Manual entry of Stairclimber (add floors/distance)

The Fitbit doesn't register floors climbed on Steppermills and Stair Masters.

It would be great if we could manualy add floors to our daily totals.

Obviously we are already adding steps / calories / active minutes from doing the exercise... just want to add the floors.

Thanks

Thank you for your contribution @Iekika! I believe that this suggestion it's a great idea. I will gladly send your request to our developer team so they can take it into consideration.

Happy stepping!

I also would like to edit my floors! The fitbit misses my elevation by at least 30% on every hike I do. I hiked Mt Rainier and it missed over 200 flights! When you hike that kind of thing, you want credit for it!!

The miles calculated by steps and stairs both are inaccurate.  I go up and down the stairs in our house and it doesn't calculate everytime.  It shows less times up and down the stairs than I actually do.  Thanks Fitbit

Much like with food or weight or activity, floors climbed should be able to be edited. Today, my Fitbit charge HR said I climbed 64 flights of stairs when I maybe did one or 2. I often take the elevator or escalator at work and it seems to count that. My concern is an inaccurate calorie burn number.

Everyone wants this, but FitBit aren't listening...

Should be as simple as;

Finish a Stairmaster session - it asks for stair count. You manually enter and it gets added to the workout metadata (and your daily tracking). at a push it logs a pace per floor too.

Same goes for Spinning,Treadmill and eliptical. It should request the km's at the conclusion of the workout. again logs a pace per km.

I use the stairmaster at the gym alot, and want to track my progress of a standard 150 flights o stairs - to benchmark and see im getting better times.

I just purchased a Fitbit Charge HR and today is my first day wearing it.   Went to the mall to walk.  It recorded my steps just fine, but said I climbed four floors!   I did not climb a single stair today, but I DID take two long escalators in the mall.   I want to EDIT this information on my dashboard and fix this mistake.   I came to this thread to find out how to do it, but I guess you're saying it's not possible?  That's really a bad oversight in design.  I should be able to go to the dashboard and correct this.  Fitbit, please fix this issue.

I also magically climb over 50 something floors plus everyday according to my charge. Funny thing is I have not taken 1 floor! FitBit really needs to add this as an edit feature to add/subtract floors as needed in the software...a pretty easy fix that would definetly help everyone out including the sale of their product. PLEASE FIX!!!!!!!

I have hidden "floors climbed" from my homepage on the app. Unfortunately there's no way to remove it from the device. Until the engineers figure out a way to let users edit it, it is a useless feature.

Thank you @CindyFitbit! I hope they are able to provide this feature in the future. 🙂

When using a treadmill, my Charge HR does not recognize the movement - because in actuality to the ground I am not moving anywhere! So, I typically then add the exercise either as walking or treadmill via the App. The thing that is missing in this is a calculation for the amount of stairs climbed. For example, if I spend 30 minutes, cover 2.2 miles of distance at a 3% incline, it is a simple calculation (using our high school geometry and trig!) to show that over 600' of elevation was covered in this session, or about 60 flights of stairs! (SIN(3)*2.2miles = .115 miles, or just over 600'). Normal running/walking/hiking outdoors with the Charge HR naturally records the elevation gains to calculate flights of stairs climbed.

Hi, I have the FitBit One and it would be great to be able to manually input floors on those occasions you may not have the device on you/when its not charged. Thanks

As a charge hr user, it bothers me when I walk down a flight of steps and it doesn't count. It only counts when you climb up. Also, when the Fitbit dies and I walk down the stairs multiple times, why do it again with the Fitbit on. That's why I think there should be a feature that allows you to manually add floors.

Hi everyone this is the first time I have ask anything. I would like to add floors to my total. I know what I did and why the surge did not count the correct number of floors. I have 3 to 4 % driveway and this distance has been 10 floors , but I was holding my phone to que in music and surge did not pick up the floor count. I tested this theory by doing the climb again plus a little extra for a total of 12 floors.Having my arms at my side. I would like to credit myself with the other 10. Long story . How can I do this? Thank you

I would like to be able to manually log floors too.  Sometimes the fitbit doesn't record the floors when I'm going up and down the basement stairs several times to get my daily floor goal.

I use the stair climber as part of my workout (with a weight vest). Being able to log this would help me keep track of my progress.

If Fitbit doesn't want to include this as a badge unlock or community leader board, that's fine (thought I don't understand why everyone should be pegged as a cheater). But PLEASE let me keep track of my personal achievements. Isn't that what this is device is designed to do???

I'd like to be able to manually enter the number of flights; I often use the stair tread climber at the gym but my fitbit doesn't register it because I am staying at the same elevation.

I just got crutches and live in a 3rd floor apartment.  Now I can NOT climb the stairs fast enough for them to count but it is much more work. I wish we could log them manually too.  It would also be nice to be able to remove floors we know came from weather.  PLEASE

I would also like to edit floors climbed to remove wrong readings. For example when using a lift or sometimes when it's windy and a change in air pressure gives false floors climbed

Can you add a manual input for stairs climbed? For example: from ground to my floor is 4 flights of 18 stairs. This might differ in other offices so a generic flight doesn't work. Also a delete button. After I ride my motorcycle, due to air pressure changes, it says I've climbed a mess load of flights. Thanks.

I did a challenging hike/climb that my phone's GPS recorded as 1300 feet. I forgot my fitbit as it has just need to be charged. Add my vote to those wanting to be able to add floors manually.

Is it possible on the next app update to add a manual add button for floors climbed so we can adjust for the times the charge does not register them
