Sorry, @Rich_Laue that is total rubbish and I genuinely don't understand why you persist. As with all commercial arrangements, it's a mutual agreement that two companies need to arrange.
As for arrangement fitbit has already setup everything the bank needs, the bank simply needs to hookup, Fitbit can not go into the banks computer to do this. This hookup needs to be done by the bank.
I persist because, fitbit says that it is up to the individuals bank (note the screenshot of the info page above), plus android pay says it is up to the individual bank. Garmin pay says it is up to the individual bank, and apple pay says it is up to the individual bank.
Fitbit has also stated that the bank needs to add Fitbit Pay.
You are intitled to call Garmin, apple, android, fitbit, etc and their stance garbage, or nonsense, but without any links to support your case...
I truelly appreciate what you are saying ,and this is no way aimed at you ,but the general public didn't have to go to the bank and ask them to add the apple watch or the samsung watch to there payment plan ,why should it be the customer who has to do it this time for fitbit ?
The banks must have a reason not to jump on board with fitbit ,or are fitbit are not driving it for a reason .
All UK banks would be brilliant and be so useful. I got natwest, monzo and Lloyd. It would make like so much easier if fitbit pay has any UK based banks. I got the fitbit versa 2 as it had fitbit pay. It seems unfair for your customer all over if we can't use all our banks. Also why can't we get apple music or Google pay or any app which can be used on android?
We really can't tell if users requested Apple pay, but apple pay was released way before Fitbit was, so yes the banks may have heard of apple pay. So what is it that you want for it to do?
Agree with other comments on this - no response from Fitbit yet the demand is clearly there for them to include other banks. Been over a year since this thread was originally raised and still no action. With the combination of lack of compatibility with Huawei products and such a poor approach to Fitbit pay, I will definitely be moving away from Fitbit in the near future.
Ah so we are waiting for banks to hear of Fitbit I understand now ? I’d be pretty sure the customers didn’t have to apple or banks about Apple Pay or Samsung or android payments
Just the Fitbit customer,It’s a great shame
I see people will bang the same drum and think that’s good enough response for the customers
@annajacko89 look at the top. This suggestion is now classified as under consideration. That will be the response from fitbit that your looking for. Of course when the bank adds fitbit it will happen.
I have just bought the Charge 3 special edition, mainly in order to use Fitbit Pay. It never crossed my mind that FitBit would not use the mainstream banks such as NatWest and Lloyds. I've never heard of most of the banks on there. Only Santander.
Come on Fitbit. An explanation of why NatWest and other main banks aren't on there please? Or a date when this is going to happen. It's a lot of money to spend on something where the main feature you bought it for essentially doesn't work.
This thread has been going for 2 years now. So a bit of feedback or a plan would be good.
@Rich_Laue, are you speaking on behalf of Fitbit? Or just speculating? Do you know that NW et al have been approached about this? And is there any particular means/route you have in mind of pestering NatWest? (It would certainly be worth making noises about switching to Santander who are supported. Maybe that would make them think seriously about it!) Thanks!
As you can read in the chain Fitbit represents still put it on the end end user to chase Natwest . ,let’s hope when google take over they will have more interest in resolving an issue that’s been ongoing for years
Ps Natwest payments via the Apple Watch are brilliant It tells you the amount spent ,The store ,And a map of where you spent it
Again shame Fitbit are happy to let there consumer sort out a higher level issue
I’m sure if it was more widely known sales would drop
@Chumba I'm happy for you that Natwest added Apple Pay, they understand the process and their shouldn't be an issue for them to add fitbit pay.
@Lelleo50 after doing some searching (besides aGoogle search I have a brother in the I found banking industry) out with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Fitbit Pay, Garmin Pay, Samsung Pay, none of them are able to add a bank. All these services use the same interface. This allows the individual bank decide which pay services they want to add.
Several of the services I point out above specifically as their users to contact the help number on the back of their credit card.
If you are interested, then follow the link in my post to see the relationship with Fitbit
Don't hold your breath. Apparently we all have to lobby Natwest. I have asked them but not had a reply.
If Google manages to buy Fitbit then at least they will implement Google Pay on future devices. Fitbit's inability to get any majoy bank except Santander is frankly a joke. They should be working harder to get it added. I'm sure Google and Apple worked hard to get the banks added rather than relying on their customers to ask for them. Fitbit just are happy to have all our money and can't give a stuff about the fact that this feature is useless to pretty much everyone who has fallen for the trick that fitbit can (in theory) pay for stuff.
After my 2 year old fitbit blaze battery died earlier this week I looked at getting a Samsung Watch or a fitbit ionic. Decided on the Ionic, but after an awful setup process that took all night, I now find my bank (Natwest) isn't supported by fitbit making the Pay feature useless to me!
I suspect the situation is that the UK banks don't see the fitbit as a platform that they want to deal with and so fitbit want bank customers to force this on their banks to change their mind.
I understand this process, but right now, the Pay app is useless to me and that was one of the reasons I purchased the Ionic over the Galaxy Watch. I guess I should have googled which banks had signed up to fitbit and it appears that not many UK banks have!
I'm still within the 14 days return period so goodbye fitbit.
What really annoys me about the situation is the clear false advertising. FitBit charge more money for a model they say supports NFC payment at major banks and they both clearly don't support this and have no intention of doing so. It's fraud.
Hi @RachaelCort87, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to add NatWest bank to Fitbit Pay. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". You can learn more about it here. Keep adding these suggestions.
