I have had a One for 3 years now and love it but am a bit disappointed that some features are not available on it (e.g.. active mins per hour etc). Please can you make a new clip on fitbit with more features. I really don't want a wrist one at all.
Glad someone finally responded with something. However, from a product management perspective, here is what I don't understand from their engineers.
They could take the guts of a charge or anything but zip, put in a plastic holder like a one, comment out the scripts behind pulse and bp, and call it whatever, a two or who cares. I got a reply saying the one programming was to outdated for the tracking pages for phones and devices. So fitbit is missing the boat with a creative engineer who can put charge guts in a one holder, comment out code lines for things that don't hit vitals and release a new product. They need to think OUT OF THE BOX. I will never wear a wrist device even though I could, I just don't want a visible device, I would rather be discrete.
Daniel P, could you respond WHY this cannot be achieved?
Thanks for contacting them. If I can find the email I will contact as well. How can this guy say the battery lasts for 6 months?!? That is what they advertise. I have never had one last 2 months! Had a couple on,y lasted 2 weeks.
The Zip battery NEVER lasted for six months. I was lucky if I got one month out of it. That was the biggest reason I quit the Zip and upgraded to the One. If the battery was rechargeable, I might go back to it. Not counting flights of stairs is not a deal breaker for me. But I don’t want to wear a wrist tracker either.
I am going to respond back to them. As for the email address for Daniel, there is not one. It came from support https://contact.fitbit.com. Though the moderator may say I am violating policy again by publishing contact info.
If they are streamlining their products, get rid of the Zip that no one likes or wants and bring back the One. I just don't get it.
Well the Zip may be cheaper for them to make and to set at a low price, to attract a segment of people who otherwise wouldn't spend $120 for their other products.
It may also be that the One just didn't sell that well so they chose to have only one low-end product.
I can sort of get why they think people would prefer a wrist device with a big display, since they could show "useful" info there.
I specifically want something that tracks floors climbed and it appears the lowest-priced tracker which tracks that would be the Charge 3 at $150. That is oriented towards showing your pulse so I'd have to pay for functionality that I wouldn't use that much.
Now if you can take the bands off the Charge 3 and if there was some carrier that I could put it in and clip it to my waist or put in my pocket, that's what I may have to do, since One's on eBay cost more than $150.
I think expecting them to make another tracker like the One may be a long shot.
I appreciate your efforts and the prompt response from Fitbit however I still cannot understand the decision to keep the near useless Zip and trash the much more functional One.
if Fitbit succeeds in getting into the market of Medicare supplement and Advantage plans there will surely be a greater demand for a clip on with at least sleep tracking capability along with step counts.
YOU sound like the perfect engineer for a startup company to make s new One?
my engineer nephew always has these interesting gadgets that he orders from some website for Startups. Anyone know what that is? I was wondering if there might already be a startup company - but I would miss the great community aspect of Fitbit,
I just talked to support about my Fitbit One. I love it. I'm nervous for when it dies. I do know want a wrist tracker at all and the zip is a big downgrade.
I LOVE that I can clip my one to my bra and wear my bracelets and watches that I want.
I cannot stress enough that I think there is a huge amount of people that would like a tracker that is not on the wrist all the time.
That’s awesome; thanks for sharing that information! I’m sorry I didn’t have time to measure/get to a ruler. I’ll double check with a ruler and my clip (unless someone else gets to it first), but I would suspect the Charge 3 at those dimensions would still fit in the Vivofit clip.
The Charge 3 is snug, mainly due to the width of the screen, so I would think the slimmer profile would fitted clip better at the smaller dimensions.
As for the length, the length of the clip would accommodate something longer than the Charge 2, so it’ll fit that way but could be loose. But I suspect the clip will still hold in place.
The main reason the Charge 2 stays snug in the clip is because it’s a little wider than the Garmin. The silicone in my clip hugs it and keeps it in place.
Yes definitely! And i am so encouraged because now my step count is higher than before as it is counting the steps i take when i walk around the house completing errands...
I responded to the email that I previously received from Fitbit and their response to our wanting a clip based tracker (and not the Zip) was met with the response below.
I understand the community's and your own desire to continue with the One or for further development with our clip-based devices. As mentioned, Fitbit is always looking forward to progress our devices and user experiences, but I would be happy to address your concerns directly and forward your feedback to my team in our headquarters so that we can re-evaluate the continuation of our clip-based devices.
One thing I heard about the Charge 3 is that Fitbit is working on turning on a sensor to measure your blood oxygen levels, to diagnose things like sleep apnea.
Apparently the Garmin Vivosmart 4 has it.
That might be worth wearing on your wrist for at least some of the time.
Please bring back the Fitbit 1. It’s the best and my favorite. Why discontinue. I bought the zip and I’m extremely dissatisfied the only thing I like I can clamp to my bra. Please and thank you
Just want to add my voice to this request, since it says "We look forward to hearing what other community members think." above...
I just came to the site to replace my MIL's FitBit One and am so disappointed to discover that there are *no* clip options anymore. FitBit, this is a very ableist choice. Not everyone can wear something on their wrist and, by eliminating a clip product, you are discriminating against anyone in that situation.
Are you saying that *only* people who can wear something on their wrists are worthy of FitBit products? I have been a FitBit user for almost 10 years and have given many FitBits as gifts. This choice is disappointing and not what I expect of FitBit.
I look forward to more replies from you on this thread -- is there a new clip product in the works?
Please consider bringing back the FitBit One. Mine has a crack in the screen. I am extremely sensory, and I cannot stand the feel of any of them on my wrist. I have used the One since August 2013. I am devastated that I am not able to replace it.
I like the fit bit one and they way it clips on the clothes. I was told it was being discontinued. I really like the features of the fit bit one and the clip. Please reconsider and bring the ONE back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi @umdckj, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I’ve moved your post into this suggestion because they are very similar. Do not forget to give kudos.
I have been communicating with Daniel and he promised to be an advocate. Not sure where that will go but I am still hanging in there. Fitbit should really pay attention to our needs as there is a new clip on tracker out there. More bare bones than the One but someone actually tested it against a Fitbit and the numbers were close. Maybe they are in start up mode and will come out with a great replacement for the One. Including the link if anyone is interested.
They may be too new but may eventually get there. Kind of like many apps out there start out with iPhone only and then add the Android. Maybe wishful thinking on my part.
