Pokemon Go Adventure Sync Support

Pokemon Go is soon to roll out a feature allowing external apps (namely Apple Health and Google Fit) to track steps and distance without needing to have the Pokemon Go app running.  It would be great if Fitbit's services could be supported as well.  As it stands, Google Fit and Apple Health do not officially work with Fitbit.

I’d love it if Fitbit could work with Niantic! I’d upgrade my Fitbit ONE if this worked out. 🙂

Official support between Fitbit and Pokemon Go would be appreciated. I'd like to keep using my Fitbit for all my health app needs, but no support in the game that gets me out the most is a bummer. When it's time to get myself a new health tracker I'd like to stay with Fitbit, but I am willing to look at other products that support what I want/need.

I have a Fitbit Charge 2, which I absolutely love. That being said, I play Pokémon Go and it’s frustrating that I don’t get credit for the activity that I do while wearing my Fitbit (when I don’t have my phone in-hand), especially since my friends with Google or Apple watches/trackers do get credit for the activity logged by their fitness trackers.

With the holiday gift-season approaching, I was originally planning on purchasing a newer Fitbit model, but (and I hate to say this because I really do love my Fitbit) I will have to go with an Apple or Google device if Fitbit continues to not be compatible with Pokémon Go at that point and there are no clear-cut plans to make it compatible. Unfortunately, it just would not make sense for me to purchase another Fitbit that is not compatible when there are options on the market that are.

I really hope Fitbit takes these customer suggestions into account! There are so many people considering purchasing fitness trackers for the first time purely because of Pokémon Go Adventure sync; right now Fitbit is at a huge disadvantage with these potential customers. I would love to be able to recommend Fitbit to my friends if Fitbit is able to implement these suggestions!

Just one more voice saying that compatibility with Pokemon Go's Adventure Sync mode would be amazing!

A tip for my fellow treadmill warriors while we wait for this to get worked out: If you have your iPhone on you while walking or running on the treadmill, Apple Health will count your steps and Pokemon Go will accept them. I assume it's the same for Android devices and Google Fit. I bought a running belt last month for my first road race and I figured out that if I put my phone in it and wear it on the treadmill, I can rack up distance in Pokémon Go even though I'm not moving from a GPS standpoint! It would probably work with pockets too, but I prefer the belt because it doesn't bounce around. The only catch (ha ha) is that if you're jogging above a certain speed (6 mph maybe?), PoGo won't count the distance, same as if you're running outside.

I would love for Niantic to accept third-party activity data, but until they do, this works better than nothing.

This would make it so much easier to ensure you get credit for exercise! PLEASE make this happen.

I'm thinking of replacing my Charge 2 since the bands keep tearing up. I was looking at the Charge 3, but when Adventure Sync came out it made me seriously consider a Google device instead purely for the integration with Pokemon Go. I am still considering it! Please get with this, Fitbit.

Please please please make this happen. I was looking for a way to sync my Fitbit with the health app.  It would be great to not have to carry my phone around with me while I am walking around the house.

PLEASE make this happen. I'm considering dumping Fitbit and getting an Apple Watch ONLY for Adventure Sync with Pokémon Go. Other members of the community have expressed the same thing. You could actually lose customers over this.

So... I'll drop my personal view of the situation since activity sync launched.

Previously I had a Charge HR, replaced it with a second when I got a bubble in the band, then replaced it with a charge 2. I also have an aria scale and my wife has a charge 2. As far as I thought before the Pokémon go update, I would be moving to a newer Fitbit on the future.

But now at the gym I'm holding onto my phone to count steps for the game, and I find it annoying instead of just wearing a watch. So my next fitness tracker will definitely have activity sync support. If you come out with support before I get sick of holding a phone on the treadmill when I run, or before my wife gets me one as a gift, or before the charge 2 breaks and needs replacing, my next tracker will be another fitbit.

If you decide to not support it, or take too long, charge 2 will be my last Fitbit. I like your stuff, but this is a "killer app" feature that I WILL have. I won't wear two trackers at once, and I won't continue holding on to my phone, and I won't wait forever.

The next fitness tracker I purchase for myself and my girlfriend will 100% sync with Pokémon Go. That'll probably be toward the end of next year, so hopefully by then fitbit will work with adventure sync. If not, oh well, time to move on.

This must happed!  Talk about motivating some people to walk and move more.
Would be a fantastic addition.  Google Fit is pointless compared to the Fitbit app. 😕

My next tracker will not be Fitbit without Pokemon Go integration. Its now a must have feature your product is not providing regardless of who is at fault. Please attempt to communicate with Niantic. I don't see why they can't setup a Fitbit login option in Adventure Sync.

Adding a comment for motivating Fitbit integration...
It would be great for Fitbit to directly import stats into Pokemon Go... Having to carry my phone around with me all of the time using iOS Health is cumbersome....

...I would even settle for Fitbit integration with iOS health.

Please allow adventure sync. I am an avid user of both the Fitbit and Pokémon go app. I feel that it will not take away from my use of the Fitbit app. It’s a game that keeps us active. Why wouldn’t you support it?

I'm seriously debating going with another smartwatch for the lack of integration with Pokemon and Todoist.  I hope this gets done, and quickly.

What smart watch exactly? Apple watch? As that's the only one compatible with pgo adventure sync  The rest of the smartwatches Samsung, huawei, mi Band, etc are not compatible .

There is an app out called fit to fit which allows you to transfer your health data from fitbitto google fit which works with pokemon go's adventure sync. It's a quick fix for now

@Skyrider

you can find an app in the play store to transfer health data from other health apps to google fit

Fittofit doesn't work. All data entered from that app to Google fit is manual and therefor not allowed by adventure sync. Data will show up just fine in Google fit though, but the data won't show up in the pokemon go game.
