I want to upvote this post because I agree it is nonsensical to have GPS but not spotify offline music storage. Useless and pointless. A rude business ploy?
But it's not letting me upvote. How many others want to upvote this even more to bring more awareness, but cannot? Why can I not, especially if the number of votes is supposed to bring awareness to make a change? Hopefully adding a comment like this will let me vote, and at least show more awareness that this change needs to happen to make the sense or versa 3 remotely useful for a large potential user base.
Hmm perhaps bringing attention to these issues via the news/ media... in these unprecedented and financially changing times the makers of Fitbit are taking financial advantage of people wanting to be/ stay healthy. It’s disgusting.
I want to replace my Charge 3 and track my walks and listen to my music library using my Bluetooth connected Aftershokz headphones AND leave my iPhone at home. I don’t want to stream music as I have my own very large music collection gathered on LPs when I was a teenager. My music has been converted to mp3 on my Mac. The Ionic looks ideal, but it seams the Ionic is no longer supported??? Please confirm the Sense or the Versa 3 is able to store and play mp3 music through Bluetooth.
Longtime Fitbit User: I am considering upgrading to the Versa 3. I just read that the Music app is no longer a thing. I love having music on my Versa 2 (Music APP, not Deezer or Pandora). Please fix this!
This absent feature is a deal-breaker for me. Personal music storage was the best feature of the Versa 1 and 2 IMO. Will have to look elsewhere to upgrade, unless this gets addressed.
It really doesn't make sense for additional subscription for a normal feature. Will be returning the product...thanks to a wise fitbit business decision
Received a Versa 3 for Christmas and was very surprised to learn it lacks this feature. Have no interest in signing up for yet another service, so will probably return it if this doesn't become available soon.
The box mine came in literally says "store and play music". That seems like potential false advertising if it can't actually perform those functions without paying for additional services.
'Store & play music' was exactly what I saw before my purchase. Sadly, this great product is ready to be returned to the store because of a standard feature taken away.
I just received my versa 3 after owning the versa 1. I've been a long time user coming over from Pebble when they were acquired by fitbit. Ever since I've followed the Versa line knowing at least the same team was involved. Sadly, I'll be returning the fitbit versa, and switching over (likely to apple watch), due to the loss of the ability to upload personal music.
I'm confused, frustrated, and surprised that the versa 2, and 1 both had the ability to upload personal music. And, finally, when GPS was added, finally freeing me from a phone connection, fitbit versa 3 removes any sense of music freedom. Truly crazy. Crazier yet, is that I actually subscribe to Spotify premium, but you can't use fitbit to do anything but a remote control for Spotify.
Very sad, as it seems from a hardware perspective, things were moving in the right direction.
Candidly, shame on me for not noticing this feature removal prior to purchasing and not watching enough (unpaid) review videos. I guess I was just assuming I should keep trusting fitbit would do the right thing.
I got one of these for Christmas. I've never returned a Christmas gift before but not music storage is like..... what? I have to carry my phone if I want music whats the point of the watch?!
Storing music is must on a fitness watch. When you have to run and listen to music. I got my versa 3 and to my surprise I can no longer store my music and need premium subscription to store the content. Please add this feature back
I received a FitBit Sense today, as a gift, and spent the afternoon configuring it. The only thing I could not get to work was the music. It appears I need a premium subscription to either Deezer, Spotify or Pandora. I already have music in iTunes and Prime Music. I certainly don't care to pay for another service. I purchased an new iWatch SE for my daughter in October and she is not subject to this issue. Please let me know if there is an intention on behalf of FitBit to resolve this issue while I still have time to return the watch.
This is absolutely ridiculous and strongly encouraging me to return to my iWatch! I'm sure I'm not the only one with an extremely stressful job; the ability to disconnect from everything and focus on a workout is key which is why I liked the ability to download my playlist. I feel as though this is a major downgrade!
Very disappointed to say the least. This was, yes that's right, was my first Fitbit and smart watch purchase and most likely my last. It will be sending it back! I loved the GPS tracking feature for runs and thought it would be able to play my current library of mp3 songs. The idea of having an all in one and not having to carry any other devices on a run was what had me go Fitbit Versa 3.
Fitbit is in the money making business so I guess it was more profitable to align with their current streaming service partners to allow just that. They'll accept the loss of revenue on watch sales and make it up in their partnership subscriptions. A business move it may be, but one that is turning off a lot of former and new customers as seen in previous posts along with other online reviews to their newer smart watch line. And to know it was available in previous versions of their product is again very disappointing. Hoping they reconsider.
I have been a loyal customer since Charge, Charge2, Versa and now Sense - I am SOOOO disappointed with what I spent on this flagship device and what I got - I genuinely think my Versa 2 was superior - only lacking the GPS. I had hoped from the scale of the customer disatisfaction that fitbit would hurry out an update to return the feature that was alsready there in earlier models but no, fitbit remain quiet and indifferent. Sad to say but this is my last fitbit purchase if it goes another month with no word or update, Im trading it against another brand.
Received the Versa 3 for Christmas - spent the day setting it up only to realize you can't store music on it. Will be returning. Other than the obvious money grab why would you take this feature away?? Makes zero sense in my opinion. So disappointed...
Looking to upgrade to a versa 3 for the GPS functionality and being able to run without my phone. However it defeats the purpose if I need to still carry my phone for music since it can't be downloaded on the device. Please add the ability to download music to this device as this is my biggest reason not to purchase
Overhaul Fitbit Community so that complaints are addressed rather than swept under the carpet... See "Music storage on Sense/Versa 3" This disappointing failure of customer care and business sense received a useless moderator response on 30th August and nothing since. This creates Garmin, Apple & Samsung customers rather than loyal Fitbit users.
This is crazy Fitbit never addressed the issue . They are going to lose so many loyal customers . I have been buying Fitbit for so many years and wanted to upgrade so I didn’t need my phone . Such a downgrade they made . It was funny I was reading so many reviews and not one mentioned this issue. And I read a lot. Then I went to the Fitbit community and saw the issue theIr, I wouldn’t have had a clue you couldn’t store you own music . It makes it seem like you can when you read about the watch. I had the Fitbit in my cart and was ready to buy. I am sure it’s some legal or royalty issue they didn’t want to pay the other companies . I guess they are willing to lose customers . I purchased a Garnin venue sq. I don’t like the interface as much but it plays my music and has gsp. Sad to leave Fitbit but they
