Another reason for turning off the Charge 6 is that whenever I fly on a commercial airline, the tracker gets thoroughly confused. On a recent mid-day flight from Las Vegas to San Francisco (same time zone), the app reported 11,000+ steps and 0 hours of more than 250 steps. Similar thing happened on the return flight, except both step count and hours of > 250 steps were both zero. Scrolling through the display on the Charge 6 showed the same numbers. I would gladly sacrifice RHR and sleep metrics to keep the activity metrics accurate.
There are definitely times when you have to leave your tracker behind, and everyone is aware that letting a lithium battery completely drain is terrible for it's longevity. Please help us keep our trackers for longer and reduce e-waste, thanks!
I just drove 2 days on a motorcycle, barely walked anything, but each day I get +12000 steps. So all data in the app comes in wrong. An option to turn off or don't track seems basic and nessecary
I would like the option to turn off my charge 6 as I ride motorcycles and even off my wrist the vibration causes the tracker to rack up steps and running down the battery. It is not keeping accurate data.
There are times I know the data will be inaccurate and an option to turn my Charge 6 off would prove a much simpler option than creating other options such as menu options or logic for each and every other condition in what I'm sure is minimal processing and storage space. Part of why I love the Charge so much is that it is simple enough to infrequently need to be charged.
Which leads to the second point--when I travel for just a little longer than the battery can handle, I would like the option to turn my Charge 6 off on days when I'll leave it in the hotel room anyway and perhaps not need to pack the power cable.
I have to use another Bluetooth device daily, for a short time. This is impossible as long as my charge6 is conected. So give a chance to turn off my charge6.
On the charge6 where i can restart, add turn off option.
This is really surprising (and disappointing) that a basic feature such as turn off is not available on this device...
I'm wearing that band only for my workout session and I want to have the ability to turn it off when I'm not wearing it. This is in my opinion a terrible product choice, as there are many use-cases that justify a turn-off option.
Battery could not be changed on such form factor, meaning that when it's dead, you just have to throw the all thing, leading to e-waste disaster.
I really hope the dev team will soon adress this topic via a firmware update
I've forgotten to bring my charger and I'll be away for several days on a boat. I wanted to turn it off to save the battery and was amazed to find i could not. Now it will go flat and won't be able to be used till I get back home. Surely this is an easy update to the firmware?
@AndiHoffiturning off your device for months, stresses your battery the same way as switching off for months. To keep your battery healthy, it must be charged and discharged regulary.
Lithium-ion batteries are best stored at 40 to 60 % charge. Storing them at full load is not too bad either. The worst you could do, is a deep discharge. And a good way to achieve that, is to deplete it and then put it away.
And since the Charge 6 cannot be turned off, the latter one is the only way you can put it way for a few months.
