Permanent heart rate display during workout

As a workout enthusiast I would like to view my heart rate on my Charge HR throughout my workout without having to hit the side button.  I would like to see an option that can be set to "keep display on during workouts".

Seven pages of very basic request from users requiring the HR display to be constantly on during exercise and no response/action from Fitbit? Not exactly "customer focused" culture!

There are similar feature requests for other FitBit devices, but I haven't found it for Alta HR.

As for me, I need continuous indication of my HR and zone I'm in while cycling indoor and outdoor, rowing. I need to observe this indication with my hands not leaving handlebar. Zone enter/leave alerts are absolutely not enough as I need to continuously adjust my effort.

This option should be configurable, because using it means making a tradeoff between information and battery life. Every user's personal tradeoff. For example, I need it for sure while biking, but may prefer to switch it off for walking.

Thanks!

Maybe in the settings be able to decide what information you want to see during workout : duration of workout, HR, HR Zone. The FitBit knows we are active.

I work in the medical profession and I hate the SLEEP mode on the BLAZE display. I would never have bought this if I knew it was so annoying! I can't stand it when my students and patients know that I'm checking my watch because I have to nearly shake my wrist off to see the time! I would much rather have to charge it more frequently than to fight to see the display screen wake back up from sleep mode!! Who cares if I have more battery life if the clock doesn't work like a clock should work. It should have the option to just STAY ON so I can see the time at a glance. I want the option to keep my FitBit Blaze display always on. The sensitivity of the flick of my wrist doesn't work well to see the time when I'm doing most of my daily activities: working, counseling, giving medicine, typing, teaching, cycling, walking  Also, I need to be able to time things for long periods of time so having the Clock AND Timer Settings (Countdown & Stopwatch) with the OPTION to STAY ON is critical.

It would be very helpful for those of us who track our heart rate while exercising if the Alta HR had a option to continually display your heart rate while exercising.

Maybe like a double click to continuously show a display? I would like to continuously see the Heart Rate and the Stopwatch. The rest is not as relevant.

Thanks!

I have a Fit bit 2 and when  I am running or biking I would like to be able to quickly look down and see my stats.   I know the display turns off for battery conservation.  I do not mind re-charging my battery if needed, what I do mind is I need to tap the Fit bit or move it in a particular way to get the display on.

PLEASE add an option to keep the display on.

I see that many would like an option to keep the display on.  I would as well!!  For certain workouts such as rowing and biking where your hand/wrist does not move naturally in the motion needed to activate the display it would be excellent to have to option to easily switch the display on permintantly either through the app or the watch itself.

I would also be happy to charge my watch more frequently to have this an added feature.

Not only being able to keep the display on but also adjusting the brightness level, this could help in reducing battery consumption while the display is always one by decreasing the brightness of the screen.

Blaze - live heart rate zones during exercise

@Allang2376, on your PC login to fitbit and click the gray'd gear in the upper right corner.

Click the pic of your Blaze and scroll down to clock faces and pick "arc" from the choices.

Force synce your Blaze from your mobile by touching and pulling down the App screen - notice the "heart" icon in the arc of symbols - start exercising and watch the red line rise like a speedometer.  Each completed quarter arc of red is a HR Zone.  Hopefully this will help you out while you collect votes for this terrific suggestion.

I work in hospital and need to be able to look at the time without touching the Alta HR all the time-- germs and the fact that patients will notice I'm looking at the time. Please implement!

Me too!!! Same problem with my Blaze. I wear mine as a watch so I assess vitals during my work day as a PT and find it frustrating to use my phone instead of my watch because it times out in 10sec...

Hi, just bought the Fitbit Charge 2 HR. However now already disappointed by not having the possibility of showing the heart rate continuesly during my spinning excercise. And after reading this long e-mail thread and having heard the reaction of Customer Support I am not very confident it will come. Indeed not a good example of listening to the customer need. Luckily I am still in the period of exchanging it for another. Thinking about a Garmin now.....

I want the option to show the time all the time. I hate that it shuts off and I have to twist my wrist or tap it see the time. Not only is that hard during workouts, it's hard during ANY part of my life like if I'm carrying bags, on the phone and want to check the time, or any real life situation. I wanted to use this as a fitness watch, but the watch part Is not even functional. I used to own a Surge which did this all the time, I'm appalled you'd remove such a basic feature and I'm considering returning the charge 2 over it. What kind of watch doesn't show the time unless you activate it?!

I have the charge 2 and would like if the screen on time was adjustable. That way I can take a pulse with it. I feel that a lot of nurses use the fit Bit  but it is difficult to take vitals and use it as primary watch. Since it has a lack of the ability to track seconds.

I'm a nursing student and it would really help if the display stayed on for a minute or 2 to take a pulse:)

It would be nice to have the option to keep the clock/date on at all times so you don’t have to keep raising it or tapping it to see the time. That would be very helpful.

My doctor's nurse needs to have her Blaze stay on while she is doing blood pressure checks. Can you make one of the function keys turn the display on and off? I would also find this helpful. Perhaps you could do a software upgrade to allow this new feature.

Moving the wrist does not work all the time, i hate to tap the screen when i am around people, and is embarrassing but even when i do, the tapping does not work all the time (I use hand lotion - it maybe why). It will be perfect if the user is able to adjust the screen on time to be set to 5, 15, 30 minutes or always on regardless of the power usage. We know it is a trade off but having this feature will make it user friendly.

Thank you.
