I can live with this clockfaces, but please make color changes possible. For what do we have an color screen when we cannot even change some basic colors? Even cheap China bands can do this.
I just got a Charge 5. I did a lot of research before making my decision. I got the Gold/Lunar White version to look more like jewelry for work (Luxe didn't have some of the features I wanted, plus Charge 5 was on sale).. I was disappointed to find that none of the clock faces match the esthetic. It really grinds my gears actually. It's a modern looking device, yet the clock faces are either retro, super sporty, or just goofy. Please for the love of Pete, either design a ton more (maybe some feminine would be lovely), or release it to the community to design more and you can select what you want. It would really make this product so much better.
Other things that grind my gears:
- You can't see clock/time while tracking an activity! WHY?! I got this so I didn't have to bring my phone to track activities, but I need to know the time.
- You can't exit out of an activity without stopping it - WHY?! The NFT is supposed to be this great feature that you don't have to bring your phone on a run if you want to buy a water/coffee. You have to completely stop your activity to pay (or see what time it is), then start a new activity. INFURIATING!
Yes, yes, yes!!!!!!! How can Fitbit created so-called newer versions of their trackers, yet downscale the features. As consumers we still pay more, receive much less, the technology is supposed to increase. I have an idea, allow us to at least change out the batteries of the Fitbit devices we do like, how’s that? Instead of conning the customers into purchasing a piece of crap!
@breezergirl - You *can* see the time while in workout mode. Scroll left or right until you get to the clock. The number of times you need to scroll varies by activity.
I also have the Gold/White version, and besides the utter lack of functionality in the clock faces, I also agree that none of them even remotely match the aesthetic of the physical device.
@UlrikeDG Ahh yes. Sorry. I can't scroll, but if I tap pretty hard it changes the stats. Time is one. But the NFT thing! lol. Or am I not doing that right either? 😅
@breezergirl - You are correct that it's a tap, not a scroll. Sorry about that. I'm recovering from surgery and haven't been able to work out for WEEKS!
I don't use Fitbit Pay, but it makes sense to me that you wouldn't use it while actively working out.
@UlrikeDG For me, if I am out for a walk/run, it would be nice to at lease be able to pause to grab a drink. It urks me that you can't do anything else while tracking a workout.
Oh God, one more thing I noticed. I set an alarm yesterday. Is anyone else having to tap the screen 5-6 times before it dismisses???? What am I doing incorrectly? Is there another way to turn off the tracker alarm?
Yeah, I really hate the clock face options. I don't like where the numbers are broken up into a vertical square shape. I ONLY like the horizontal clocks, which eliminates 70% of my options. From there, I don't like orange or red or yellow or that weird fluorescent green color, so that gives me 2 options. One that doesn't showcase the colorful display and looks like my old Inspire 2, and the other one that is all funky and slanted and the wrong shade of green.
I'm going to return this to amazon, unless ou can tell me that new clock faces are on the way. I looked at your gallery and found so many beautiful designs, and I loved the entire LGBTQ+ Pride clocks, but none of those were available for the charge... it seems to get a pretty clock face, you have to buy a square shaped smart watch. As for your other features, I haven't tired them because I've spent 4 hours trying to choose a clock I would enjoy looking at. Please fire the person that made the decision on this. I think I'm gonna return/refund this back to amazon and get a different brand.
The charge 5 is a Downgrade from the charge 4 which has more. I would return the charge 5 if you Still can as I see Fitbit abandoning the charge 5 and putting all the features we have been complaining about on there next new release.
Just upgraded from Inspire 2 to Charge 5 because I wanted a more colorful display and also because the Inspire doesn't always work and is really hard to see on my 54 yr old eyes. I have spent 4 hours trying to find a clock face I like but every single one of the gallery options is for a versa or sense, not the Charge.
Hi @SunsetRunner, thanks for taking the time to share this suggestion about adding more clock faces for the Charge 5. I've moved it into a similar request. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs. Click on the thumbs-up to show your support.
You moving my post and copying/pasting a response doesn’t resolve my issue. I need to know IF and WHEN new clocks will be added, because I only have 30 days to return this watch and get a new one. I’m not keeping this if these will be my only options. Do you know that the Versa and Sense have so many LGBTQ+ clocks but the CHARGE 5 does not?? That’s discriminatory!! As an LGBTQ person, I would like to have that option on this watch. Not saying that would be my final option, but to not include it during Pride month especially, is not okay. Thank you for making it available on other watches, but if I’d known it wasn’t available on this one, I never would have purchased this.
Thank you for your feedback. It seems this is very low on Fitbit’s list of priorities or they just do not care. Many have complained but they have yet to take action. These trackers are getting less functional with time, it is as if we are being forced into purchasing smartwatches. I don’t care for the bulkiness and I don’t need all the features of a smartwatch either. It doesn’t mean they have to cheapen or ignore the quality of the new trackers.
