See previous days' data across all tiles in mobile app

I like the layout of the new IOS app.  I wish that when I switch days to look at previous days' data that I could have ALL the tiles still change to the previous day's information.  Right now with the updated app only the daily goals change to the previous day's data and the calories in and calories out stay with today's current information.  This is not helpful to me if I am trying to quickly see how I did yesterday which I definitely do sometimes.

Yep, this is a basic and intuitive feature that should be there.

OMG YES I TOTALLY AGREE.

Such a rubbish update!

The new dashboard is good, but the best part of it was being able to scroll through the days and compare information as a whole very quickly. Now I have to click on each individual stat, which I a bit tedious!

Please change back...not helpful this way!

I agree. This is a much needed update. It would be nice if it were an option in the settings to keep it the way it is and give us the choice to change all tiles if we want it to!

I completely agree with the poster. I have not been happy with FitBit when it comes to their app. Since the permanent change to this newer dashboard and the firmware update the app has gone down hill. Its inaccurate, glitchy and more. I also dont like a lot of the changes. They have taken some the best stuff and removed it completely or made it to where you have to jump threw hops and barrels to get to what you want. I too noticed what poster said where if I want to see quickly my caliories for the previous day and days I used to be to click an arrow etc to see it and all info shown would be that for that day. Now today and yesterday I go to try to do that and for at least the calories tile it only shows todays date like even when I am viewing info for the 17th or 18th it still shows for that title the 19th today. I want to see all of the 18th's info when viewing the 18th. Please Fitbit change things back to how used to be.

p.s. I was also told the some of the same others who have commented here. 1. that I should comment here and 2. sounds like this calorie title only showing todays date is on purpose for lack of better wording. I am really starting to dislike fitbit more and more I used to love them. I may have to look into another app to use that has same features but works better and a new fitness watch too. Such a shame.

Why do you have to ask us

to vote on bringing back useful features. Who was idiot who decided to remove the feature and make app useless?

It's ridiculous that I reported this to tech support when they first removed the previous day's' views functionality (and also the blue, red, orange, yellow, green color changes, which were motivational for me, when I was getting close to reaching a daily goal), and it doesn't "count" because their Customer "Service"/Tech Support team failed to be able to enter it in some Jira or other software bug/enhancement tracking tool.

You will never make end users happy when you remove functionality. You make them less happy when you discount their feedback.

I agree with all of the comments I have read referring to the previous day stats not showing unless you click on EACH Indivual tile. How counter productive, not to mention confusing is this?

I only use the daily step counter and sleep stat. However just for giggles I entered 24 oz of water for today. I went back three previous days and wow it shows I logged 24 oz that day, except I didn't actually log anything for that day. But according to my dashboard I logged this. I know, I need to click every little individual tile to see what it really recorded for that day, how redundant.

Didn't Fit Bit consider this might be confusing, and more importantly frustrating and counterproductive? FitBit has thrown common sense right out of the window on this one.

I can tell by the dates of these frustrating comments going all the way back to 2016- current, Fit Bit still seems to feel this is a great process.

Not all new processes are good ones. This is NOT a good one. Please let us have our common sense, time saving, stress free  process returned to us.

Respectfully,

Fit Bit Customer

I can't believe they still  haven't implemented this change. Exactly what use case were they designing for here? When would anyone want to click back for previous data but still be shown today's data??

Ps. Voting for this to be fixed but not just for iOS - Android too please!

I totally agree

the dashboard should should the info as per each day - otherwise what's the point of being able to scroll backward and forward through the days

I don't want to click into another screen to see what I've done on previous days

I want the dashboard to be a One Stop shop ... !

I completely agree and wish this was a permanent feature, to match the functions on my desktop dashboard.  Kind of stupid that it doesn't.

Agreed. I went back and forth with the support team thinking they had a flaw in their update. I really miss the features they had before. Now it's just a pretty screen but less user friendly.  Please change this!

This is crazy.  The Android app discussion on the new Dashboard refers to the iOS discussion on having the ability to view previous day's data on all tiles, like sleep and hourly goals.  It's crazy you took away this functionality and then took away the ability to revert back to the old dashboard. What good is having the app if I have to login to the web browser page to see the data I need to see? Yes, I realize I can click on the tile and get detailed data, I just want the functionality of being able to scroll back and see my previous days. Please, please, please fix this wicked functionality bug. Surely you don't want it that way. Do You? ~Andielyn

Yes, I think Fitbit's arrogance knows no bounds. To ignore this code or design bug for so long.

And they have presented ZERO defensible arguments for their current design. Heck, as I pointed out repeatedly, their old iOS dashboard, the new dashboard in earlier beta stages all had the right behavior. AND their current online dashboard has the right behavior, too.

It's only the current iOS (and Android?) mobile app dashboard that has this bug.

It could be such a simple fix too.

its frustrating as it's obvious it would add value, and was there but 'improvements' have moved thinks backwards.

FitBits lack of acknowledgement of the issue is quite sad too. With this and the recent issues I've had with my Charge2 it makes me tempted to ditch the whole thing. Withings looks quite tempting right now...

Hey Fitbit, how about a response????
TheRealSTB

Sadly, the main response has always been: "Just go post this as a feature suggestion and we will read it."
And then of course they "blackhole" our posts and never give us any real response.

The sadder part is that even phone customer support is trained to use this scam of redirecting you to their blackhole forum.

Agree - old dashboard with color progress indicators provided better motivation and data clarity.

And customer "service" telling us WE have to go report this crappy interface issue AGAIN on this site that is ignored, after we already took the time to call them, is absurd!

Maybe I should check out the Garmin product line all the personal trainers at the gym have switched to...

I just Googled this issue, because I thought it was a bug, glitch, or something I was doing wrong in the app! That's how nonsensical it is to only display the current day's data in the calories, sleep, water etc. tabs. I hope FitBit sees this post from OP and makes the change for the next app version.

I have been following this thread for months and months - ever since I reported it to Fitbit what I thought was a programming error.

Fitbit, when will you respond to us so we know what to expect?

We shouldn't have to threaten to leave the platform or admire another product's features and functionality publicly to each other, in a user's forum, in order to get a response.  The purpose of these forums is for your clients to voice concerns and for you, as a company, who my guess is would like to keep those clients who are loyal enough to care about your user interface to post a comment, to respond to our collective concern.

Will you be modifying the user "tiles" to track past days data or not?  It's a simple quesiton - yes or no?  Thank you.

We got this response from fitbit support back in late May after a lot of back and forth emails about the issue, so really hope we see this change land soon!!

Hi,

We appreciate your feedback and we do apologize for the inconvenience.

We respect your position regarding the changes that we previously applied to the Fitbit dashboard interface. Our product engineers envisioned that the implementation of the new dashboard will bring a more positive impact on how the users navigate and see the information that they need through the Fitbit app and we regret to know that this did not work well for you as it was intended.

We’ve passed your recommendations along to our engineers.

We look forward to getting this feature back on our dashboard, as the majority of the Fitbit family has also suggested this feature back.

Let us know how we can be of further assistance.

Sincerely,

Danna C and the Fitbit Team

I called.  Was told by customer "service" my "vote didn't count" (complaint wouldn't be "heard") unless I took the additional time to record it here.

Absolutely unacceptable that one of the forum members has to share a separate message thread from 2 months ago for this audience to get a response at all from FitBit.  Follow your own rules!
