More condition/symptoms on Menstrual Health Tracking

Some obvious ones I don’t feel are listed in the conditions, things I like to note during my cycle.  A big one which a lot of women suffer with like Bloating and sleep deprivation.

Some ideas that could be listed in conditions

bloated (RELEASED!)

sleep deprivation (vote here!)

gassy/windy

back pain (vote here!)

increased appetite (vote here!)

high stress (RELEASED!)

high energy (RELEASED!)

dizziness (vote here!)

decrease appetite (vote here!)

clotting

constipation / diarrhea (vote here!)

PMS (vote here!)

cravings (vote here!)

HCG levels

anxiety (RELEASED!)

the list im sure goes on..

maybe there could be a bit that allows you to write in a notes on whichever days the individual needs. Every woman cycle changes and being able to write a note when those changes happened would be good.

I think a pregnancy mode is definitely needed also where women can log stages in their pregnancy and also make notes where needed.  And then I think maybe something for after pregnancy breastfeeding etc.

I do enjoy the female tracker that Fitbit has produced. However, I believe it would be more effective if we could add more symptoms or have a variety to choose. Being a female our bodies/hormones  are different which makes our body react different when we have a menstrual cycle. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read and make changes.

There are a lot of women out there experiencing infertility; and trying to get pregnant with the help of specialists. The Female Health tracker can be quite limiting. Is there a way to add more to the “log details” a place to add personal notes and added icons or create personal icons for:

Medications

Hormones

Shots

Retrievals

Transfers

Ultrasound

Etc.

I know that it would be helpful for me and so many other women out there.

Excellent list of possible improvements to the female health tracking feature! I would especially appreciate the ability to track emotions as well as physical symptoms like bloating and backache.

Don't know what's the point of all this anymore nothing has changed since
this tread started. I'll just keep using the tracker on my phone. Screw
this.

I agree with all of this! I just started using the female health tracking and really like it but it could use a lot more symptoms. I especially agree with the person who commented that even having some basic categories of symptoms would be a good start. There's no way for them to include every symptom that every person has, but at least hitting some of the major categories would be a great step forward.

I would especially like to see categories/symptoms for:

Back pain

Sleep changes

Mood changes

Energy level changes

The option to write in your own symptom (with a generic "other symptom" icon)

100% agree. There should be some expanded standard symptoms as suggested by post and comments as well as a "customized" field to type in whatever you want.

Yes, I would love to have more features on the fitbit app for periods. Hormones can make me go to the washroom (bowel movements) a lot of times during that time of the month so it would be a nice bonus to keep track of it. I have to use Clue with Fitbit as well because of the extra features.

Obviously I haven't read all 161 comments but from what I saw no one has mentioned FATIGUE. I don't know what's up with y'all with your sleep deprivation and "high energy" lol, I can barely keep my eyes open at my desk all day long, especially on the first day of my period. The Notes option that keeps being suggested that would allow us to just type in our own symptoms would obviously address this but I really like the one click option for common symptoms. So please add fatigue to the list.

I agree as well. Fitbit moderators, please add atleast bloating, gassy / windy to symptoms. This, atleast, is very common.

For people like me with food sensitivities / IBS, it really helps to track if I'm sensitive to certain foods only during certain parts of my monthly cycle, or if it is indeed a food sensitivity.

More symptoms needed - totally agree!  I understand that not everything can be added but there are items missing that GYN's usually ask about such as: Fluids: clotting and Conditions: fatigue.  It would also be helpful for more accurate tracking to break the Cramps into 2 options: mild cramping and severe cramping.

Why do you haft you log at least 1 day for you period? Can you please chasing this?? I can go a couple of months with out having a period. If I'm forst to enter a period that I didn't have, then my tracking is not accurate.

I think it’s great to have the mental cycle tracking but you’re missing a whole host of common symptoms such as bloating, extreme fatigue and achiness. Bloating is especially one that starts days before the actual period. I hope future upgrades will add more of these symptoms. Thanks.

Hi @SunsetRunner, thanks for explaining why you would like to have this option in the Female Health tile. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has a lot of votes. As the more votes and comments an idea has the more visibility and momentum it gains. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs.

I agree that this feature needs an option to add custom period symptoms- even if the easiest way is to include a ‘custom’ symptom tile that I can personalize once I’ve selected it, or add as many as needed for each cycle. Thanks!

Totally agree! I would also add emotional symptoms. I know my emotions can be just as big of an indicator for me as physical, sometimes more so. All depends on how that cycle is going. Adding a way to track pregnancy would be super helpful too, that way it doesn't look like you skipped a period for 9 months in Fitbit. It also needs a way to allow for the input of Basal Body Temperature. I'm surprised it did not already have this option, as it is a key component in natural family planning, along with cervical fluid which is already in the app.

Totally agree - I have been wishing I could enter different symptoms than the ones listed. I would opt for a manual entry symptom (like you can if a food is not in the list of foods you store) so that each person can enter symptoms specific to them, without clogging up the screen with symptoms you don't get.

I also totally support having a place to make notes.

Also in the trends, it only gives information about the actual period, but no trend info about the other symptoms.

I agree with another user that some perimenopausal/menopausal specific data would be invaluable. When you're going through this it is the first time in your life to have experienced it, so being able to track and understand how it is affecting you would be very useful.

Scatlett

I agree with a few other people a simple way to check that you're pregnant would be really useful. It keeps asking me if i've gotten my period which I obviously haven't and my predicted cycle keeps moving as it awaits me entering that info.

I would love to see a feature for more symptoms.

As someone who has an Autoimmune disease I often have way more than just cramps, headaches etc (the basics) I'm often dealing with all over body achyness, migraines, nausea,

I would also like to see an option for severity of symptoms -like there is with the heaviness of the period, there should be an option for servility of the cramps or headaches, etc. I'm often in such horrible pain from the cramps that I miss work and other events.

BahamasGirl365 it’s interesting you mentioned how bad things can be for you
as I was just discussing this with my personal trainer this morning who
also gets debilitating periods. She had prescription painkillers just to
function and is often sidelined for an entire day or two of things are
really bad. There definitely need more granular options and features for
this part of the app for sure. Thanks for sharing this because some people
feel isolated.

@SunsetRunner

Yes exactly! It likely has to do with my autoimmune disease, but seeing as I'm trying to get to the bottom of it (if it's something like endometriosis) It'd be nice to be able to track things like symptoms and even if prescription pain killers are needed too, to have something to bring to the doctors.  I've been told by a doctor to take the prescription strength of Advil since I don't have health benefits, but sometimes even that doesn't help 😞
