Share MobileRun activities on Social Media

One of the best aspects of the Fitbit app is that it plays nice with all platforms, and it encourages the social aspect of exercise.  I love the fact that I can brag about my latest badge, and then share that on Facebook or Twitter.

I would really love it if you could share your running activies that you've done with MobileRun on Facebook.  Right now there is no share button or option, which is very limiting.  This is the only thing that is keeping me from leaving RunKeeper!

Thanks!

Not good enough. Why have a dashboard full of data and not be able to select what to post and why have GPS and not be able to post a map. Of the Surge is the top of the range then it needs a top of the range sharing facility....like some of the free apps already offer.

I love the way the Nike Running app does it. At the end of the run I can post to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram (in one action). It includes stats, map, etc. AND (most importantly), I don't have to have a public facing profile. They simply make the single run (activity) available from that URL.

I've been running with both Nike Running app and FitBit app at the same time and it's super annoying. I'm glad there is an import to Strava but I won't use it. I already have my old stats in Nike and now I'm using (and dedicated to) my FitBit. Why should I need one more app?

Thanks for listening.

Another problem - Strava syncing only supports running and biking. I hiked the other day, and can't share it...

I understand this may take some time to implement, but can you folks give us an ETA or at least an acknowledgement you are working on this?

@yaroslavd You can export the TCX file of your hiking from Fitbit and import it to your Strava accout. That's what I do if it won't automatically sync.

Would it be possible to add Facebook sharing to when you finish tracking an exercise logs. Most other apps have this and it's a good boost to show friends your fitness workout and share ideas with them.

Add another vote for this feature! I can't believe Fitbit can't already share activities, especially since it can connect to the GPS to create a map. I just had a great walk and can't share it. Next time I'll know to start up Runtastic Pro ahead of time even though it always inflates the distance. Better than nothing, I guess.

Given that Runkeeper and Map-my-Run can do it (for 'free'), why are Fitbit so reticent to provide a facility that let's users post to Facebook by simply pressing a button beside the selected activity.  Posting a map is a key part of this otherwise why invest in GPS.

I have been told by Fitbit (4th June) that 'Automated sharing via Facebook has been disabled for the time being while we investigate some alternative methods for sharing stats in more meaningful ways'........

NO FITBIT, sort the Facbook link and facilitate the posting of maps.

Please include a function that allows me to post my runs and running data to face book.  I want to post my routes, pace/distance, maybe even a photo.  I really liked that feature with Nike+.  I recently got a Surge and this is the only thing I truly miss about the Nike+ watch.  Thanks for your support.

I totally agree.  I used to post my runs from Runkeeper on Facebook but now I use my Fitbit app to track my runs.  REALLY wish I could post them to Facebook to share with my friends!  Why in the world isn't this an option with Fitbit?!

I absolutely agree witt this post.  You should be able to simply push a button after your run tracking on Fitbit to share it to Facebook.  Almost EVERY other running tracker has that option!

There needs to be an option to share to social media straight from the watch in either the summary screen or the option to set it to do it automatically in an easy to fine location on the app

This is a fantastic idea and the main thing needed for the Fitbit app to catch up with the competition such as Garmin. Is there and update on if this is in the development plan? Thanks

Agreed. I have a Garmin I used to use. I like the Surge much better, less bulky, no chest strap, sync's to GPS faster, but there is no way to share specific activites to Facebook.

In short, the device is wonderful, the software/dashboard lacking.

IFTTT doesn't have the option either.

Come on Fitbit when it comes to social media, being able to share on FB is mandatory.

Would love to share my bike rides that are captured by my surge with my Facebook friends!

I appreciate you posting your request @zenjayke! I'm very happy to inform you that this sharing option is now available for you to use. Isn't that awesome? Here are the steps you need to follow so you can do this procedure.

I hope you enjoy using MobileRun and sharing your great achievements.

Any other ideas you might have, feel free to share or vote for them, if it’s already suggested in the Feature Request Forum. Thanks!

Melissa, I am the new user of fitbit chage HR。 the product is great, but the app is not good as other free version as mapmyrun。 the share function is still not meet the expectation to share the map。 is gitbit team still working on that?

It'd be nice if I could upload the map if I didn't want to take a photo. I thought something was broken when I first tried to share because it kept bringing up the camera.

Are we able to share with fitbit friends in mobile app ?

joezen777

It doesn't share like Runkeeper where people can see the details of your run, but it's a little better than it used to be. It will now let you share an image card and a gallery picture (or take a selfie) from your run. It looks like this. Picture it shared to my facebook from appPicture it shared to my facebook from app
