Restore real time heart rate indicator on Fitbit app

This dashboard update is awful. Removing the current heart rate zone eliminated a feature I used constantly. Of all the bad things about this update, this is the worst. Others include the wasted screen space, unnecessary section and block headers. There is a new lack of flexibility & I’m forced to show stuff I don’t want to get at info I do want.

1. Click on the 'Edit Icon' which is the pencil shaped icon to the right of 'Today'

2. There are 5 preset options and 1 customise option for "Focus'. Choose the  'Improve Heart Health' option. This will now become your primary focus on the app. This will be synced in real time with your watch.

I have a Pixel 8 Pro, with Android 15.

I have  Pixel Watch 2 with version 3.1.1.689482174

I have Fitbit Version 4.28.3 but I do not subscribe to Premium.

If I follow your instructions I get:

Make sure your watch is currently synchronizing to your app.
If it gives you a range instead of the current value, do a pull-down to force a synchronization. It would usually work.

This issue " the removal of real-time heart rate monitoring on Fitbit" has not been resolved for Android in particular Google Pixel Watch 2 using Fitbit on a Google Pixel 6 phone. The one gentleman here experienced this just as I when Fitbit 4 was released  this function stopped working. He was able somehow to get Fitbit 3.8 re-installed and running. The real-time function returned. I paid a lot of money for this watch you need to restore this function for me and my friends here.

I have had the real-time feature disappear. I have reinstalled both Fitbit and Google Pixel Watch 2. If I press the side button and select the fitbit exercise app(from the pull down apps) and start I get a fitbit start up on my Pixel 6 Android that lacks real-time heart rate. If, however, I scroll left or right and select the quick start exercise the fitbit app on my Pixel 6 Android phone the real-time heart rate works.

Totally agree—the real-time heart rate was one of the most useful features. It’s frustrating when updates take away key functionality instead of improving it. Hopefully, Fitbit listens to feedback and brings it back.

Absolutely. I used to check live heart rate all the time.

I regret that is not so on my Pixel 8 Pro.  I have followed your steps
and real time heart rate is still not visible.

MarkIndia - thanks - I scrolled a lot and have found a post of yours with a photo, but that just shows how to get Heart Health as the focus.  It does not show the feature - realtime heart rate working.  Please confirm your phone type (iphone or Android, maybe Pixel 8 Pro?) your watch type (Pixel Watch 2 or 3? ) PLEASE!

I am with Hugh I have been doing  everything as MarkIndia has suggested. I still only get the range Hugh sees. Other 4 options selected function but the Improve Heart Health option and the Custom Preset option with Heart selected, just take me to the Heart page with no real time heart rate showing. This all function before the "upgrade".

I'm sorry you are unable to see the real time heart rate on the phone app.
Try updating the app from the App store or Google Play. I am able to see
both the range and the real time heart rate once I start to move.
I have a Versa 2, use an android recently upgraded to Android 15. I
periodically update the app.
I wish Fitbit would advise or give their comments on this

Thanks for the update, MarkIndia.  Now I know why yours works but it doesn't for the rest of us - who wear a Google watch!
When I had a Versa Lite it worked perfectly.  When I changed to a Google Watch 2, it stopped.  It is irritating, because the new watch has lots of clever stuff but is missing this one function.  I will stop fretting about why yours works and mine doesn't!

We still don't have real time heart  rate monitoring using Fitbit app version 4.40. I have a Pixel 6 phone and a Pixel Watch 2. On either a bike or a stationary bike with arm levers we need to be able to see our heart rate. Having to look at the watch is just not the same as looking at the phone using Fitbit app. While the audio zone feedback is great, the real time feedback make it much easier to control heart rate. This has been a major disappointment and should be an easy fix as y'all have already done the same thing on an iphone. You should be supporting your own Pixel phone more than the iPhone anyway.
