Medical ID Wristbands/ICE (In Case of Emergency)

It would be a great idea to add the medical alert logo to the flex band in case of a medical emergency. Older adults today are living longer, more active lives than the generations before them. The medical alert symbol and information can be incorporated into a stylish watch or a bangle-type bracelet, among many other options.

Medical IDs give paramedics and health care providers a quick look at your medical history in an emergency. They usually include information about medical conditions, food or drug allergies, medical devices (such as a pacemaker), and medications. This data can also be in sync with your Smartphone.

I would love this as well. I get tired of wearing my bracelet and I always wear my watch.

I think a low profile silicon strip that could be easily slipped on would
be a great addition.

I wonder if HIPAA has some regulation on this type of thing?

@tlayman HIPAA only comes into play with medical professionals sharing your info. You putting it on a device/bracelet is fine.

@Karenw362 I love my RoadID! Fits right on my Blaze. I have the interactive version so I can keep it up-to-date with easily accessible health info if needed. I'm a first responder, and I always show it off to my colleagues. They're usually impressed.

Once again I was hoping to find a medical tag to go on my Fitbit.  What may be easier and cheaper - offer a band that has the Medical star on it - and on the inside at least the common medical emergencies.  I'm baffled as to why this hasn't been made available already - my husband hates wearing jewelry of any kind - this would at least make it easier for him.

Currently Road IF makes clips that attach to your Fitbit band.

This would be great for me, especially since I'd rather not wear both my fitbit AND medical alert bracelet.

Hi Fitbit,

I would really appreciate you adding an option for us to add a medical alert. I have a sulfa allergy, that is severe enough I've been hospitalized and almost died from being given the drug. I used to wear an alert bracelet, but now I wear your product. It would be a easy feature for you to add since you already have the devices text enabled. A little screen following our main screen would be a really great feature not just for me, but for hundreds of your users. Please consider adding this feature to your product. And maybe a band that has the alert symbol if that is something you can do. I know several people who would like that.

Thank you,

Liz

We have been asking for this for at least 4 years with no satisfaction.

That's okay. If we keep asking maybe it will happen. 🙂

I ordered the road Id for my fitbit for the same reason.

I have Addison’s Disease and am required to wear a medic alert bracelet in case I am in an accident or injured.  I get skin irritations from the medic alert bracelets but love my Fitbit.  Please please consider making interchangeable medic alert bands that users like me can put on their Fitbit.  It might save someone’s life.

Hopefully they will consider it soon.

As being an innovative health company, it seems frustrating that people have asked for years to have this feature of Medical Alert incorporated into your product.  I know you can do something about it but have not.  I love my Fitbit.  I have had One and now Charge 2.  Please listen to the people. This is something that could further your product.  I am not sure if this is offered on other products, but I am in the market for a new tracker and that is something I am going to look for.  Please be the company that can win the race.

This could be a large selling point to your product. You don’t necessarily have to imprint the medical conditions but you could provide a place where we could get it engraved. Please listen. Thank you.

To be honest, asking Fitbit to do what already exists, isn't fair to Fitbit.

I have this id from RoadID. Mine is what they call an "interactive" ID.
There are serial numbers on the back, that when you call the number on
front, they will give you my entire medical history.

You can also get the same id band, without that interactive ability.

They're not too expensive, and they have IDs for most Fitbit products. You
can put most anything you want on the ID.

RoadID.com Check them out.

Why go to another company when it could be done all in one app? I
understand this is an option, but would like to be able to add and delete
information as needed and not pay extra subscriptions that could be
possible in this interface.

Thank you for your suggestion.

I think it could be on the screen just like steps with the logo on the
band.

I can't do that product because of my metal sensitivity (but fitbit has
been fine). Just give us the option to add a message to a screen in our FB
and let us choose the text. lf it is the first screen it could have the
option of the medical icon.
