Separate the "Turn wrist to wake screen" and "Notifications auto-wake screen" features

As of the latest firmware update, the Versa allows notifications to auto-wake the screen. To disable this feature, you must also disable the "turn wrist to wake screen" feature. The two features are controlled by the same setting: disabling one disables both. These features should be capable of being enabled/disabled individually.

I'm not sure that it holds true that these two features are interconnected.  I have the Screen Wake set to manual (no wake upon wrist turn) and yet my notifications still light up the screen.  It would seem that while Screen Wake is an ON/OFF option, the Notification light up is not.  At least that's how it's working for me.  I would like the option to turn off the Notification light up and so have voted Yes for this request.

The customer support person I talked to claimed they were connected. I have
not personally bothered to try, myself, as I don't want to disable wrist
turn wake.

Please add the ability for a vibrate only on notifications like it was before the update - when at work in meetings I don't need my watch showing everyone my notifications, it is a complete breach of privacy.  I was 100% happy with my versa until after the update and now have to either turn notifications off or have every see my notifications.

Please add the ability to do vibrate on notifications only, please, please, pl

@kcronin I did some testing and you are right. The "wake screen for notifications" setting is tied into the "enable notifications" setting (the support staff I spoke with gave me incorrect information). So the choice is between notifications waking the screen and no notifications whatsoever. Even worse, in my opinion.

I'm in agreement with @TooFarPaul that automatically displaying Notifications with no option to turn off other than to disable the feature altogether represents a breach of privacy.  I'm surprised that this feature was permitted to be programmed without user control.

Good idea, thanks for taking the time to share it with us. I think having this option could really help users to customize the watch more. Keen to hear what others think?

@SantiR  Yes, of course we would like to hear what others think.  Oddly, this feature was heavily requested to be put into the Versa and it was included in the OS 3.0 update.  I have noticed that in the Feature Request board there is no option to vote against a feature.  So, lots of old Pebble users voted for this feature request since the old Pebble worked with auto-displaying notifications but, other than commenting, we couldn't vote NO to the request.  Now our only option is to promote the reverse feature; turn off auto-display which simply goes back to the OS 2.2 programming.

Please Please don´t let my Versa wake up evert time i get a notification. In a Work meeting the Versa lights up so everybody can see that i´v got a notification and the person who is near me can read the notification very easy. Let us have the possibility to turn this option OFF and just let the Versa vibrate without the screen turning on. There is so many situations where you dont wont your Versa to light up.

I agree with everyone in this forum equally! Prior to the most recent Fitbit OS update, one was able to receive notifications by way of vibration and without the screen lighting up to each individual notification. Now, the screen lights up every time I get notified, and it is a bit inconvenient, especially in public areas, like school where you are sitting next to and behind people that can see your messages and emails, or when presenting to classes, having the watch constantly light up with all the content. I would like it to return to how it used to be, where we had the option of manually having to press the left button to turn on the screen and swipe down to see the notifications.

Looks like this is the same request: Option for vibrate only for notifications (No screen waking)

It is the same request but the FitBit moderators locked the comments on that thread because too many people were complaining.  I've decided since they are not supporting the community I will not be supporting fitbit.  Selling our two versa's (hell may just throw them away), selling my fitbit stock, and bidding farewell to this awful company that won't listed to the people paying for their products.

They turned off comments on the last post i was in, but this is very similar. Yes! please make this a reality. I'm sick of the notifications waking my screen. I'd rather just have the screen wake upon turning my wrist. So if we could make those separate that would be awesome!

Please revert back to the previous ' vibrate only ' when notification received.

I just got a Versa and went to the movie theater. I switched the screen wake to manual but was disappointed to find out that my watch would still light up every time I received a text message or other alert! This was very distracting to the other people in the audience as well as myself that I had to disable notifications. I wouldn't want my watch turning on during meetings or other events, there should be a way to separate these items and not have the screen turned on when set to manual.

You're kidding...they need to take of current devices first before moving
on to new ones. PLEASE make this change for current Versa users. I don't
want it to turn on with every notification!

I was initially very upset when I saw the resolution to this as the way its written makes it seem its for Versa 2 only. However I received a software update this morning and my Versa now has a do not disturb option in the quick settings. This seems to have resolved the issue,  if I set my watch to "do not disturb" it doesn't vibrate or turn on when I receive a text or other notification. It would have been nice if it would still vibrate so I know to check the notifications later but this is an improvement to it turning on all the time.

I've recently received the Versa 3 and am experiencing something similar, though whether the watch is in manual or auto wake mode, texts and other notifications will turn on the screen and show on the screen immediately.  For privacy reasons, I'd like to be able to get a vibration, and then manually look to the notification center, or at the very least, tilt to wake or tap to wake the watch before the actual message is shown.
