Personal best running

Would love Fitbit to show personal bests e.g fastest mile, 5km, 10km half marathon etc..like most of the really good running apps.  I know a lot of my running friends end up choosing the garmin for this very reason.  I think sales of Fitbit will increase with this new feature. Please consider it.  Thanks Sarah

I'm new to Fitbit, but tbh I'm absolutely gobsmacked this isn't a feature. For something that is marketed as a fitness and excercise tracking device - no personal split records is terrible!   It wasn't even a feature that i'd double check if it supported, I just assumed as complete no-brainer. Get a move on Fitbit, sort it out! x

I agree with the previous post. It's absurd that this isn't a feature.

Hi @SarahBates and commenters - thanks for sharing this idea.

One of our product managers is exploring this and is keen to know about the timing of giving you this insight. Do you want to know your PB insights at the time they happened (eg. after your fastest run) or is a later time okay (eg. at the end of the week or at another point through the mobile app).

Keen to hear what you think!

I think presenting this immediately on the watch is a nice to have, but definitely not required.  I don't need my watch to tell my I have a PR - it's fine if it's on the phone but when I've sync'd to the phone this info should become available near immediately.

I’m not too worried about my device telling me about my PB but i’d like a
phone notification once I’d synced.
I’d also like a section in the app where I could go and check my PB’s.

If real time is possible, that would be extremely motivational while
running.
Another window in app with stats would also be nice.

Having this information when the watch syncs to the phone would be great. It’s a huge motivation to know you just got a PB when you look at your workout on your phone. It’s not as much of a motivation if you are getting it a few days later on the weekly insights email.

To be completely honest though, this should have been a feature a long time ago. Because of this and some other things Fitbit is lacking, when my Blaze died a few weeks ago, I decided to replace it with an Apple Watch so that I can get these features that Fitbit doesn’t have.

Hi @LizFitbit,

Having those stats available when the Fitbit syncs with the (iPhone) app would be a mayor step forwards.

Ofcourse, having your stats available on your watch (maybe as a seperate app) and show a notification when you improve your PB (such as reaching your step goal) would be an awesome update.

Do you have any update on when we could expect some kind of feature? Or even any further information regarding this topic?

Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone thanks for sharing this suggestion. This is being discussed although I do not have a firm commitment or timeline at the moment. Our product team is is exploring this and want to know more from you. Do you want to know your PB insights at the time they happened (eg. after your fastest run) or is a later time okay (eg. at the end of the week or at another point through the mobile app).

Do continue to vote for this feature suggestion whilst it’s under consideration. Please note that if something is under consideration and chosen for development, it can be a while until it's released or until I have any news to share. Please watch this space for any updates! Thanks for your patience.

Hi LizFitbit,

I was wanting it for PB for steps for a day and for a week. I would love to
see PB on the dashboard of both the website and the app and I would love it
if we could get push notices much like we get when we are in range of our
daily goal. Something like "you're 2000 steps from your Personal Best. Get
moving"

Thanks! Hope this happens. Kc

The fitbit seriously lacks the feature of reporting. I am a runner and I would love to see how much I have run in the past 6 months (length, frequency, lap, etc.). I will also like to see how much have I improved in comparison with my best last year and this could be based on my average heart beat, time, distance etc.

Currently there is no way to bring this data out. I am sure this would be an ask for other athletes and not necessarily constrained only to running.

Would love to see personal bests for all the other measured activities. Floors climbed, distance, activity minutes, calories burned

I love my Fitbit Ionic, and I will soon begin training for my first half marathon. I love the watch itself and the GPS is spot on; however, the Nike Run Club app has a ton of features that I just discovered and have wanted for a while but can’t seem to sync my Fitbit activity. I would love to see the Fitbit app integrate things like Fastest Mile, Fastest 5, 10k, etc. Also, Nike Run Club gives a detailed training plan that is goal specific. I put in some info and set my goals, and it takes me through a week by week training plan up until race day. I would love to see Fitbit have similar features to where we can easily see our fastest run times, so that would serve as not only knowledge, but motivation.

I think it would be really useful if personal best stats were included in the fitbit app. This would show best day and best week for steps, calories, active minutes etc

Sorry to break to you @Camra1958 I don't think Fitbit is going to do anything about these. This post was made almost 2 years back. There are things that are logged more than 3 years back and nothing to avail yet. Honestly, I wish that fitbit listen to any of the forum comments

It's very strange that a fitness tracker doesn't record PBs. My husband has a Garmin which does it brilliantly. I like my ionic but this is a factor which will influence my decision when I come to upgrade.

I would expect this to be a function of the Fitbit server and the Fitbit app. I can not imagine that the tracker would keep track of this, especially when it is easy to change travelers.

Sad to see some of these comments dating back to 2014....and still nothing. FitBit has all this data, please make an effort to make it more useful to users

FitBit moderators, is it accurate these insight features like personal bests are under consideration? Its difficult to tell following the thread

Runners like always getting feedback on how a run was.  The problem with a personal best of a 5k might be that you did that 15 minute 5k five years ago when you were younger.  Now I've gained a few pounds and breaking that 15 minutes is too hard.  What might be a good statistics is best 5K in a year, best 5K this season, fastest run this month, longest run this month.

Milestones are also great feedback.  Knowing that you've completed your 100th, 200th, 300th mile this year gives you encouragement to keep going.  Or maybe I can set a goal for the year, say 500 miles.  I would then like to see my progress in reaching it...You have 487 miles to reach your 500 mile goal.

I might be missing something but I cannot see anywhere where I can see what my best 5K and 10K split times are.

I've just completed a 6.6Km run and I can see my time to complete that and my average pace and my pace per Km but I cannot see what time I hit the 5Km in.

If this is a feature and I can't find it, apologies.  If it isn't though, it really should be.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @DaBla27, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to see your personal best for your runs. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". You can learn more about it here. Keep adding these suggestions.
