Option to disable 'Water lock'

Many folks are reporting that water lock comes on when not desired. I experience this multiple times a day with my brand new Inspire 2. I do not even have Swim set as an exercise and I don't need or want the water lock function. If the button issue cannot be easily fixed, a simple solution is an option in Settings to disable the function.

Absolutely needs to have a way to turn water lock function off!!!

I too will never need it, but I have to unlock it 50 times a day…

NOTE: If a FitBit device is NOT WORKING PROPERLY…there is ZERO REASONS for your customers to have to vote for FitBit to fix do the right thing and fix the GLITCH. Glitches should automatically be added as a priority. I voted, but did not feel it was appropriate to do so. The water lock just keeps coming on; it’s a glitch and complaints go back MONTHS. I am still in my return window and now feel unsure about whether to keep it and to advise Amazoners to avoid this brand. Fingers crossed….

Please turn down the sensitivity on the buttons and waterlock. I updated my Fitbit Inspire 2 yesterday after owning it for a couple months and it keeps asking me to turn on Waterlock now. Please tell it to stop.

I just bought this and it’s driving me crazy. All day long it’s buzzing and saying “water lock.”  I’m ready to return it. I hate this.

I’ve tried all the suggestions and I’m ready to return. Maybe with all the returned items they will get the message this is unacceptable and needs fixed NOW.

This is my first Fitbit, purchased this week, and I thought I was going crazy. I don’t understand why this issue hasn’t been fixed when there are MONTHS of complaints. It’s going back and I’m switching brands if this isn’t fixed before my return window.

For the love of God, please give your users an option to disable the Water Lock! I've tried every suggestion offered in the Community by members and moderators and I still get the Water Lock appearing for no reason several times a day. Getting the Water Lock off the screen to go back to the clock face is far too complicated and worse, works inconsistently. I'm about ready to go back to my five-year-old Alta HR out of sheer frustration. Not all of us swim or want to wear our tracker in the shower. Please fix this issue! I want to love my Inspire 2, but right now because of the Water Lock I'm feeling the exact opposite.

The water lock comes on more than being able to view the time whenever I move my wrist. Also, I wash my hands at work frequently and the water lock turns on and it’s really annoying since I can’t view the screen without unlocking it. My previous Fitbits were charge 1 and 2 and I wish I just stayed with the charge line since this water lock feature interferes with my day and my work since I can’t disable it.

I just replaced my Inspire with the Inspire 2 & the water lock buzz pops up dozens of times every day. What I don't understand is why it is necessary. My original Inspire was worn in the pool without any problems - no special water lock. The Inspire 2 is also water resistant and immediately responds to being in a pool. So why have the thing buzz on land dozens of times every day. SO annoying!!!

Water lock is useless. Please provide a way to disable. Now!  I want to throw the Fitbit away.

You may definitely want to consider a redesign on this function!  I have only had my Inspire 2 for 5 days and this is Water Lock notification is the most annoying thing that has ever happened with any FitBit I have owned.  This is my 5 or 6th tracker and this constant activation is frustrating!  The idea that the solutions are to move the tracker higher up or wear it loser can totally defeat the purpose of wearing it.  Also, shutting off the button lock in Settings shuts the tracker display off totally rendering it useless for other functions.  This even activates at night, waking me up and is affecting my sleep!

I am not sure why I am seeing every comment on Waterlock for Inspire2 but would like to get to stop? It is clear Fitbit is going to do nothing about this and has failed to even respond to 100s of complaints.

Here is the response I got from Chat today: Pretty hilarious at some level”

Hello, I hope you’re having a good day. Tell me, how can I be of your assistance today?

How is it possible that Fitbit has not responded to my and 100s of other complaints about the hated "Waterlock" feature on Inspire 2? It is a feature which no-one seems to like and would like to have the option to disengae/turn-off this feature. Fitbit used to be such a great client oriented company. What happened or is happening concerning this issue?

* If you have no intention of addressing this issue, please direct me to the instructions to return my Inspire 2?
* I just bought it a month ago for Fitbit website

I'll be more than happy to assist you with your request.

* To turn on the water lock, press and hold the buttons on your tracker tap Water Lock firmly tap your screen twice. To turn off the water lock, double-tap your screen again.

Note that the water lock turns on automatically when you start a swim in the Exercise app on Inspire 2.}

That is nonsense! The feature turns on automatically for no apparent reason. It is impossible to dis-engage

* 100s of people have lodged complaints! Why don't you fix it?
* It also turns on if you are excercising and your wrist becomes damp from perspiration

I join with the many others who want the Waterlock feature removed or disabled. I never use it but when I want to check the time and hit the side button it's the first thing that appears. I am very disappointed in this watch and it is a great annoyance. I much preferred my old Fitbit.

Joined this forum just so I could add my voice to the list of people asking for the water lock notification to be turned off. I’m tired of it buzzing on my wrist 10-plus times a day when I’m nowhere near a swimming pool!

Please....i want to monitor heartrate and sleep. The stupid waterlock buzz is interfering with my sleep and increasing my heartrate because of frustration.  It is useless to me (a non-swimmer) and prevents me from using the Fitbit features i want.  Can't even read time of day many times because of waterlock notice. Make it go away!

I just got my Fitbit inspire2, and I want to return it due to the constant water lock notifications. I created an account just so I could comment on this, as it’s driving me nuts. Over the last few months you have had hundreds of comments on this issue just on this forum.  This issue needs to be fixed but it appears Fitbit is doing nothing about the problem, as it has been months of the same complaint yet nothing has changed.

Yes, please disable the water lock! It drives me absolutely nuts. I have had my Fitbit about a week and I want to return it!

I vote to disable it.  So annoying and like others, I don’t wear it in the shower and never go swimming.  So dumb that the option to disable it isn’t already an option.

WATER LOCK IS SOOOOOO ANNOYING!!!! I bought the Inspire 2 a couple of days ago because my Charge 4 died. I set up the new device two hours ago, and the Water Lock notification buzzed/popped up time I bent my wrist. I was ready to return it to the store, thinking it was defective, until I found all of the comments from other frustrated users online.

One of the moderators suggested squeezing the two sides of the device together, but that seems to have shut off notifications completely, which I don't want.

I think I'll be making a trip back to the store where I bought it to do an exchange. Really disappointing because I like that it's slimmer than the Charge 4, but I can't stand the issue with Water Lock!

Here's what I got from Fitbit Support. Just tried it so we'll see it it works!

Please make sure that the Inspire 2 is worn properly on your wrist (2-3 finger widths from the wrist). We suggest that you turn on the Water Lock setting as contact with water can activate the button. See this link for some info about the water lock: https://t.co/XZl1tgloMp. Turn on also the Button Lock setting in the Settings app of your tracker. See this link on how to do it: https://t.co/TBVULRB8aq.

Hope that works for you; it clearly hasn't for many of us.  In my case, if Water Lock is on because I intentionally or unintentionally clicked the side buttons and do not intentionally unlock it by tapping the screen once, it prevents the Inspire 2 from tracking my sleep patterns or automatically tracking my morning walk.  And the advice to use Button Lock when Water Lock locks your buttons makes no sense.  I have been told that software engineers are working on the Water Lock glitch so those of us who do not want or need the feature can disable it in settings while those who do use it can continue to do so.

I started using the Inspire 2 just 5 days ago. I have spent time everyday trying to get the water lock signal to go away. No luck. Reading here I now understand it is a constant problem for many others. Please find a way to get rid of it.
