Pregnancy setting/mode for more accurate data

Necessary:

Logging a pregnancy is a must, as is the ammenorheic period due to breastfeeding.  These drastically affect predictions making the app useless for many.  Eg. I have entered my data since 2011.  My periods are like clock work occurring every 27 days... but I have had 4 pregnancies in that time so the app is telling me that my peiods average every 104 days.

Useful:

Option to add basal body temp and ovulation data (eg. predictor strip).

Is there an ETA as to when Fitbit will roll out a pregnancy/nursing setting on it's application? I can't understand that this is a 3 year ongoing request that has fallen on deaf ears. Many women are using other apps in order to track this, but it would make way more sense if we can track this information in one app!!! Also, please include breastfeeding/nursing as an activity. Thanks.

I'm not so much worried about logging nursing as an activity but would like my Fit bit to acknowledge the pregnancy and stop telling me I'd be fitter if I lost weight. Your new fitness feature is very lovely but I'm not losing weight anytime soon. In fact I'm going to gain quite a bit.

I agree with all of these comments. I'd love for my fitbit to acknowledge that I'm pregnant so it stops thinking I'm gaining weight for no reason.

I've only just jumped on the Fitbit bandwagon and am enjoying my Blaze so far. I'm currently pregnant and would love to see a feature for pregnancy. Anything that relates to the notable differences in heart rate, weight gain, sleep cycles etc. It would give a more accurate fitness level and body fat percentage. There are generic guides based on pre-pregnancy weight for healthy weight gain (or loss) during each trimester that could be included. For example I have made a goal to gain a certain weight, however as I gain the app increases my body fat percentage and suggests that if I lose (eg 3kg) my fitness level could improve 'this' much.

I stopped using Fitbit several years ago because I couldn't track breastfeeding with my first child. Now I'm using Fitbit again but I'm having to also use a "Leaf" tracker so that I can keep track of my calories burned while nursing. It's VERY frustrating! Fitbit needs to add breastfeeding and pregnancy, and it would be great if we could also name our alarms so that I could have one set as my daily birth control pill reminder (which my *other* fitness tracker also does).

Stop ignoring the needs of your female users or we will take our $ to other trackers that don't ignore those needs!

I agree we need a pregnancy setting. Gaining a normal amount of weight is healthy in pregnancy, but every time I update my weight it's like the app is shaming me for gaining weight lol.

In all seriousness, everything everyone pointed out above is correct. Fitbit is missing out on targeting a whole population of women who want this service.

I'm 19 weeks into my first pregnancy and as someone who has type 1 diabetes and other health problems, I'm looking to transition to a healthier lifestyle: more exercise, better diet, etc. I'd been considering getting a Fitbit to help me monitor my progress and decided to start by checking out the basic features of the app, since it looked like the app could be a great tool for helping me track my needed weight gain and the increased caloric intake due to the pregnancy. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like the app takes weight gain into account anymore and I discovered that the pregnancy features were removed because they weren't actually functioning. This was incredibly disappointing.

As a type 1 diabetic, the caloric intake that I maintain during pregnancy is extremely important to the health and safety of the baby. My maternal fetal specialist has put me on a 2000 calorie per day diet and I can't find anywhere in the app that lets me adjust not just weight gain, but the increased caloric intake. As it stands, inputting my meals just causes the app to show me that I'm over the recommended caloric intake for someone of my current weight, and I suppose I can deal with that, but it doesn't make me feel like the app and the product are giving me what I need. I feel like features that are geared towards not just expectant mothers, but perhaps people with health problems related to weight gain and loss or exercise or dietary needs (such as diabetes) would be highly beneficial, especially since this would allow not just individuals who are experiencing one of these things, but women who are both pregnant and have health problems to better manage their diet and exercise plans. The word fit is in the name of the product, but it only seems to focus on weight loss and being fit isn't just about losing weight.

I bought a Fitbit Alta HR specifically to track my heart rate because i'm pregnant. I'm completely relying on my fitbit to help me have a healthy pregnancy. I am specifically using my fitbit and the app to make sure I am eating the right amount of calories, watching my weight gain and monitoring my sleep, and monitoring my heart rate during exercises.

