Rearrange or customize Charge 3 & 4 apps/stats view/Today

I'd really like the ability to rearrange the built in apps on my Charge 3. The app I'll use most often is the Weather, which is on the last page! I have to swipe a bunch to get to it. The next one would be the timer app, which is on the second page. The most frustrating part is that on some of the help pages, the images show the apps in a different order! I've spent ages trying to figure out how to adjust it.

I was really hoping for the ability to change the tiles and display in the latest update. But it looks like it only added another one I’m not interested in. My resting heart rate.

The ability to customize the tiles and the display would go a long way to helping me maintain my exercise goals and how I use my watch to track them.

At this point nearly all my exercise tracking is done with the app.

I would also love to be able to re-sort and disable menu items, especially in the swipe-up screen (stats for steps climbed, etc) but also for apps like weather. I have just moved from a Charge 2 and was very disappointed not to be able to do this.

Personally, the very reason I choose to use a Charge rather than a ‘real’ smartwatch has nothing to do with price, but minimalism. The charge 2 was able to be configured to give me only the data I wanted, and nothing else. It’s a shame this can’t yet be achieved on Charge 3.

PLEASE bring this to Charge 3!! 🙂

This has been suggested a lot, so who knows how much attention it'll get.

I've had the Charge 1, Charge 2, and I bought a Charge 3 today.

The Charge 3 doesn't let me add/remove menu items or re-organize the ones that are there. Since I don't use this for heart rate monitoring and there seems to be a bug with the sleep tracking stat, that means I have two whole screens of useless nonsense that I cannot get rid of.

In addition, the thing has apps. Weather? Fun! However, I don't use any of the other 5 or 6 apps and I cannot get rid of them.

Basically, 2/3 of the stuff currently populating my menus are things I have no interest in, can't use, or don't want to use.

The ability to customize the menu and remove unwanted apps really needs to happen. I'll be returning my Charge 3 until that happens.

Oh yeah, apparently the Inspire and Inspire HR can't customize menus either. Add that to the list too. Goodness.

Any updates on when you will be able to customize stats on Fitbit charge 3? I really don’t want it to scroll through all of my stats. Thanks!

You are unlikely to get an answer to your most reasonable request.

I agree completely - I really like the customizability of the Charge 2 and would very much like to see the same with my Charge 3

Already 343 comments explaining the need for this very basic control, and what more can I say?  If we can remove the information from showing in the app, why can't we remove it from the Charge 3 display of the device where space and convenience is a premium? Maybe I'll be going back to my Alta after all.

Agreed.

I would like to be able to remove the female health tile too. Scrolling through my Charge, I don't need that OR my weight on display to anyone else thanks.

Yep, this was one of the first things I looked for. I want pace, dist, hr on a single display screen when running. Also need it to stay visable for longer than 3 secs so I can read it all while jogging!

I feel like they're just trolling us now. Everyone on this thread wants to be able to customise the layout so they can see what they want to see, make exercise easier, hide private information, etc. and nothing has been done. Half of my Fitbit hasn't worked since day one (Sleep Not Tracked, water information won't update, weight won't update, fertile days/period indicator won't update, etc.) and icons keep appearing and disappearing. If I'm forced to have all of these things that I don't want, then they have got to work! But they don't! So I exchanged it for a new Charge 3 but the same thing has happened, so I think useless, unwanted icons that don't work are just part of the package. The screen is too cluttered and it's annoying to have to scroll through so many things to get to the info that I want to see. Their solution? Add another icon! Resting heart rate! Why do I need to see that on my wrist? Not only that, but since that was added, it glitches out a bit and it takes multiple swipes to go down. This is such a joke. I've been with Fitbit for so long and I feel duped and let down.

I was oh-so-close to switching to Withings Steel HR sport before I backflipped and upgraded from Charge 2 to Charge 3. In terms of customisation it's a real step backwards from Charge 2, and I regret it. I should have gone the Withings (and if they don't address it, I'm sure I will in the end). I have had five Fitbits, and this will be my last. It's a shame, because Charge is now very close to greatness! It's an attractive, minimalist piece of hardware with no-longer-minimalist-friendly software on it.

