Pay for things using fitbit

I saw an article on Facebook about an acquition of techonolgy that may allow fitbitters to pay for things using their fitbit, is this true?  if not, I'd like to recommend it.

We’re excited to let you know that the features you proposed has now been implemented on the newest Fitbit tracker, Ionic, which has a built-in NFC chip and Fitbit Pay will allow you to securely store credit cards and make payments using just your tracker.
