More badges (Add badge ideas here!)

Need more creative badges and trophies rather than just the lifetime records... that could be more motivating.

Here are a few ideas:
- Badge for reaching 10000 steps for 7 days in a row, 15 days in a row, 50 days in a row...
- Badges based on active minutes/calories/kilometers
- How about some more crazy/funny badges like "night owl" for someone who regularly achieves a lot of steps at night, "out of bed" (same principle but for early morning), etc.
- Badges that reflect poor activity; for instance a badge if you don't reach 10000 steps/day once in 7 days, ...

I think that these are all ideas that could really enrich the experience of fitbit users by increasing motivation and I believe they are all relatively simple to implement in the Fitbit system!!

I'd love to wear my Fitbit traveling and receive location badges. Sort of like how snapchat recognizes you're in a certain city. Would be a great way to motivate people to walk around on their travels 🙂

@LVinLA: I love your ideas. Heart

We need something to keep ourselves motivated after breaking through the fitbit lifetime floor ceiling 🙂

@Fitbit: Your turn to contribute by implementing LVinLA' suggestions! Smiley LOL

That would be very helpful for me because since I have had my fitbit in April, my longest streak of 10,000+ has been 6 days. I could really use something like long streak badges to keep me motivated. It would be greatly appreciated!!!

I like the badge idea.  However, I would go a step (zing!) further and add a meter that shows the length of the current streak I am in and also the ability to see my longest all-time streak, even if it does not line up with a badge.  Getting more detailed streak information seems like a good motivational tool.  I know I've pushed myself to get a few extra steps to keep a streak going.

I agree with the above. I did 850 floors in one day during an ultra race in May but floors were capped at 700. Likewise, I did almost 135,000 steps in one day during The Wall ultra but steps are capped at 100,000. More badges please - lots of people do these long distances and we all like to be rewarded and motivated.

I think it would be great if instead of just stepping around places to earn adventure badges, there were options where we could earn badges for climbing different high points around the world. Anything from large hills right up to Mount Everest and even climbing to the top of tall buildings from The Spinnaker Tower to The Empire State Building. If the pedometer that came with the Wii Fit U can do it, Fitbit definitely can! More in the UK would be great too!

I would LOVE more climbing challenges! It's an even more challenging way to get steps and I'd love to be pushed like that.

Hi Fitbit folks,

Not sure if this suggestion was made already. Perhaps you can adjust the daily climb badges into something smaller than increments of 25 floors. Anything over 30 floors takes a lot of effort. Perhaps in increments of 10 floors. I just replaced my Flex with the One, primarily because I wanted a tracker with an altimeter so I can collect more badges. But I'm finding it difficult to achieve the daily climb badges. Not very motivated. Thanks.

I recently bought the new charge 2 watch and faithfuly worked upping my goals. However, my motivation is dwindling because my next badge is the 'around the world' one. The amount of miles is do-able, but I wonder if there's anything in the works regarding new badges. The last

news/anouncements about badges was given over 2 years ago!!!

I think it would be great to have some challenges that weren't just step related such as:

Who had the highest heart rate?
Who slept the best / worst this week?
Who travelled the most distance?
Also I think there should be a runner up badge for 2nd place.

I have shared ideas and requested new badges several times.  Alwasy asked to log it to feature enhancement and give a specific idea.

SO here are a few for lifetime distance:

3610 miles, (big gap between Sahara and Nile), Lindeberg Transatlantic flight.

15,596 .Wiley Post first flight around world 15,596.

Fossett first baloon flight around world 20,483

Fosett first solo flight around world 22,878

Equator - 24,901

Magellen sailed 42,000

You may ask...Why so far out there?  Fitbit is relatively new, 5 years or less.  I already have friends with Russian Railway.  If Fitbit users will be on the product over lifetimes, there needs to be some very long term badges to keep people workign towards.    Personally, if I ever got any of th ose badges over w20,000 miles would be an accomplishment worth taking pride in.  People could get the Magellen one in 20 years if they are good walkers.

Would like a few gaps filled in, and like some additional long term goals.  Pole to Pole, good for a few more years, but eventually that would be feeble as max badge for folks who will wear Fitbit over decades.  Think Long term...like you want to be here in this space vs. Garmin, etc.

I agree with more lifetime climbing badges. Probably not the daily one, though. I only know a handful of people who got the max daily.

Totally agree - I'm almost at a 200 day streak and would like to get a badge as a reminder of that! Hopefully its something that can be implemented soon!

A previous pedometer gave you a badge if you exercised on a holiday like New Years, or Christmas.  It was motivating, and made your badge page pretty.  We don't have nearly enough badges, which are a lot of fun to "win."  Please add more!

Thanks to those who are with me on this and commented - apparently not enough to reach critical mass with the Fitbit powers that be though ;-(

I reached the bottom end of the LEO (Low Earth Orbit) range (52,493 floors) last summer, and passed the SRTM orbit (76,476 floors) last week, also passing the Sputnik orbit (70,538) along the way. (Sputnik was the first artificial satellite, launched by the Soviets in 1957, triggering the Space Race.)

While waiting for Fitbit to catch up, I'll be working on the space stations in 2017:

* 116,142 floors was the average perigee (nearest altitude for elliptical orbit) for Mir, the Soviet space station that orbited Earth from 1986 to 2001.

* Tiangong, the Chinese space station, is at 119,094 floors.  Tiangong-1, China's first, was launched in 2011. It's currently out of service, and, with its decaying orbit, is expected to burn up on re-entry into the atmosphere in late 2017. (My goal is to reach Tiangong orbit before it comes crashing down!)  China has a second station on orbit, Tiangong-2, launched in September 2016.

* ISS (International Space Station) is next at 121,391 floors, as I mentioned in my previous post.

* Skylab, the first US space station, was at 142,388 floors from 1973 to 1979.

Beyond the human-inhabited space stations are science satellites:

* At 168,635 floors are the German TerraSAR-X and it's twin TanDEM-X, Earth-observing radars making Digital Elevation Measurements.

* HST (Hubble Space Telescope) is at 178,806 floors, still in operation since 1990.

* The Italian COSMO-SkyMed (COnstellation of small Satellites for Mediterranean basin Observation), a system of four more Earth-observing radars, is at 203,084 floors.

That should keep me, and anyone else who wants to play along, busy for the next few years.

I would love to see some new badges and challenges added regarding step goals...you have a goal day, what about something to acknowledge reaching your step goal every day for a week or a month?? I think this would be very encouraging for people who want to stretch their goals beyond individual days.

I love Fitbit...I have the Alta and flex2...love love love!!  Thank you!

I like it! I had one month in 2016 where I logged at least 15,000 steps every day!

I agree we need more lifetime badges.  For example, the lifetime climb stops at 35,000 floors, which I was able to reach in 4 years.  I'd like to make it at least to the moon in my lifetime!

I reached the 35,000 floors in 18 months. New badges should be definitely added for lifetime floors as well as for the number of daily steps and floors.
