Option to disable "Fitbit Today Insights"

I find the tips of the "Fitbit Today Insights" to be irritating in the extreme, and was sorely disappointed to find on the support boards that there is, in fact, no way to turn this feature off. I have been a happy Fitbit user for literally years and look at the app several times a day. I detest the "Fitbit Today Insights" feature so much. I use this device as a tool and have no interest in algorithmic suggestions from this company.

@LizzyFitbit Can you let us know what FitBit's official response is to this thread? I feel like we're just blowing into the wind. It would be nice to get SOME sort of response.

Nope, I don't have the option of upvoting comments. Wish I could, as I'd upvote bloody all of them. This app is driving me spare with the annoying tips!

Ugh. Those are so annoying. Fitbit, please give us the option to disable those.

I agree totally with all the other fitbit users who have been asking for this useless feature to be removed since last August.  When I contacted Fitbit Support about this, they told me there was no way to deactivate it (which, as many of you have pointed put, they could easily do by reversing the programming used to introduce it in the first place), and that I could give my feedback on the feature by using the ‘thumbs up, thumbs down’ icons within the feature (as we all have concluded, this achieves nothing because we have all done it many times and the feature still remains.). They also suggested to me that the feature was introduced because someone ‘suggested’ it.  Well, I would say they need to evaluate the ‘suggestions’ they receive more carefully.  The information provided in this feature is so rudimentary that anyone who takes enough interest in their well-being to purchase and use a fitbit, would find the information completely useless.  Forcing users to have this regularly appear over a large portion of their screen, and to have to manually dismiss it before they can use the device, is unacceptable.  In the 2 years I have had my fitbit, I have seen the device decline in usefulness and usability as the company systematically renders it more ‘gimmicky’ and more of a tool to push Fitbit products. I will definitely not buy another fitbit and I will discourage others from buying one.  For the same money, I think there are more credible products available.

I paid for this product what right do you have to force me to listen to your Tips which has nothing to do with the reason I bought this product in the first place. Unless the stops I will not be buying a replacement when this one breaks. And they break to frequently. A dissatisfied user

Unless the "Today" app is needed for something specific on the watch it would be good to be able to stop it, because in many cases it duplicates activity in the main watch face app.

Of course being able to start it would also be necessary.

By not having two duplicating processes running in parallel the battery life would obviously be longer.

The tips are really annoying. They keep popping up, even if I thumbs-down, they are a distraction. Please pay attention to this suggestion after ignoring it for so long. I don't want any tips!

These tips are terrible and so many people hate them. It’s been years, I’ve outright stopped using my Fitbit and decided not to replace it unless this is fixed.

I want to disable daily insigts and the new "mindfulness" feature. If they were at the bottom of the page, that could also work, but they're at the top. They are annoying and get in the way of me seeing the actual fitness information I want to see. Now I have to take extra steps (click the "x" or scroll down) to see the information I actually want.

I agree! Why should we be forced to have MINDFULNESS as a fitness goal? Please allow those of us who want to get rid of it to delete it. Not sure why you think it's a good idea to add something like this and not allow us to delete it.

Beyond these, how about the ability to remove Alexa or the FitBit Wallet? I have no use for either of these features on the Sense, but I'm stuck with them taking up space (both in the App and on the tracker). C'mon, if Google Assistant is coming, then what? Two tracker-based applications I don't need or want? Or is FitBit going to somehow magically add memory and processor power to the Sense so that it can clone my entire phone..?

I'm tired of the daily in-app messages such as, "Did you know adenosine is the hormone that makes you sleepy?" or similar. (I'm NOT talking about emails or push notifications, or messages from friends; rather messages from FitBit that appear at top, above your goal, each morning.) You can click "Learn More" and hit thumbs up or down.

If people make a feature suggestion, why not, after they get a certain # of votes, actually respond and say WHY this can or cannot (or will not) happen? Instead, no matter what people suggest or how many votes it gets, we only hear "We rely on feedback like yours to help us develop products and features that we know our community wants to see."
