Permanent heart rate display during workout

As a workout enthusiast I would like to view my heart rate on my Charge HR throughout my workout without having to hit the side button.  I would like to see an option that can be set to "keep display on during workouts".

Suggestion to have an option for the HR screen to stay continuously lit for a period of time so you do not have to continuously hit the button to see your HR mid-exercise.

Yes, the option to keep the display on for HR or time (for all other times) should be available. I bought the HR model with the understanding that the HR was 'continuos'. Need to know if there are plans by fitbit

to modify the features accordingly.

I absolutely agree, HR should be displayed continously at rest or exercise, otherwise this gadget is not worth it, I bought my fitbit HR so i can monitor my HR because I have irregular heart rate thinking that it would display my HR continously.

i dont care of display time or something all the time

but display heart rate or distance during training (press button 3s) is useful, maybe fitbit add this in the future?

I am returning my fit bit because I needed a heart rate monitor for work outs. The advertising specifically states that a fit bit is so much better than wearing a chest device. Not if I can't see my heart rate displayed on my wrist!

They should add a setting where it continuosly displays the heart rate during workouts.

"It does display the heartrate continuously during exerceise and workouts!  After starting your exercise, swipe to the left at the bottom of your screen to choose various options to display, pace, calories, steps, heartrate, etc.  I use this feature every single day."

I humbly apologize...I thought I was on the Surge Forum!

So, I will edit and add that you are correct, having to push the button to see the heartrate is exactly why I upgraded from the Charge to the Surge.

add my +1 to your suggestion for the Charge!

I purchased the HR specifically to monitor my heart rate.  Could not believe that the display does not display!  I was told to download the app but it only shows resting heart rate.  What's the point of having a heart rate monitor if you can't monitor your heart rate?  So disappointed and frustrated.  Loved my surge.  Not so in love with my HR.  Please add this feature.  It can't be that difficult.

to save battery, show heart rate 20% of time each 5 seconds.as little time as allows a glance to see. climing a hill, I am not pushing a button or tapping.  I willgo back to chest strap and ful time monitor workout watch

On the Charge it would be good to have an option to leave the display on permanently during Exercise Mode.

It can be awkward viewing the timer, and having the display on would mean you could just glance at the time

I'm very disappointed to learn that this function isn't available on my new HR Charge. I love it in every other way, but this is the reason I bought this model...otherwise, I would have sprung for the Surge.  I had no idea the readout wouldn't be constant when working out. As many others here have noted, that's the main reason for having a heart rate monitor--so that, in real time, one can adjust the intensity of work performed. I add my voice:  Please Add This Feature!

First day wearing my new fitbit HR and really surprised this is not a standard feature.  #Disappointed

Cmon Fitbit devs, how far away is this feature?

Me too.

People who do rowing as a sport avoid the fit bit because this feature is not present.

As you can imagine a rower does not have a spare hand to be able to tap or push the button.

Other sports would be the same.

I'd just like to be able to see the timer w/out having to hit the button every minute or so.

I too am disappointed that I can't keep HR display continuous during exercise mode. That was my purpose for upgrading from the flex. I wouldnt have to wear the chest belt and my Polar wristband to measure heartrate. I find it distracting and inconvenient to have to push the buttons during exercise mode. This seems like a simple fix. Please have this done by the next update!

Having an option other than auto,on and off, that will turn on the HR LEDs when you go into workout mode. I bought my charge HR to replace my heart rate monitor chest strap during exercise. Although convenient for some to see resting HR, I don't need my HR being read all the time so having an option to turn on the LEDs automatically during exercise mode button pressed and off the rest of the time would be an awesome update. I'm sure this will save battery as well.

Totally agree, I love my CHARGE HR but to make it perfect I'd love the ability to see my heart rate continuously while working out without having to keep pressing it. I regularly walk up 100 flights of stairs (as lunchtime exercise) and need to make sure I don't go over my maximum! To have a heart attack in the stairwell and not be discovered for several day isn't appealing ;-). Thanks!

Agree with all others.  Please add an option to select a continuous display of one's choice.  Those of us who want that will be willing to charge more frequently.

I would like my Fitbit Surge to constantly display my HR instead of the time. I can see the time all over the place but I really want to be always aware of my HR. Is there a way to do this now or could it be implemented with firmware?
