Hi This is the second time that my post has been moved. There are a lot of people unhappy about not being able to store personal music. When is someone going to address that issue rather than just moving posts around? Thanks Simon
Sucks that they would remove this feature and not cleary show this change difference for the consumer. I had no idea, just took my versa 3 back and got my money. Who needs what basically amounts to a digital watch now without the feature of uploading personal music.
I have been with fitbit for years since the first device was introduced. I was planning on updating to Versa 3, but won't be and may never buy another product again since you removed the ability to store personal music on the new devices. Why in the world would Fitbit remove such a popular feature. They finally add onboard GPS and remove personal music storage. Really fitbit product development team? The only way to listen to music is through a Pandora or Deezer subscription which both suck. I had the Pandora subscription for more than a year they keep playing the same songs no way to choose your playlists. At least with personal music loads you can add what you want and don't have to pay for a third party subscription fee. I guess I'll start looking at the Android competition and find another fitness smartwatch. Thanks fitbit for forcing me to go somewhere else real customer focus with this company.
Having ability to store songs directly on the Fitbit Sense was something that we wanted in a smart watch and though we were getting. To be able to listen to music while working out or walking without having to have our phones would something that would put the sense on par with other smart watches and should be a must have especially when older models of watch have this capability.
My wife and i were going to get the Sense but once we found out u cant store music on it we are looking at garmins. Been using fitbits forever but i would rather pay more money for an older version of the garmin fenix 5 to get this feature. Super disappointed in Fitbit trying to force 3rd party subscriptions.
I agree , I wanted to upgrade to the sense also. However, with no music storage that’s an issue. I love the Fitbit app and stats however with no music that’s a deal breaker. My older Fitbit has music storage, The sense has GPS so you wouldn't have to take your phone but not with music issue . You would have to carry phone. I can’t believe Fitbit will be ok losing all their customers to Garmin.
I was just about to buy one for my wife, but when we realized it doesn't support loading music and podcasts for free we can't see the point. In our case we already subscribe to music services, we just don't need another.
This whole thread is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of lost sales for you, I hope someone is looking at this and sees the missed opportunity and potential to capitalise. It's win-win
As someone who likes to go running without a phone while listening to music/podcasts, I am deeply disappointed to hear this. I had recommended the Fitbit Sense to friends and was minutes away from purchasing it myself yesterday until I learned this. This device has all of the infrastructure for no-phone exercise (e.g. gps) but removes the one feature I feel is absolutely required.
This was the determining factor between the fitbit and the apple watch for me, and I really wish I could have gotten the fitbit.
I am so upset. Upgraded my Versa 2 into a Versa 3 today, plugged the Versa 3 into my computer to find out I cannot upload any music anymore? How can you do something like this to the community? It's already tough to pay a lot of money for fitbit premium (why?), and now you are also forcing us to pay a lot of money for music. I already have Spotify, but it cannot store offline on the Versa... When can we expect music storage functionality? You are forcing a lot of people to go and buy Garmin smart watches. Please give us back our storage. I am really thinking about returning the Versa 3 to the store.
VERY DISAPPOINTED not to have basic music storage on Versa 3. Spent hours trying to do this, mislead by many youtube videos and articles, only to find out that it WAS a feature and has been removed from the latest model? Crazy. Will be returning the Versa 3 unless I hear that this is changing...?
It's crazy, I went out to purchase the versa 3 for the black Friday sale. Never did Fitbit even acknowledged the change to the new version. I own the first versa and figured the Versa 3 would be a wonderful upgrade, but I returned mine the very next day at target.
I spent the night trying to figure out how to sync my playlist only to find out at 2 in the morning it had been removed. Shame on you Fitbit for misleading your customers.
Definitely, feel really let down that you can't use Spotify without your phone. I bought the Versa 3 because I thought with the built-in GPS I could leave my phone at home as it was advertised as compatible with Spotify. They urgently need to enable you to download Spotify playlists offline to listen to on runs.
Hi @gjfssmhbhjhrsdg, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to storage music on Versa 3. Thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request. You won't be getting more notifications from this thread. See you around.
It remains totally dumbfounding how the fitbit powers-that-be can continuously ignore the reasonable pleas of loyal and new (soon to be old) users to allow for the user of the fitbit versa 3 to listen to music phone-free while walking, exercising, etc. Can you truly not see that without this feature, your selling carrot that there is built-in GPS is WORTHLESS because the user now needs to carry their phone with them in order to listen to music while engaging in the exact same activity for which they were leaving the phone home because it has a built in GPS I don't pretend to speak for all users, but like many users I've been with fitbit for many years and while the GPS is "nice", I would much rather have the onboard music feature that the fitbit versa 2 offers than the GPS feature that the versa 3 offers; so I will be returning the versa 3. While this may seem like a down-grade to you, it's an emphatic upgrade for me! Thanks again for nothing!!!
Because if they added the feature they'd be breaking whatever contract they signed with Deezer or Pandora and whatever kickback they got from them is certainly offsetting the minor handful of sales they've lost here in response. Look at the upvotes, that's not even 1000. And of course, they can't come out and say "sorry, you're not getting this feature, we signed a contract to keep it from you." because not only would that be stupid but it's probably in the contract that they can't.
All we can do is spread word of mouth and try to show them what a dumb idea it was to make that deal in the first place and hopefully the impact to the bottom line will teach them a lesson about how they treat their customers.
Not only should you give us this option, users like myself have miss out on the holiday savings of a unit by taking them back to the stores due to lack of having no personal music upload. Want to show your customers you care, fix the option to add music and get customers back my extending the holiday price of the versa 3 and I'll come back to Fitbit and make a purchase.
FitBit owner since their first product. Returning my sense, how insensitive to remove such an important on device music storage and push crappy products on cousmers.
Please bring back offline mp3 music to Versa 3 and Sense.
Youtube, Amazon, other shops and rating platforms burst from negative comments regarding thia former available and now removed feature! These are your two most high end and probably most important products. Don't you notice the impact of that user dissatisfaction?
By the way, against bad comments, i really like your touch sensitive button. Feels like a physical button.
Why are the moderators completely ignoring this thread? It cannot be that difficult to include the same programming that was available for the versa 2 witching the Versa 3 and Sense. This is major loss of functionality and you are ignoring your consumers.
