Having the ability to add your personal music is a must. Why would you increase running aspects, such as adding GPS, but then go backwards for functionality with the loss of being able to add your own music???? We don't need streaming services to fuel workouts, just enough songs to motivate us through. Please bring back the My Music app and ability to transfer personal music.
I am glad I went and returned my versa 3 this morning and I can start shopping for a non-fitbit smartwatch. This same complain of a missing music app has been going on for quite some time now and I have heard the moderator requesting to get to a group chat and vote so they can then deliver the message back to development. Our voice is clear and loud and I have no idea how many votes the moderators are expecting to action. Let's hope in versa 4 for the return of the music app when the GPS feature is only available in the premium version for additional $.
This should be escalated asap as the community is speaking loud & clear. Adding a GPS on this device so you can leave your phone behind, AND taking away the ability to load local music is so counter-intuitive it's insane. I would understand such a decision if you had ALL of the major music streaming services covered as options, but you don't. Product team at Fitbit, please get it together. Taking away core practical functionality makes no sense to anyone.
Hi everybody, thank you for sharing your comments. Your feedback is greatly appreciated, we don't have more details about this suggestions. You can learn more about feature suggestions in our FAQs.
Like so many others here, I purchased the Sense to "upgrade" from the Ionic only to find out that one of the best features, the ability to upload/store my own music, wasn't carried forward to the new Sense. You have taken away a basic function that has obviously affected how a lot of your community members exercise. Fitbit team there are enough members here speaking on this very subject, you guys need to do the right thing , bring back the basic functionality of personal music upload/storage on the Sense, it only makes Sense
@sphite33 I so totally agree with you. I paid a lot of extra money for the Sense after my Ionic died (and money was refunded) expecting at least the same functionality available. It featured 'music storage' when I bought it, but didn't mention the restriction to two unknown paid music services. I feel very disappointed and run with a big phone in my pocket now.
@YojanaFitbit I'm glad to see somebody from Fitbit is actually reading this. But please don't treat this issue as a 'feature suggestion'. If you read the comments you see that many people are dissatisfied, amazed, disappointed or feel mislead, because of an existing basic smartwatch function is taken away without any substantiation. This is going on for many months now. How do you explain that there are no comment from the Fitbit team?
@YojanaFitbit Thank you for your post. But we are still waiting for a response. No more information after 4 months!?! Are Fitbit surprised that this thread reflects a haemorrhaging of customers? The longer this continues the more obvious it becomes that this "Community" is an attempt to put a bandaid on an ever-widening wound.
We are probably wasting our time right now. I doubt anything is done on this front until the Google deal is complete. Then we will have another streaming service to "choose" from. Wonder which one that will be? Hmmmmmm.
Am I going to have to get used to the round faced fitness smartwatches?
So frustrated Versa 3 does not support spotify. I returned mine today and purchased a samsung galaxy active 2. WOW! So much better! And I can actually listen to MY spotify music WITHOUT my phone AND track my runs with GPS. Highly recommend anyone who was a longtime fitbit supporter like me to change to samsung. The quality of the watch is also much higher, definitely worth the extra $. Good luck guys.
I was about to go and pick up my new fitbit sense on pre order. I am now cancelling due to this ridiculous lapse in judgment regards not being able to download Spotify playlists!!!
What a stupid decision to stop that capability.
Why would I pay for a secondary music streaming service that I don't want when I have a perfectly good one that I have spent years building my perfect playlists...?
I will look at an alternative brand and watch unless Fitbit makes it clear they will be changing this very fast.
Why would anyone think that was a clever idea??...
I received a Fitbit Versa 3 and was gobsmacked to discover I couldn't transfer my own media files onto it - this is basic functionality! I listen to podcasts when running, and these are not available on Deezer or Spotify. Given that this thread has gone nowhere in four months, I'm returning my Fitbit for a refund. Another unhappy customer who will warn others about Fitbit products.
I was beginning to think the sense was the perfect watch, but for me music storage one of the most important features. I think I'm going to have to return the sense and start shopping around
I was so excited to receive a Versa3 for Christmas, but I will be returning it. As it is now, it's just an expensive toy. I already own a lot of music, and I am not going to pay for Spotify or Deezer.
I am a 3 time Fit Bit purchaser. The last two purchases have been Ionic watches. I will always be a 3 time Fit Bit purchaser because I will no longer purchase Fit Bits due to the Music App being removed. I use that feature 4 or 5 times a week, or at least I used to use it 4 or 5 times a week. Can't believe a company would remove a popular feature, try to hide it, and then treat it as a feature request. NO fit bit, it isn't a feature request, it was an embedded feature for years that your company decided to remove. I can't believe the product manager who made that decision is still employed by Fit Bit.
I was all ready to purchase a Versa 3 today....Would have been a first time Fitbit customer..then, on my last video review, they detail that the device no longer supports playing music...oddly, this video review was presented from your own web site. Pulling features out....??? You are asking $300 for a premium device that can't play my music. I am speechless. There are plenty of copies and clones of your device that do play music. I decided I wanted to buy American and buy the leader of the market.....and the market leader pulls the feature of playing MP3 music from the device.....????? I am speechless. What do we do when we work out??? Well, we work out and listen to music. Who or what is the target market for a $300 smart fitness tracker that does not play music???? Please tell me. Why would I buy this device, which requires carrying my phone to play music, instead of a $60 fitness tracker??????? For your next product revision, I suggest you pull out the watch function....that would make perfect sense based on the decision to move music out of the device. Please e-mail me when you are going to sell a full featured product....In the mean time, I'm going to buy a cheap clone and wait for you to act like the market leader.
Very disappointed to discover I can’t load personal music to the Versa 3 after purchasing one. The feature works fine on the original Versa an is a huge benefit when running without having to carry a phone or other music device. This is a massive step backwards, think I’m going to return the Versa 3 for a refund and look at other non-Fitbit options.
Received my first Fitbit product for Christmas (Versa 3) and have been loving it since. However, I was quite surprised this morning when I realised I could not go running with music in my ears without taking my phone... Furthermore, I am a Spotify Premium user and would have thought I could keep some offline songs on my watch but all I can do is controlling the music from other devices. Please Fitbit, tell me you are going to release an update to at least add Spotify offline support on the Versa 3 and if not how I can proceed to return it.
It's a regret for me to get this watch since i cant store any music without the subscription.Well it will be my last for fitbit product. It is not convenient for me to use. Anyway im going to get new watch in the new year. Goodbye Fitbit.
Please add the capability to play my music files on the Sense. I do not use any of the music subscription services and don't plan to since I gazzilions of purchased music files already.
I was browsing site to see if I should upgrade my Fitbit so I can listen to music while I run. Apparently the Sense doesn’t do that so I may buy an Apple Watch instead. I hope they fix that soon. I’m certainly not going to buy a Sense anytime soon if I can’t play music while I’m running.
