See previous days' data across all tiles in mobile app

I like the layout of the new IOS app.  I wish that when I switch days to look at previous days' data that I could have ALL the tiles still change to the previous day's information.  Right now with the updated app only the daily goals change to the previous day's data and the calories in and calories out stay with today's current information.  This is not helpful to me if I am trying to quickly see how I did yesterday which I definitely do sometimes.

People have been complaining about THIS DASHBOARD FOR OVER 18 months!!

I HATE it.

The previous version was far more intuitive (what kind of user focus groups DID you use to get this tile crap validated?!?!), and it's colored progress indicators (progressing from aqua to red to orange to yellow to green, I think...) far more motivational than what we are stuck with today.

But I've tried to adjust. Here's the thing:
It is not just me who cannot comprehend why Fitbit's software development team thinks leaving old data presented is wanted or acceptable, when a user scrolls backwards in time to view previous results. I also cannot imagine what kind of technical architecture mess must have been put in place - because with ALL these negative comments, and ALL the releases you've put out since the complaints started, why on earth wouldn't you have triggered the database queries to reload the historical data refresh each time the screen rolls back to a previous day's view is just beyond me... It should be a simple programming fix: just DO IT ALREADY!

But EVEN MORE INCOMPREHENSIBLE:
Your "Customer service" team ACTUALLY THINKS ITS ACCEPTABLE to take a customer's call, that he/she makes the time to actually place to you, to say, "Hey, guys, your software is broken - the data is not refreshing properly..." And be inexplicably told, "No, we MEANT it to do that..." (An excuse I tried in college, by the way: It wasn't accepted then, either...) and THEN be told, "YOU have to go to the user forum and report it. Our developers go there to prioritize issues to work on..."

Seriously?!
No YOU go to the back room and TELL your developers you've gotten thousands of calls about this stupidity. And hey, LOTS more folks have been writing about it in this stupid forum for YEARS. Aren't any of you actually reviewing it?! We've been telling them to go there to complain for forever... Woops...!

Fix it.

Or, hey, don't.
I already asked Santa for my new Garmin...

That may be, but we don't know if it went from bad to worse for those people. I do see, however, most complaints are about similar things...the data doesn't refresh across all fields.

This needs to be changed. It is annoying and I feel like it throws my logging off track.

I don’t know how old this thread is but as a returning customer for Fitbit I preferred the old app as the dashboard showed me details for the previous days in one click.

I used Fitbit in 2015-2016 (just before this update I guess) and came back to it today. I must say, the app of one of the top reasons for me to select Fitbit, because I knew how well it performed. However when I checked it out, I realised there was something wrong. Please please bring back the UI where the dashboard shows you the previous days data in one click and we don’t need to drill down to each and every tile to see or compare the different days.

Hi everyone thanks for sharing this suggestion. This is being discussed although I do not have a firm commitment or timeline at the moment. Do continue to vote for this feature suggestion whilst it’s under consideration.

Please note that if something is under consideration and chosen for development, it can be a while until it's released or until I have any news to share. Please watch this space for any updates! Thanks for your patience.

Thank you @LizFitbit. I’m glad that they are considering this finally! It will really help functionality of the app.

Hi,

I understand that the torture may end somewhere on the future but not near future and this possibility should please us. I think this community has been begging for months and we all deserve to hear something more solid.

Why don’t you make it optional? Why can’t we choose between old version and new version? It is not an expensive solution which will also take really short time. This solution will not hurt anyone, will actually please everyone.

Hope to be heard faster because our unheard screams were another reason of our disappointment.

Here’s a hint. Back To The Future. Like around 2015ish. As a former programmer we recycled code all the time.

Thanks for the response.

Hi Liz,

Thank you for giving us a little feedback in the mean time. But:

It’s a bug in the architecture of the app, not a feature, we are complaining for such a long time. Not understanding this difference tells us a lot ...

So let‘s hope for some enlightment of the decision makers.

Kind regards

Hey Liz,

Great to hear that! However, considering that the post is so old, I think your team must work a little faster.

If the time from “Under Consideration” to “Deployed” is too much, then you will see a lot of FitBit customers convert to Garmin or something else.

Please act fast (your older version of the app will do)!!

I completely agree with everyone here. Please go back to the old way the stats use to be displayed. I liked looking back  to previous days and seeing my steps and other features displayed correctly.

I wanted to add to the chorus of "this is a bug not a feature." If it we're truly a feature, you could have made it more clear what was happening in the past year. Instead you're making your customers spend hours of their time researching, calling, and questioning their sanity.

Please get this cleared one way or another ASAP.

this is a step backwards from the previous version.  suggest an engineering change proposal to display ALL for the day you are viewing!

While I love my Fitbit Charge 2, I take issue with the Dashboard. When you review any day, it should reflect your results for that day. However, the sleep results are only reflecting the current day, not your daily results. This makes no sense when you go to look at your results for any given day, and everything is accurate except for your sleep. This really needs to be fixed...your Dashboard should reflect all of your daily activities correctly.

PLEASE CHANGE THE DASHBOARD BACK! Previously I could scroll through the days in the dashboard and see the data for the selected day.  Now the top 4 items (steps, miles, cals, active mins) show for the selected day, but the bottom items (250+ steps, sleep, food, water, etc) always show the current days data. I HATE THAT!! I enjoyed being able to scroll though the days and see my data for each day in the dashboard format.  I am very saddened by this update.  I've had my fitbit for a week and now regret the purchase because the app is changed and I no longer enjoy the dashboard.  PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK!

How could you have known what the app was like if you just joined the Fitbit family a week ago? I happen to love the current dashboard and most certainly agree that the lower tiles should change with the top tiles. I’ve used Fitbit for a little over 4 years now and like the changes but like the rest dislike a few “features” that come with evolution. My vote would be to have the ability to select the top tiles we want to update with the daily scrolling and move the ones we don’t care about to the lower ones that do not change with scrolling.

Another wish list item would be to have it work properly in the iOS infrastructure but that’s a whole other thread.

Maybe she was a previous fit bit user. Don't be so judgemental.

I'm not sure how it happened. The first 5 days I used the app I was able to view stats from previous days on all the tiles in the dashboard. Then yesterday it had me download an update and I noticed the data wasn't loading properly for previous days. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Restarted my phone. Disconnected and reconnected my fitbit Bluetooth. Logged in and out of fitbit and nothing worked. I thought something went wrong w the app or my device so I was worried. I chatted fitbit online tonight and after 30 mins of going back and forth they said the update must have done it and that it is working properly and directed me to this forum to share my thoughts. Idk how I had the older version that allowed me to view my stats the way I did for 5 days. But it happened and I wish I could switch back.

Thank you. I appreciate that. This is actually my third fitbit. It's just been a while since I've used one bc I didn't care for the Charge I had.

The bottom tiles should show the information that matches the day I'm viewing on my dashboard. Disappointed that this no longer is the case since January 2018!!!!

This is no longer the case since 2016!

The old dashboard was awful in appearance but displayed more useful information if that makes any sense?
