Medical ID Wristbands/ICE (In Case of Emergency)

It would be a great idea to add the medical alert logo to the flex band in case of a medical emergency. Older adults today are living longer, more active lives than the generations before them. The medical alert symbol and information can be incorporated into a stylish watch or a bangle-type bracelet, among many other options.

Medical IDs give paramedics and health care providers a quick look at your medical history in an emergency. They usually include information about medical conditions, food or drug allergies, medical devices (such as a pacemaker), and medications. This data can also be in sync with your Smartphone.

I am wondering if Fitbit Ace will have medical ID alert. My daughter has seizures and wears a medical bracelet. It would be good to have the symbol on the band but access to medical info as well. Fitbit might help my daughter know when her seizures are going to occur by showing her pulse rate. Please consider offering this features for kids as well.

Since roadId is no longer making tags for fitbit bands, we need a way to combing medical ids with a fitbit. Especially for the ace/childs sizes. My kids need a medical I'd daily, but it is too much to have both a fitbit and a separate ID on one wrist.

I have a Versa.

It would be nice if the Versa could show medic alert info like a Medic Alert Bracelet.

I am sure you have many users that have drug or condition alerts.

Having this info on the Versa would get rid having to wear a clunking looking bracelet.

Also it would be easier to update this info instead of buying a new bracelet

Perhaps even a watch face would be OK but then it would be nice if the Versa could store two watch faces.

I have a Charge 2 with a medical alert info from RoadID.  Unfortunately, RoadID stopped making these and I can't find another source.  Until I can find one, I won't upgrade to the Charge 3.

Will this app be supported on the charge 3?

It would be great if there was a way to more obviously alert first responders to medical conditions, for example by either creating a medical id wrist band and/or putting the alert directly on the face of the device (along with the time)

I don’t believe that it will be available for the charge 3.  Fit bit normally approaches their third-party developers when new products are about to launch so that they can start designing applications for them.

In this case I have not yet gotten any notification to adjust our coding to accommodate the charge 3.

My assumption is this is because the versa and the ionic watches run fit bit OS and D charge products run a different OS.

 Hope that helps.

I would love a medial alert band, not sure if it's possible to make one you can customize to list meds/allergies/conditions or a way to add that to the Charge 3 itself.

I was going to suggest the same thing. It could be an optional feature on the face screen.

Hi there,

I highly recommend you add a medic alert bracelet option to be able to put the fit bit piece into. It would be so much easier and safe to have one band.

You should definitely do this! I had fitbit a while ago and got an apple watch that has a one for road id.

They dont make one for fitbit.

I have epilepsy so this is very helpful for me and others to see.

I would love to have this. I have epilepsy and it would be beneficial in case of an episode.

Road ID has one for the apple watch.

To help save lives, please consider having a app connection on the Fitbit products for individuals to document their medical issues, medical history, current medications, prescription allergies, and emergency contact information which first responders (police, ambulance, hospital personnel) can utilize to help in cases of emergencies.

Votes for this appreciated!

I would love to see a medical attachment to the band or an app I don't to wear a bunch of bracelets and other gadgets.  It'd be nice to have the option.

Hi @classicteacher and commenters, thanks for sharing this suggestion. We’re excited to let you know that this Feature Suggestion has been developed by a third party developer, and can be downloaded from the Fitbit App Gallery available on Fitbit Smartwatches such as Fitbit Ionic or Fitbit Versa. You’ll find the Fitbit App Gallery by selecting your connected Smartwatch in the mobile app, choosing the ‘Apps’ tile and toggling to ‘All Apps’ at the top of the screen. You can then search third party apps by category and choose your favorite of the relevant options available. The app is called MED ID. Happy exploring!

Please note that if you have feedback or a suggestion for the third party app, you can contact the developer directly (if they have shared their contact details publicly). Open their app in the Fitbit App Gallery and you’ll find their contact details under ‘app details’ or ‘clock face details’. Thanks!

Does the Blaze have the option as well?

Apple has just come out with a type of fall alert on the watch where it detects the fall and you have the option of calling 911.  I think this would be a great feature to add to the versa for those that use fitbit but might have medical issues.

I know their are attachments for previous fitbits but I think they should be reproduced for all fitbits. I have the charge 3. I also have seizures and hypertension. I also do not not having bulky stuff so, if I  could just have a watch instead of having to wear a relatively large fitbit (for me)  then a bracelet or necklace with my medical conditions it would be a lot easier and less to handle especially while working out and such. I would really appreciate it if you guys would take the time to make this accessory.

I've had my Fitbit Versa Limited Edition for a couple of weeks and so far it's been great. But I'm one of those unfortunate people who must also wear a medical alert bracelet. It would be very helpful if the Fitbit could hold the same pertinent information, such as allergies (several) with their severe reactions (I have a few), as well as critical health information. Your customers and first responders/emergency medical staff could really benefit from the quick access in an emergency.

All - check out the Med ID app or the Stats with Med ID watch face  for the Versa.  It will store your emergency information, medications, allergies etc. in one simple app .

Also - soon to be coming is a section for those with support animals to enter their information as well.

Voting for this! I think it would be great to see an addition to the fitbits for Medical Conditions and information

Fitbit/ medic alert. Add my name to the list

I would really prefer to have a medical ICE tag attached to my Fitbit Inspire rather than having to wear a medical bracelet and fitness tracker together.