I suspect Fitbit want you to to upgrade to a 'true' smartwatch if you want customisation again, but they are not the answer. They may be highly customisable, but they just put too much technology on your wrist IMO. The very reason I have a Charge is because I don't WANT the 'tiny-smartphone-on-your-wrist' experience of a true smartwatch. I just want a good passive tracker with some useful stats on it… kinda like the Charge 2!

Agree. Would be good to have the feature to select interface we want on the watch (especially not needing to show the weight, period etc when showing the features to a friend *sigh*)

This please. I would like the ability to reorder them, and delete the ones that I don't use.

Had it on the Charge 2. Thought the Charge 3 would be an improvement, not a regression.

As there was with the Charge 2, there should be an option to customize what you have in your display and menu. For example what order things appear in or what appears at all.

On the Ionic, I would like to change around the weight target and the actual weight / loss tiles, so the actual weight is the one that shows when you just scroll down.

Please do this. It will make it so much easier,  because I like to check my heart rate while I am running but I have to scroll past steps (which I can already see on the clock page) and hourly steps and I just makes it more difficult to check. Being able to rearrange the order of the stats would be really helpful.

There should be the ability to change what you see and in what order on the Charge 3 like you could on the Charge 2, not having it is a step backwards when things should get better with new models.

Totally agree on this. I only want my calorie burn to show up on my watch so it’s a bit annoying to have to scroll through all the unwanted elements.

I bought this Charge 3 to replace a Charge 2, I'm very disappointed I can't customize the watch face to see the disired face and apps. I may return it if it can't be resolved.

I really hope this is coming soon. I want to see my hourly steps, and my total steps. Not interested in calories burned or weight lost on this tracker (I do that elsewhere).

Just forcing every stat in the order Fitbit chooses is a backward step.

So this device has been out for 8 months. This software feature was available on the charge 2, and yet it’s till not available in the Charge 3.  Instead when we first set up our charge 3 hidden by default are social features such as sharing our status with the public or our friends with the option to turn them off buried deep in menus which might be available on the device or on the app or perhaps or the website version. Then we also get reminded by default for not taking 260 steps an hour every hour   Or we get annoying notified when we archive default  goals for farting. And I thought Facebook was invasive and deceptive. Ha!

I don’t even need customization of the order of the apps on the charge 3, just the stats that appear when I swipe up. I removed weight and water from the “Today” section on the Fitbit app, so why are they still appearing on my Charge 3? Choosing what stats to display on the device itself is a feature so simple it was included on the charge 2, so why isn’t it on the Charge 3???

Justskittles

Hey DarceyP,

I remember finding a way to disable those “today” stats which removed them for me, but that was ages ago.  I had to reset my Fitbit  (trying to fix battery issues) and now I can’t figure out how to disable them!  Where is the “Today” section on the Fitbit app?

I of course have to agree with this masses, when I first got my Charge 3, i said “ok, it’s kinda lame, but it’s a new system with lots of recoding to do”, but after all this time it’s become sad this feature is still not available.  They are probably holding out so they can tout it as a great new feature on the Charge 4.  Smiley LOL

Similar to this forum, I use the Fitbit 2 “Retro Double Stat” and of course, there used to be a way to customize order and visibly.  After my recent reset the “Floors” stat always seem to show up first and it driving me nuts!  Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix?  (And there’s probably a better forum to ask this on)

Here’s wishing to getting back our lost features, (Before the Charge 4)! Smiley Very Happy

Erik, I also use the double stat watch face. I think it remembers the last stat you looked at and displays it first. The problem is sometimes mine doesn’t wake up when I look, so I have to tap it to see the time, which changes the stats, or sometimes it just gets bumped and changes the stats. ☹️

I really don’t understand why Fitbit dropped this functionality with this version, or why they haven’t done anything to fix it since this forum post was originally started.
