Pregnancy setting/mode for more accurate data

Necessary:

Logging a pregnancy is a must, as is the ammenorheic period due to breastfeeding.  These drastically affect predictions making the app useless for many.  Eg. I have entered my data since 2011.  My periods are like clock work occurring every 27 days... but I have had 4 pregnancies in that time so the app is telling me that my peiods average every 104 days.

Useful:

Option to add basal body temp and ovulation data (eg. predictor strip).

I love that the app has a period tracker on it now,  however the is no option to put that you are pregnant so that it stops trying to guess your period. Also,  when you are pregnant, your heart rate is different and have different requirements. I think there should be a way to have new suggested goals for those who ate pregnant so that the Fitbit encourages us to walk more, drink more water, track our heart rate and exercise accurately and have the option to join communities of other pregnant Fitbit users.

it would be nice to have a pregnancy option for the female health tracker. It's hard because it keeps trying to track your period and if you're not having one for 9 months or longer it throws the whole algorithm off, thereby making the data it collects inaccurate and really not particularly useful when trying to track your female health. Especially if you're trying to use the app not to get pregnant.

I would honestly love to see the fitbit app to be able to support women during pregnancy where the body changes so much, and after birth, when women are adapting to their new lives but also really want to try and improve their bodies, but because of feeding, dietary needs seem complicated.

PLEASE can you provide a setting in the female health tracking section to log a pregnancy? This would stop the annoying reminders for my period that keep popping up! Instead you could provide info on how the baby is growing week by week etc, and also adjust the calorie settings etc.A feature for if someone is breastfeeding would also be good too, as obviously that affects menstrual cycles & calories, as well as sleep cycles etc too.

I know a moderator is just going to tell you that “this suggestion already exists and the feature is not planned, but you can add your vote to it!” but I strongly agree this needs to be added. It’s kind of ridiculous that this has been ignored for so long despite so many people asking for it over so many years...

There really needs to be a pregnant/nursing option in the period tracker. It is impossible to keep cycles accurate without this feature.

Considering the fitbit clientele is largely women, it feels very discriminatory that there is no option for pregnancy (however, there's an option to track if you've taken the morning after pill - creating an image that if you're using this product, you really shouldn't be having babies). The previous suggestion forum was brushed away despite much encouraging conversation regarding the addition of this feature. There's currently not even an option to select "pregnant" to void period predictions, let alone features that take into consideration elevated heart rate or calorie expenditure/intake, weight gain, ect... Pregnancy is an incredibly important time to stay in shape and be healthy, and the creators of this product have alienated this population. I'd like to remind the product developers that we are not all 18 year old college students, and pregnant women don't need another reason to feel discriminated against.

A pregnancy mode would be nice. That way it doesn't think you're being lazy/aren't watching your food intake. Exercise/dietary suggestions. It would be nice to know if you hit your protein, calcium, etc goals for the day. Pregnancy weight goals would also be nice.

It would also be nice to track your baby’s development. I use Fitbit for tracking general fitness, but I have to use a different app to track my period/pregnancy.

Does the Female Health Tracker still not recognise pregnancy or menopause? That would be a good start!

Yes a pregnancy mode would be great since it obviously affects weight, heartrate, and especially sleep 🙂

To truly support motherhood as the new commercials imply, Every device or base app needs to:

turn off or pause cycle tracking

turn off colored weight gain indicators

add a selectable healthy pregnancy weight gain range

add a selectable 250-300 calories to base maintenance for extra caloric needs

Remove lowering fitness evaluation scores based on resting heart rate increases

A+ additions or apps:

tracks weeks of pregnancy

adds physiological symptoms common to each week

adds contraindications to types of exercise based on things like the effects of relaxin

adds a bedrest or restricted activity mode

adds loss reporting that immediately restores to preset normal function

adds a kick counter

adds feeding timer

Agreed, I stopped logging my activity on my fitbit when I found out I was pregnant and switched to a pregnancy app on my phone. I came back today to see if one had been added yet and I am sad to see that there still isn't one.

I would very much like not only a pregnancy mode but to also be able to include nursing.

Hi! It is really odd that Fitbit added all the features for female health without an option to indicate to the app that such person is pregnant. I'm currently expecting and although I'm still active and exercising, my heart rate has changed. And Fitbit thinks that I'm worst shape as it incorrectly assumed that a higher resting rate means sedentarism.

Also, had to mute all reminders for period and ovulations 😛

I think we should be able to

change our status in the female tracker to pregnant or even breast feeding to make this more accurate. I’m currently

pregnant and it’s annoying/upsetting to see the app trying to continuously tell me my period is predicted. Also it would be nice to track pregnancy symptoms here. It seems obvious that you should be able to add a pregnancy.
