More countries in the food database

If you don't have the resources for doing this yourselves, at least define the countries, and let the community add the products and pictures. The Bar code scanner adds a quite easy way to add products and labels. If you now add a separate tile for community added products, we could easily input the values ourselves from the pictures. Then allow a few people to review the numbers and the food database should populate quickly. (Merging and deleting dupliates will need to be administrated).
To make this interesting add some badges for this and perhaps some free months of premium after some number of product additions/image translations/reviews.

Any updates from the devs regarding this? I miss this functionality a lot. It's not very fun to use yet another app to get this working when I feel like this should have been there from the start.

I'd much prefer to use only the Fitbit app, instead of using MFP (whose Android app isn't very good) + Fitbit.

I'd even volunteer a few hours per week to review / add items to the database, if it's a question of cost.

Yeah, Please add it i have been waiting since 2015. We're a large customer base in Sweden. It's 1/3 of the best functions worth having just gone. I don't want to use other apps just to scan food: it's not why I bought Fitbit in the first place. Please do something about this, you have already got a lot of tips in this thread to minimize the your cost and efforts to do it. So why not? There's a ready database from the government as someone mentioned in here what's holding you up?

Instead of using Lifesum and migrate the data to Fitbit i really would like you to import the Swedish food data base! Pls! In that case we just have to use one app and it would make sense to pay premium for that.

My workout life would be complete if you'd add a Swedish database. I'm not really into the whole having to use a second app, so to use only Fitbit would be so much more convenient. That's a big part of why we all chose Fitbit, you have so many handy features. You have so munch a person could need within the app, it's just that not everyone can use it to the full extent.

I hope it's under development!

I would like to see more countries in the food database. I think it would help a lot of people. I bought a fitbit in order to help me lose weight, but i can't even log the correct amount of calories because it's not the same amount of calories in my food (Sweden) and in for example American food. I am aware that the Myfitnesspal app can be connected, but it would be a lot more helpful if you could log it directly in the fitbit app.

Hello
When will you launch a Scandinavian Food Data Base, or preferably Swedish? I have tried with other the other data bases but it doesn't really work. I feel I can't use the Food log, and it's impossible to log every ingredient or meal manually.
My best Christmas gift would be a Swedish/Scandinavian food data base 🙂

This!

It's free to just implement. What's holding you back?

Hi, I'm a new Fitbit user and while exploring all the features I discovered that there isn't an existing Swedish food database. I would love to have that since trying to match my food with American/UK database was more tricky than helpful. It would be great if you could implement that so all features could be useful for also a Swedish Fitbit user.

Hi, It is now almost 4 years ago we asked for this feature. It is free to use, free to connect to, really easy for you to implement. What's holding you back?

Even the Michelin Guide will soon create a separate list of Scandinavian Restaurants since the focus on healthy and "good" ingredients is sky high compared to rest of Europe and especially the world.

Can we please have some solid and direct feedback why this has still not been implemented by FitBit?

I want the swedish food database too. Unbelievable that is has been years since and we still don't have this. Especially since it's so easy to implement.

To me it looks like they just don't give a f.

I am new to fitbit, but I was pretty dissapointed thst there was NO database in Swedish.

Have nothing eose to complain about but would like to know why ypu dont just ad it!? The reasson is intresting.

To also get a food database for Sweden/ Scandinavian so people here in Sweden can scan and log food they eat every day. If it's not possible then try to make atleast 1 of many other apps that can , to connect with fitbit so if people use that app, every meal will also be shown/registered on their own fitbit account.

Hello!

I'm new to Fitbit but really enjoy the app so far! I wanted to request a feature be added, similar to a feature that already exists on Lifesum.

First, adding Canadian and other International food databases should be a top priority considering the quality of your food tracker (which is great quality, except missing a few handy features).

When creating a custom food it would be fantastic to scan and "create" a barcode and link that barcode to the food you've created. This way, future entries of this food can be found either by the individual or other users by scanning the barcode.

This is especially helpful to folks who try to buy locally - EG I have an unpasturized honey added that many people in my area buy, but probably all had to add to fitbit manually to their own private database, and new fitbit users will have to add it manually also, rather than have a scannable barcode set up by a senior fitbit member in the same community...

*shrug* Hope you find the suggestion useful!

Hi,

Since there are so many users who wants this database, I though of combining this into one Scandinavian Database, since there is quite some overlap.

Maybe this can work for Fitbit 🙂
