I have had a One for 3 years now and love it but am a bit disappointed that some features are not available on it (e.g.. active mins per hour etc). Please can you make a new clip on fitbit with more features. I really don't want a wrist one at all.
Please bring back the FB One!! Not everyone wants to wear a fitness tracker on her/his wrist. A great idea would also to make it water proof because my One just died because I sweat so much (walking!) that it was like dousing it in a glass of water, I was told by your reps!
Or why don't you give the Flex2 a clip as an extra option--where we can adjust online to ensure that the steps are accurate when clipped to bra.
Is ANYONE at Fitbit even listening to these comments by all these users? The comments in these posts are from avid users who say that a more versatile, less bulky clip on than the one you have is NEEDED. You also need more options than one for clip on. PLEASE LISTEN. I'm not the only one... and we're all users who are committed to your brand already. You have buyers. So.... Make the Clip On (that works) and we will buy.
I have found the sleep tracker is no where near accurate on the Alta. You don't turn it on and off like the One so it is supposed to gage based on movement. Several mornings it said I was up around 5 am (I may have gotten up to use the bathroom at that time) but my alarm did not go off until 7:15 am. .
Everyone continue to “thumbs up” this post so it will get noticed. Click on the thumbs up at the very top of the page (via iPad it is in the upper left hand corner). I hope all who have responded will check that they have done this.
So, I was happy with the BellaBeat I purchased until it was lost--the clip did not hold it tightly enough. I hiked in three different places the day it was lost. I went back and tried to find it, but I had no luck. I'm wearing my old One again and hoping it doesn't die. Not sure what I would use if that happens. I have to have something that tracks my activity so that I can report it to my doctor and oncologist. I can't wear anything on my wrist because chemo made my skin sensitive to almost everything except clothing--no metal buttons, etc., that touch my skin. It's frustrating!
Yes, please remember to vote, using the thumbs up icon at the top of the original post. Like some here, I posted a new thread to bring back the One, which was promptly closed to comments, and I was referred here to vote and comment. Supposedly, they use it to gauge interest.
I’m hoping the vote number doesn’t mean we’re fewer in number, but just more passionate. My guess is the “thumb up” isn’t inherently obvious, unless you contacted Fitbit and were referred here for their generic response.
The other notable thing (Fitbit, are you reading this??!) is that besides the issues with accuracy—many have mentioned that we may have medical issues that prevent us from using a wrist-based tracker. So it’s not “just” a question of preference—it’s also a question of accessibility.
My cynical guess about why more companies aren’t investing in clip-based trackers, is that it doesn’t give them free advertising =\ Maybe it matters little to them we’ve been loyal customers for years in some cases. Why not just sell more obvious wrist trackers to casual users and move more product? While also partnering with other brands to sell accessories to wear them?? That feels like the route they’re going, but we wouldn’t know, since no representative has addressed our concerns. Since fitness trackers are now more popular, I’ve seen many people I know jump on the bandwagon, only to lose interest after a while.
@kemOxYou know, I never thought of the "free advertising" angle. But you know, I can't count how many people I've sung the praises of Fitbit too. And all because of the One. Not exactly happy with them since I discovered their only clip tracker was the rather lacking Zip. Not that it's a bad tracker - just that it's limited in features.
I'm wary of the actual accuracy of a tracker that can be worn both on the wrist and as a clip on. Are they as accurate in clip on model? I know the mechanics of the way they count steps is different between the two types.
I was also referred here to this features forum by customer service during a chat when I reached out for a replacement clip for my One. Otherwise I may never have known of it. How many other One fans are there that don't know it's here?
I wish we could vote more than once. There's a features forum for a migraine app that I use that gives each user like 25 votes, to be distributed among topics as the user sees fit. I wonder what it would like if we could throw more than one vote at this thread. I know. Pipe dreams.
Wrist trackers are not as accurate as clip ons, if you want to count steps. When I ride the exercise bike (with moving handlebars) I get thousands of steps. Same as when I'm doing the dishes! How do I get all those steps when I'm standing still? For that reason, I won't use wrist trackers anymore.
As to the accuracy of a wrist tracker worn as a clip-on—it’s way more accurate as an ersatz clip-on. I have been using a Charge 2 hooked to my bra by a mesh wrist band. At night, I reconnect the loose end of the band and wear on my wrist to track sleep. It is as reliable as my One was before it died. It is much better at counting floors too. As many others have mentioned, when worn on the wrist, it is highly inaccurate. I got thousands of steps while sitting on the couch crocheting and I also get occasional steps while sleeping—guess I moved my arms. I would much rather go back to a One—original or upgraded—than have to rely on the make-shift Charge 2 modifications.
I'm glad many of you agree that wrist trackers are highly inaccurate! Most of my friends and family have wrist trackers and poke fun when they get way more steps than me, even though I walk 5 km home from work and I do other activities. I love my One and prefer it to my ChargeHR. I've definitely hit my step goal for the day shaking out clothes from the laundry while wearing my Charge. I am also very animated when I talk and I'm pretty sure I've had steps tracked just sitting and talking.
The inaccuracy is unfair in weekday Fitbit competitions for sure too!
With respect to the clip. I also hope they make a new clip tracker with an extra optional clip that is more like a brooch/pin for someone like me who wears dresses with nowhere to clip my One (bra is uncomfortable and too obvious for me).

I almost never wear mine on my bra. I actually wear it clipped to the top of my underwear under my pants.
If you do go to the top of the page to vote, check the number of votes before you vote. If the number goes down, it means you already voted and your original vote was deleted. Just vote again and the number will go back up—and you know your vote was counted.
@Bouxx I've really only worn the Versa on the wrist (well, I also tried it on my ankle, still using the strap. Look a little like a convict on house arrest, but still appeared to work well that way). The Versa is quite a bit larger than the Alta or Charge2 ... not saying it wouldn't work clipped if somone came up with a way to hold it securely. My son has a Blaze, which he is fine wearing on his wrist, but there are times he can't (playing basketball) and would like a clip for it, but we haven't found a good option for that either. He just puts it in his pocket and it counts his steps still.
@sjhowe I also wear a One and a ChargeHR simultaneously (well, until my boys upgraded me to the Versa). In my experience, the wrist model always tracks fewer steps than my One. I set up a second account and wear them both all the time, and 95% of the time my wrist model is well under. I've even compared workout to workout (an hour of Zumba, a two-mile walk, a jog, elliptical) and it's almost always lower. Add in not tracking while pushing a shopping cart (it does pick up pushing a lawn mower though) and no amount of random arm movements during the day will catch me up to the number of steps it missed. I think there was one day when I didn't do any actual exercise, but cleaned the house, that the wrist model had more than my clip.
