Pregnancy setting/mode for more accurate data

Necessary:

Logging a pregnancy is a must, as is the ammenorheic period due to breastfeeding.  These drastically affect predictions making the app useless for many.  Eg. I have entered my data since 2011.  My periods are like clock work occurring every 27 days... but I have had 4 pregnancies in that time so the app is telling me that my peiods average every 104 days.

Useful:

Option to add basal body temp and ovulation data (eg. predictor strip).

I really need this.  FIT bit is suggesting way too few calories for me!

I agree - this would be so nice! Currently 5 months pregnant over here, and wish my new Alta could help monitor my exercise and food intake as appropriate for my stage in the pregnancy.

I agree with this idea wholeheartedly. There is an entire group of pregnant women who would like this feature. I would like it for several reasons:

-to allow for increased caloric intake using meal tracker

-including the feature will encourage pregnant women to continue with moderate exercise if they can

-I use the Aria scale and would like it if the scale doesn't get "confused" with the weight gain that progresses.

It would be fantastic for there to be a setting for nursing/pumping moms.  We can burn as much as an additional 500 calories a day.  In the meanwhile I'll create a custom activity for breastfeeding, but not being able to make it recurring is why we need a setting for breastfeeding.  I'll be lucky to remember to log my custom activity daily with all that goes with caring for a newborn.

I would like to recommend bringing back the pregnancy setting and adding advancements to it. It would be nice of it monitored safe weight gain and diet plans (including drinking enough water), and To customize a Step goal for different trimesters. I was told by FitBit it was removed due to the lack of use, In my opinion this setting would be more popular of it was more advanced and offered more options.

Thanks!

Please create a setting or mode for pregnant or nursing moms!!! My calorie goals are innacurate as are my calorie burns. There is really no other program that supports mothers in this way and I would like to see Fitbit meet this need. I get that it might be an annoying feature to other non-mothers but seriously, for the majority of women this is a reality at some point in our lives and it simply isn't fair for such a large part of our health (and our children't health) to be ignored. I'm sure you could get some good pediatricians, midwives, OBs etc. to provide input and endorsements.

The option of indicating my stage of pregnancy was available when I was pregnant this past year, and I found it was just another reason I loved my Fitbit! Now that I'm postpartum, I was hoping to use my Fitbit to help me get back into my goals for food, water and exercise. It would be fantastic to have an option for pregnancy as well as post pregnancy to help us love our new bodies!

Please add a pregnancy mode. Aside from increased water consumption and +300 calories a day in third trimester please consider that weight gain should also be tracked differently - I am not obese in my third trimester, I'm normal weight + heavily pregnant. 😄 There are clear guidelines for how much weight is it healthy to gain during pregnancy, so it should be easy enough to code it in, at least for single babies and twins. It won't work for anyone, but it would certainly be a good guideline for most.

This is an important feature to have, Fitbit. Please give us nursing and pregnant moms the ability to account for those extra calories!!

It would be great to have the option to take into consideration if you are a full time/part time breastfeeding woman so as to be able to take those calories burned into consideration. Right now when i log food and exercise i get an idea of the ratio of in VS out but i also know im burning a certain number of calories being a breastfeeding woman. Having this option to subtract those calories (even an approximate number of calories) would really help me with my goals.

I definitely agree. I just got the Charge HR and I am getting back into my workout routine and am currently breastfeeding and pumping for my 5.5 month old. A pregnant and nursing/pumping function would be great to accout for increase in water intake and calories.

Please add this feature back in. It is so difficult staying on your weight targets when you are already a Mom and expecting the next one. It would be tremendously helpful if the fitbit accounted for the Pregnancy rather than the user having to do their own calculations.

I sent an email out to fit bit in regards to an idea and was told to submit that idea here so ......

I love my fit bit first off. It helps me track everything I need. I am a very busy marine wife and I have 2 boys, one of them is 4 yrs old and the other is 3 months. I love how fit bit Alta can help me keep track of my calorie intake and my water and excersize which is great since I am currently also nursing my 3 month old. That being said fit bit Alta is for helping people become active and fit in a healthy way and I will be the first to tell you as a very active family it does its job but on that same note I realized when I wanted to track my activities to burn calories it has all sorts of things all the way down to mowing your lawn which makes it apliable in so many areas because it has such a wide variation but I could not enter the activity of breast feeding. Breastfeeding has been proven to burn up to 500 calories per 24 hours when nursed every 3 hrs of that 24 hrs period. Since fit bit is so specific via weight, gender, age, and even keeps track of sleep! Why not add breastfeeding so that us nursing mothers can accurately calculate how many calories we burned while nursing for how lomg we nursed versus how many calories we are eating. This feature would be amazing to have and make my calorie tracking so much more accurate I would love it as I'm sure with all the breastfeeding craze these days most new mom's would be highly motivated to use it as well helping new mom's to properly account for thier intake and output of calories while getting to a healthy goal weight and sustaining their milk supply for thier healthy babies. Thank you for reading this and I hope to see breastfeeding on activity for my fit bit in the near future. Thank you fit bit.

Wait.

I just bought the fitbit because I heard you can use it if you're breastfeeding.

Imagine my surprise when I find out this feature isn't available anymore!

How do you other mamas log your extra calorie allocation? Manually plug in calories every day?

Bring it back and make it functional fitbit! If you don't, someone else will!

> How do you other mamas log your extra calorie allocation? Manually plug in calories every day?

I just don't. Fitbit does not measure spent calories precisely anyway, it's just an estimation based on the average value for your height, weight, age, sex, and heartbeat. It does not know your metabolic rate for example (you can only measure that with special medical tests), and I do not believe it includes percentage of muscular tissue into the calculation (though I might be wrong here).

So pregnancy/nursing calories are just another thing fitbit doesn't take into account. Annoying but oh well.

Just adding my support for this feature. I am currently adding in Breastfeeding every day as a 1 minute exercise burning 420 calories. If I put it in as the 1hr 45m average I actually nurse for, it ruins my active minutes goal.

Unfortunately doing it this way still messes up my weekly exercise goals. I have them set to 4 days of exercise a week, but now they show me exercising 7 days a week. Having a dedicated calorie allowance for nursing would stop the other figures being affected.

Please add a breastfeeding button to allow us to add additional calories to our daily plan. I add it as an activity but don't like it being included in my exercise for the week. THIS NEEDS TO BE SORTED ASAP. so many mums would be using your product to lose weight.

Please add breastfeeding and pregnancy back but make them functional so that our calorie and water intake can be accurate. Many new moms buy the product to stay in shape or get a healthy body back. Thank you!
