New updated clip on tracker

I have had a One for 3 years now and love it but am a bit disappointed that some features are not available on it (e.g.. active mins per hour etc). Please can you make a new clip on fitbit with more features. I really don't want a wrist one at all.

Posting about how you’re buying other, more expensive fitbit models to replace your Ones seems counterproductive to the intent of this thread.

I totally agree! I love my Fitbit one, I’ve had it for three years and it is so durable it still works like new, which I don’t see many people say about the wrist designs or watches

I also simply don’t want a tracker on my wrist. I prefer to measure my steps from my body not my arm, I think the bands are ugly, and the watches are not my style and frankly too expensive for me. I also prefer to track my activity discreetly.

I know that my Fitbit one is not going to last forever, and if there isn't another clip on option I don’t know what I’m going to do! Zip is still available, but it is very basic and does not track sleep which is important to me because I struggle with insomnia and I find sleep tracking encourages me to get to bed earlier, and follow good sleep hygiene, and also helps me figure out what is working and what is not.

I really hope Fitbit comes up with another clip on design. I’ve even looked at getting another one on eBay, but they are going quite expensive!

I just wanted to add that I too have had lotsa problems with the Fitbit case, but I just keep buying new ones on Amazon! It’s worth it to me because I love the device so much.

I never had an ultra but I have looked at them, and if that synced it would be exactly what I want!

don't waste your money on the zip.  It doesn't track steps very well at all.  It only caught about 2/3 of my steps.  I sent it back for a refund.  It's so frustrating that they no longer make a non wrist tracker.

BTW the Misfit Shine 2 that I was forced to purchase was only $19.99 and I want Fitbit to know that they have driven me to another company out of desperation.

I saw the shins, it looks nice...is there an app?

Also looking at Bellabeat.

I don’t want the zip, and won’t buy another fitbit when my one days as I have zero interest in a wristband or smartwatch.

I’ve been waiting for a clip on Fitbit with sleep tracking functionality.   It’s no longer feasible to find reasonably priced used Fitbit Ones.

I finally convinced a friend to purchase a tracker and talked up my Fitbit One before remembering you can’t get it anymore. When trying to help her choose another option there sadly wasn’t one.  Neither of us want a watch/wrist wearable  (at least not for the majority of time) and we both have flights of stairs as a goal. The additional features and app support Fitbit provides are great but if we can’t find a tracker we will actually wear it that tracks what we need for our goals that support means nothing. Please bring back a true clip option that measures floors or provide accessories for your trackers that measure these things that allow for clip on. I was very disheartened that I could not recommend a Fitbit to my friend and fearful that I will need to switch when my One stops working or is no longer supported.

My niece found an ankle band with a pocket on Amazon recently. My Charge2 fits in the pocket. Except for the largest of the watches, think most other units would fit. The step count is significantly more accurate than when worn on wrist. The only feature you loose this way is the heart rate.

TheOne is still my favorite but this solution allows me to stay with Fitbit

Anyone at fitbit: bring back an updated One!  Add me to the list of people that can't wear wrist items at work and the belt/torso clip is the only thing I can use.  I like the stair climbing and sleep features of the One which the Zip doesn't have.  My present One is not holding charge very well any more and it's only a matter of time before it bites the dust.  No updated torso clip on from Fitbit by then?  I'm going elsewhere to a different company.

I am a massage therapist. I currently have a zip, but I don’t feel that it’s enough for me anymore. I am looking for a tracker that can be on the wrist and can also track in your pocket for the times I can’t ware a watch. As a massage therapist I can’t ware a watch or jewelry on my arms because it will hurt my clients.

Thank you

After reading the kemOx post with the link to Amazon for the Vivofit clips, I used the link and ordered them. The clips work well for me, too. Since I don’t really care about monitoring sleep or heartbeat, I just keep the Charge 2 in the clip until time to recharge. Also, by turning off the heartbeat monitor and sleep tracking, it appears the battery charge lasts longer.

How do you turn sleep tracking on/off on the Charge2 ?  I don't see any such option.

h_m_w,

I didn’t find a way to turn off sleep tracking—other than not wearing the Charge 2 to bed. One night, I did sleep with the Charge 2 on and it registered just a solid blue bar for the whole night. My guess is it requires heart beat to determine the level of sleep although I don’t know how it knows you’re wearing it.

This morning, when I picked it up, I noticed that it flashed a message—something like ‘Ready to go’—so it must go to sleep when not worn for a long period of time. When not worn to bed, no sleep is registered.

I am getting so frustrated reading all our suggestions and hacks for replacing our FitBit Ones 😞

My One has been my faithful companion for FIVE years now - FIVE! and it's still going strong! (touch wood).  I have totally loved my FitBit experience until the day I read the One was discontinued Smiley Sad  My customer service experience had also been excellent until then too.

Three people had bought Ones on my recommendation and I had more recently got an Aria scale.  Now, I feel like the execs at FitBit, or the people who monitor the site, are giving us a terrible user experience in showing no interest whatsoever in our plight.

If they will not reinstate a clip-on tracker AS GOOD AS THE ONE (the Zip does not qualify in that regard) why not make one of their wrist devices adaptable in being used in the same way as the One (from the posts on this thread, it seems some models work better in this regard than others, when worn clipped, so I'm suggesting formalising this by telling us WHICH model) and bring out a clip for it that can be purchased additional to the wrist strap?  That surely does not involve a huge investment and would keep a particular portion of the market - who want a NON-wrist tracker - happy.  How hard can it be???? Smiley Wink

There is no good replacement option for the One and I'm very disappointed in the company for trying to force people to wear a visible wrist Fitbit - presumably for advertisement purposes.  Yes, I found a work around (Alta with a third party clip via Amazon) but although the Alta is a slight upgrade from the Zip, it's still clunky and does not have the features of the One.  I have been a huge fan/proponent of Fitbit for years (including gifts for others, I've purchased over 10 Fitbits) and I hate to lose all the historical information I've acquired through the app but I'm not going to spend another dollar with Fitbit until they recognize that their first priority should be their customers' needs.

I feel like our comments get relegated to the "circular file" aka trash can.
I've given up on FitBit. They lost me as a customer, after 6 years.

All...My fitbit one screen is cracking. Unfortunately, FitBit customer support/service has ignored the posts of so many.

Good News ==> TOMALL Replacement Clip Holder for Fitbit Alta/Fitbit Alta HR (many colors available) on AMAZON (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0743688LR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).

I purchased Fitbit Alta HR, TOMALL replacement clip holder, and IQ Shield screen protector on Amazon.  All work great.

Note:  The sleep and heart rate do not work when in the clip...but it is a decent alternative.  Does not record stairs climbed...but that is OK.

That is not OK for me. I mean if you already have an Alta it’s a good alternative, that my whole issue with the Fitbit one being discontinued is that the other clip on, the zip, does not have stairs climbed or sleep. This is not a comparable alternative to the Fitbit one

So annoying!  The One was discontinued in 2017 and I've read post after post of people unhappy about the decision so why bother to "track community demand over time" when the company clearly doesn't care that they are alienating and losing customers.  I hope the Alta works better for you pamvaporbug then it has for me.