There is no app out there that is designed to help women have a healthy pregnancy, only apps to help you diet and loose weight. But there is much more to being healthy than dieting.

Having a pregnancy option, like the others have mentioned, would be a tremendous relief to me going through this pregnancy and future pregnancies. I wear my fitbit every second of ever day, and i would love if it completely fit to my new health requirements.

There needs to be a "pregnancy" setting in the Fitbit app so that you can track your healthy weight gain/goals and calorie intake according to the recommended guidelines for pregnant women based on your pre pregnancy weight. Right now my Aria scale and Fitbit stats are still reporting my "progress" based on the weight loss goals I set before pregnancy and will be irrelevant for the next 9 months. It is no fun to look at my dashboard any more. 😞

Please tell me Fitbit is actively working on adding this feature. Women have been requesting this be added for almost THREE YEARS!!! I'm not sure what the hold-up is, but it would be nice if someone from fitbit could at least provide an update to there response from 2016. I will even volunteer to be a beta tester if they can find a way to roll this out within the next nine months!

Yes!!! I would beta test too! I'm halfway done but, I'd be able to test any
nursing features/tracking ability added!

This is the response I got after sending a tweet to their Twitter support page: "Thanks for the info. At this time it's not yet being implemented but hopefully in the future it'll be considered. Keep you posted!"

Now, bearing in mind that I got it from Twitter, I don't know how accurate the support representative's information is.

Aarayan

It's probably pretty accurate: no company likes bad press and twitter is a
great way of drawing attention to an issue. In fact, the best chance of
getting this feature pushed forwards is probably for us all to take our
thoughts to twitter and make the issue more public...
Chimme

The funny/interesting thing is that before being directed to the "community page", I first sent my request through their Twitter support page, and I got a different response from them than Jayne422:

May 9, 2017 Me: Is there a "pregnancy" setting in the Fitbit app so that you can track your healthy weight gain/goals according to the recommended guidelines for pregnant women based on your pre pregnancy weight? If not, it would be a great feature to consider for future updates because right now my Aria scale and Fitbit stats are still reporting my "progress" based on the weight loss goals I set before pregnancy and will be irrelevant for the next 9 months.?

May 10, 2017 Fitbit Support: "That would be a great feature to have! We found a feature suggestion that fits your needs. Please share any thoughts to our product developers and show your support with this idea: community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Sug. Our Ideas Board is regularly consulted by our product development team to ensure we're delivering on what our customers need and want. See you there!"

Soooooo, my question is - "If it would be a great feature to have!", why "At this time it's not yet being implemented but hopefully in the future it'll be considered."????

Please make this a feature  .. I'm breastfeeding and want to maintain my weight .  I would find this useful . I'm actually amazed this is still an issue after three years!

This is the response I got from fit it when I asked why it had taken 3
years for them to do nothing.

Thanks for getting back. Ideas board has helped to implement desired
features, usually it takes a while & is based on how popular requests are.
The more people votes for the request, the more chances it will be reviewed
by our team to implement in the future. There's a certain process each
suggestion goes through before it becomes implemented. In this case, it has
already been conveyed to our developers and is currently under review. If
there is certain interest, it maybe implemented in the future. Let us know
if you have further inquiries.

Make what you will of it, laziness is my thought!

Can I suggest something for us to do for Mothers Day? Can we all take to Fitbit's social media with this? Maybe with the link to this thread so that they don't just brush off the issue by sending us back here. Because that's obviously what happens each time we raise the issue. Let's work together! It will be so much harder for them to ignore!

I ebf my 3mo son and got a new Alta HR today for Mother's Day. Would LOVE to have my calories burned from nursing accounted for in here!

I agree! There should be a pregnancy mode 😊 It would help all the future mama's out there! It should also be available to all Fitbit users. I have a blaze and flex2 myself.

I think a pregnancy mode would be a great future improvement for fitbit. I'm currently 9 months and throughout the last couple of months could have definatley benefited from safer exercise and healthy weight gain goals.
