New updated clip on tracker

I have had a One for 3 years now and love it but am a bit disappointed that some features are not available on it (e.g.. active mins per hour etc). Please can you make a new clip on fitbit with more features. I really don't want a wrist one at all.

I am so disappointed that the ONE is being dropped.  It had the perfect combination of abilities, and except for its occasional problem with syncing, I had no issues with it.  Nothing FitBit offers comes close to replacing it.

If Fitbit's main reason for going with wrist-wearable-devices is their advertising element, I can also say that I gave FitBit PLENTY of free advertising about the ONE, convincing at least a dozen people to purchase a FitBit product because I was so enthused about the ONE.

Can't say that now.

NONE of the wrist wearable devices are in the LEAST attractive unless you like big clunky metal things on your arm.

I'm actively looking for a replacement.  FitBit, if you're listening, you made a POOR decision.

Fitbit. Are you listening? There seems to be a market for a clip on device to replace the One. This is the device that got you your start from people like me.

I wish there were a way to vote for these suggestions and comments.

No wrist band for me, ever. Must record stairs. When my One dies, I'm gone.

James Park and Eric N. Friedman, are co-founders of Fitbit. Their present vision has lost the customer base with the ONE and their push to the wristband. The company has bought TwineHealth and may be focused on that. Respectfully, they should note that their core base of users is not happy with the drop of the ONE. The main reason is folks do not wear wristbands for reasons already discussed. @MarcelFitbit, if you are serious about our input it would be nice to get solid replies or stop teasing us with "well ... Oh .... Of course ...." Your existing customer base is large and loyal.

Chris92057,

Quite a while ago, I sent polite emails to both James Park and the head of Customer Service explaining the reasons many of us will not or cannot wear a wrist tracker and really hope they would bring back the One or an upgraded version.

I got no reply from either. I guess they really don’t care about us.

Totally agree

I'm surprised they can't be bothered even to send out a canned reply. We're customers! Don't we deserve any acknowledgement?

(I'm sorry to say that that was a rhetorical question.)

While I'm hoping for a replacement for the One, I note that VLars asked for a clip on that could do steps, stairs AND be swim-proof. I suspect that stairs and swim-proof are not going to be possible. To do stairs requires a pressure sensor (which in turn requires a little hole to allow atmospheric pressure to reach the sensor). A little hole and swim-proofness don't seem to be possible on the same device. For myself, I'd rather keep the stair sensor and give up swim-proofness.

I agree with Pete—stairs are the important feature. What would a tracker track in the water? To me, the main reason to have a waterproof tracker would be to allow it to go thru the wash cycle and still function.

My use case for waterproofing is going to the beach or at a pool. I've resorted to carrying my One inside an unwieldy waterproof case clipped to my swim trunks. It screws up the floors count for that day, but at least I get steps.

My One went through the wash a time or three, and survived just fine.  But, it was a frontloader, so it really just got wet, and was likely not submerged.

There have been so many excellent suggestions for FITBIT on a enhanced clip on device, a shame they are not addressing.

Another thing for FITBIT to consider is that people have other life sustaining devices implanted (pace makers, defibs, etc....) that can interfere with wrist devices. If you can clip one on your hip, shoe, stick in your sock/underwear, etc..... you could still have the ability to track performance.

Mine went through the washer and survived as well

Mine, too! I was shocked. Top loader, too. It's a bit wonky, but it
works.

I am a knitter and a wrist-based device records my wrist movements as steps - bad idea. I just ordered the Zip from you and it has very limited features. I need and want more features and many others have shared the same needs with me. Please, please, please either consider adding more features to the Zip in an upgrade OR develop a new device that is not wrist-based. There are so many of us who need more features in a non-wrist-based device. Please, please, please think of you in your near-future product developments.

Having been an early adopter and happy owner of two lifetimes of fitbit devices, I was very disappointed to see that fitbit no longer manufactures the "One" and that there's no equivalent.  I do not want to wear a watch device.  I liked the ability to discretely wear the fitbit during the day.  Please continue to develop devices for a variety of wearing options.  If not, you will lose a customer who was very happy.  I know of two other friends who share my views and will just stop using fitbit rather than purchase any of your current offerings.

Just bring back the One.  I don't like wearing anything on my wrists and the One was perfect.  I loved the fact that it track stairs, had an alarm, and sleep tracker.  It was easy to read (the Zip is awful - dot matrix screen sucks and you have to tap it at least 3 times before it wakes up).

I purchased the Zip, wore it for a day and sent it back.  It is so inferior to the One.

Seriously. The One is what everyone wants and it just works. I've had mine
for over 3 years so it's definitely a sturdy reliable device. Just bring it
back!

I don’t think anyone from Fitbit is actually reading these posts

As my wife's One just recently died, I was forced to take a look at the competition, and ended up buying a competitor's product. Fitbit's lack of waterproofing in their wrist-worn tracker lineup is a glaring weakness. I would have preferred to stay with Fitbit, but the fact they discontinued our preferred model was enough for us to shop the competition.

Hey, Moderator, I see you just edited a comment to remover personal information.  When will we hear something from Fitbit other that silence from the lack of response?

All the responses from FitBit moderators are useless anyway — it’s just “go
buy our wrist-based tracker” (aka ignoring everything that’s being said) or
“go vote on for ideas on the suggestion boards”; never mind that the ideas
we like (eg clip-based, stair-counters, etc) have already been marked as
“not under consideration” by FitBit.

I have been using my One everyday for the last couple of years. It’s such a great device but after all these years its battery is slowing dying and I need to buy a new one. And now I find out it’s being discontinued... so disappointing...

I own a smartwatch that counts my steps, but I normally take it off when I come home. I love the One, clipped on my bra I never have to think about it. Please Fitbit, give us back our One!

I totally agree with you, shdwinds7. I hate to wear anything around my wrists and feel the same about necklaces. I loved the One and could wear it discreetly, which was the draw for me. I am now using the Zip because I can hook it to my waist band or to my bra. I wear it religiously every day and have this nagging fear they will discontinue it, also. I keep an eye on the market just in case this happens. When they discontinue the Zip, I will be gone. I don't wear a fitness item as a status symbol for the world to see. I use it for my personal benefit.
