Restore the Functionality we had in Charge 2 for Charge 3

When I pre-ordered the Charge 3 it was only because I had cracked the screen on my Charge 2. $150 later, I expected all the same great features of the Charge 2 in a water resistant package. This tracker is truly a step backwards for Fitbit. I've been a loyal customer for years and years, owning multiple devices and always looking forward to new releases. Never have I been so disappointed by a Fitbit product.

When I first got this as a new release in October 2018, I assumed Fitbit was still working out the kinks and we'd receive software updates to restore all the functionality of the previous model. It's been 6 months and your customers have been patient. I continue to check the forums here for updates and you continue to provide the same canned responses. New products have been released, yet this one (an "advanced tracker") is still an inferior product to the previous model. I don't use many of the tracking options provided; we used to be able to remove those from our screen to streamline the display for a superior user experience. Now, we are stuck with every single option on the screen that we cannot remove or reorder. I use an Aria to track my weight. It's a wonderful product and I love the ability to see my stats in the app. I do not, however, need to see my weight on my watch. I'm not sure who would need to access that or their female health tracking on their watch. The fact that you are not allowing an option to customize the user experience is mind boggling.

I've gone back to wearing my badly cracked Charge 2 and I'm considering buying a used one. My new Charge 3 is sitting in a drawer and I am waiting to see if I just need to sell it or if Fitbit will actually respond to its loyal customers and let us know if we will get all the old and wonderful functionality back. I will never buy a new release Fitbit product again.

Hi @szzz9 thanks for sharing your suggestion. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Let's see what others think.

fully agree, mind blowing ty see that with the Fitbit Charge3 rather then developing (aka read making something better or more useful) the line they decided to degrade the functionality compare to the Charge2 and Charge HR, simply things like you mentioned re-ordering the metric screens on the tracker screen has been removed ...

I completely agree. I would go back to my Charge 2 if I could.

Upgraded to the Charge 3 due to a cracked screen, and had problems from day 1, loved my Charge 2, and expected my 3 to be all that and more, dissapointed

My Charge 2 stopped working so I bought a Charge 3. The main function I used on my Charge 2 was the short cut (home button) to quickly access the stopwatch. I use this for my work everyday. The Charge 3 does not offer this function for some reason? The home button brings up notifications on/off and screen wake on/off. Why? Once these have been set who would need a quick function to change these settings? A lot of people would like to access the timer / stopwatch with one press though. Can you explain why this is not an option on the Charge 3 please? Could the home button not be customisable so users can decide what to quickly access? If not, please bring it back to the stopwatch. I would go back to my 2 if I could and will surely not continue with Fitbit after this one. I don't want to but may have to go down the iWatch route 😞 The Fitbit works for me but only with quick access to the stopwatch with one press. The Charge 2 started the Stop Watch by pressing the home button which was brilliant. Why not on the newer Charge 3? Thanks for reading this and I'd love to know if this function may come back.... Kind regards,

First Steps

Today I purchased an Inspire HR for the same reason—my Charge 2 has a cracked screen. I'm so disappointed that both the Inspire HR and the Charge 3 have taken such a step backwards, even though they are newer products. I expected the same features that my Charge 2 has (except for floors climbed, since the Inspire HR doesn't offer that), but with new swimproofing, and yet it isn't as customizable! I do not want calories, resting HR, days exercised, etc. to be displayed on my watch. I had my Charge 2 set up with just what I needed access to throughout the day, and it's illogical that such a feature doesn't exist in the Inspire HR and the Charge 3. I will be returning my Inspire HR and using my cracked Charge 2 until this gets fixed for both the Inspire HR and the Charge 3.

Stepping Up

From all of the complaints/comments/suggestions within the Fitbit Community forum, it seems that either:

  1. Fitbit is ignoring its customers, OR
  2. Fitbit's vision regarding desirable features for the Charge 3 is misaligned with its customer's needs, OR
  3. Fitbit needs to implement a different development team...one that can develop/implement many of the features desired/suggested by its customers.

First Steps

Just upgraded Charge 2 to Charge 3.

Googled to find out how to do various things I used to do.  (e.g. remove app, change order)

Found myself in all kinds of threads asking for exactly what I wanted.  But they are all locked, couldn't even vote for anything.

What did you guys do?  Ship the product before the software was finished?  And then decide to just discontinue it rather than finish it?

Extremely bad impression of your products and company now.
