devices. This comes as standard even for the kids Ace 3 device. Why can't it be made available for all your devices with an update?
I’ve just upgraded to a Sense 2 from a Versa 2. Right now I want my old one back. Every time I shower it starts and activity and changes settings. It’s also far harder to use.
The button on the VERSA 3 is ridiculous sensitive. The fact that there is no way to lock the watch so that water, a sweaty wrist, etc. can't activate the button is crazy! When weightlifting or boxing, my bent wrist or damp gloves stop my activity tracking about half the time because there is no way to lock the watch. This is the last fitbit I will own unless they fix this problem.
I agree. It’s ridiculous that lower tier and old models are better. It’s sad how fitbit quality has degraded so much since it was acquired. Hopefully you can implement the water lock soon to the sense series.
As a software developer myself, this should be a standard feature on all fitbit watches. C'mon guys. This should be embarrassing. Don't you even test your watches in the water and see them go crazy?!? This is very upsetting.
