Update 447 or earlier has changed the stride length settings to eliminate fractions of the chosen unit. Now the setting is only in whole numbers of either centimeters or feet and inches. I had perfected determining my stride length on an Olympic sized oval track and over 5 laps (2Km), by trial and error, corrected my selection to 87.4 cm.
This causes an error in distance of exercise when stride length is too short. My 2Km is approximately 2300 steps, with a .4 cm error on each step requires an additional 9.2 meters. In other words my race is 9.2 meters (30.2 feet) longer than my competitors. It's a longer error if stride length is calculated by inches.
