Permanent heart rate display during workout

As a workout enthusiast I would like to view my heart rate on my Charge HR throughout my workout without having to hit the side button.  I would like to see an option that can be set to "keep display on during workouts".

Absolutely there needs to be the ability to continuously monitor heart rate during exercise. How can you do heart rate based taking without this feature? You can't.

So i can check the seconds and do my yoga training accordingly.

After starting an exercise, it would be great to have the stats/tracking displayed on the lock screen so you don't have to unlock the phone and go into the app to see your time/mileage/etc. during a workout!

I would like to have this option as well. Its difficult to double tap or press to view. It will make you off balce on treadmill or be out of focus..

Please add my name to this list.  I would like the HR to be displayed while I run, as that is why I bought the Charge HR.  If I want to know what time it is, I can click over to that.  My heartrate is how I guage the intensity of my running.  It is annoying to have to juggle my phone and try to click through to find the HR, or tap and maybe not tap hard enough, or too many times.  Why wouldn't this feature already be on it, it IS a HEARTRATE device.  Please!

Any chance of giving us the option to keep the screen on when we are exercising? When I'm out on my bike it's really annoying, not to say dangerous, to have to shake my wrist to get any data. I realise keeping it on would drain the battery etc, but I wouldn't mind charging more often if it means I can get to see things like my speed when I'm out on the road.

Ditto what the original poster said. If Fitbit doesn't change the Blaze to allow the screen to stay in during workouts, mine is getting returned. MTB biking today trying to see heart rate and screen only comes on about 30% of the time and even when it does, takes too long. Just make it an option. Let me decide if I want to use the extra battery life.

HAving the capability to keep the screen on during workouts would be great.  I really hope they would do it.  I don't mind charging more often.

The ability to see permanent heart rate info is important for training, especially when cycling where keeping your hand on the handlebars is a safety matter.

@bigrbuk I'm not sure what is being asked here?

The Charge 2 stays on the last screen viewed.

Do you want the ability to keep the screen on, and drastically shortening the battery life?

Do you want to see live data on the phone app, a feature that all ready exists?

Screen on during workout, yes. Appreciate this would be detrimental to battery life, but as a feature I could turn on/off would be useful. I'd take the battery hit.

I also have thought of how nice keeping the screen on during workouts would be. I would love to have my screen constantly turned on, consistenly viewiable, during workout modes. This could be useful for the Charge 2, Charge HR, and even the Blaze. I wonder... has the Fitbit Development & Design Teams thoughts of creating a colored screen using electronic-ink?

I charge my tracker daily so having the option to leave the display on during exercise/workout (or leave it on all the time) would be a great feature.

Dear @nepalisherpa - I feel the same way. I am still in love the programming code to allow us users to enable or tweak display settings.

1. leave display on unless there is 90 seconds of inactivity (after 90 seconds of inactivity, with the slightest detection of movement the screen would then stay on for another 90 seconds)

2. leave display on during workouts

3. turn off wrist turn-on-screen feature during sleep modes

I also think this must be a feature. I have a Micrsooft Band 2 and it offers you to see your heart rate at all times. I think Fitbit should also add this to Fitbit Charge 2 (my new band)

Thank you. Let's hope that FitBit decides to make this a feature. It
would be very nice-- a simple SW upgrade!

I'm with everyone else, I thought I'd be able to see the HR while working out (or set it to stay displaying steps for example. happy to charge the fitbit more often if having continuous display requires it, but would like option for cts display

It sure seems like a no-brainer, as it will force us to seek competitors'
activity monitors, so I sure hope they offer a SW upgrade.

Same here ... solve this guys or it goes to craigslist ...

I'd like a toggle in device settings to have display on permanently during exercise. So that if I am running for example, I can glance at my wrist and see heart rate without having to press HR charge button 3 times to see it

Just bought the new Charge HR assuming you could continually see your HR displayed. Just found out you can't! I am very disappointed. This should be an easy firmware fix! I understand it will probably cut battery life down but I would still like it as an option while exercising!

During exercise it is absolutely necessary to see heartrate at any moment. Any watch for 20 euro can display information without charging for month. This is really stupid Charge HR cannot do it. I will return this tracker back to the shop. Fitbit should hire more professional designers that can think of the users and do not make stupid experiments.

yes, so correct. My 20 year old polar displayed accurate HR as it happened
without this was seems to be 20 second delay. My FB blaze was a gift so did
not return. bought a new polar as I need to know what my heart is doing as
it is doing it not 20 second or more later. very poor design.

I got so fed up of no response from Fitbit, I ended up buying a iWatch2 - has all the features including gps tracking and monitoring heart rate continuously during work, waterproof to 50 meters. Downside is have to recharge daily -takes less than 2 hrs - put it on magnetic no insert charger when I wake up at 6 am and it is fully charged by 7.45 when I leave for work.
