Show average time instead of score on main sleep view

Fitbit app used to show weekly/monthly average sleep hours per day on the sleep view but now it just shows average sleep score. Can Fitbit please go back to showing average sleep hours rather than sleep score? Or at least give users the option to choose what is displayed. Average sleep hours would be more meaningful to me.

New App Update frustrating. Bad layout, not as easy to read, and missing info. On the previous sleep log, it would keep a running average of the hours slept that week. Now in place of that, it only has "Sleep score average" which I don't care about and don't need. How can I get the sleep average hrs/mins back?

Hi @helirobb! Thanks for posting your idea about showing the sleep average time in the Fitbit app with us! I've moved it into a similar request. You can also check this other suggestion, post a comment or click on the thumbs-up to show your support.

I want to be able to see more sleep history both WEEKLY & MONTHLY in the BAR CHART format.  Most of my history has disappeared in the app.  I do not want to go on a computer to check!  Please go back to what you had previously.  Also I got 5 1/2 hours of sleep & my sleep score was "good".  LOL!  Since when is 5 1/2 hours of sleep good?!?!

It’s driving me crazy, I don’t want to dig for my data, my main purpose of buying Fitbit was for the easy to use dashboard & sleep data (which help set me predict my health problems). Another huge issue I have with it is I very very rarely sleep above 5hrs p/night, many nights are 2.5hrs, many are 4hrs, & very rarely I sleep above 6hrs. I have multiple diseases which drastically affect my sleep, along with sleep disturbances, so most nights my sleep is broken into 45mins-3hr intervals (with minutes of ‘awake’ between), my body & no prescription meds will allow beyond that.

So since the change/addition of the sleep score, most days i end up with upto 5 individual itemised listings in the main sleep section, from minutes to a couple hours, instead of the previous SUPER useful overall sleep which was always listed in just ONE ‘total’ data file for any 24hr period, or very rarely two listings if woke up for longer in between one night & went beyond midnight (or afternoon naps). To make matters worse I’m being scored for each one! So instead of ‘4.5hrs sleep’ listed in one concise easy to understand block data file, I’m now getting up to 5 separate listings of 45mins, 1.5hrs etc & up to 5 scores during just one nights sleep, with just a few minutes of ‘awake’ in between, then the following day have 3, then many nights of multiple blocks but no score even added! The scoring also doesn’t take into account if you have a health condition which affects your heart rate, total sleep or sleep stages, nor does it seem to take into account all the years of previous data to detect what your usual sleep average/totals are, or your usual sleep patterns etc

Lol, exactly why sleep score is like a foreign language to most of Fitbit
users. Hours Slept coupled with how much REM, Light, and Deep sleep we got
was the best! Just bring it vack like it was already. And next time, take
some polls from the Fitbit Community before changing things-lack of
research is not good for any company or the people who buy their products.

No wonder their outlook is bleak and the company just put itself up for sale.

Ouch, didn't know that... Dang!

YES, thank you!

I feel really strongly about this issue about the weekly sleep average.  I can try to control how many hours I sleep and work towards improvement on the weekly average. But the new sleep score is 100% meaningless to me and I don't care what my weekly sleep score average is.

Fitbit: PLEASE put sleep length averages back.  I'm losing interest in the fitbit app because this was taken away.

Sleep score is useless.  I want to see my average hours of sleep again!!!

Due to work and social commitments, I sleep in batches of 2-3 hours throughout the day. The average weekly sleep time helps me monitor my sleep routine to make sure I get a set average sleep time in a week. This sleep score change does not help me in any way. I was wondering if there was a way to go back to the old system. That is one of the reasons I bought the Fitbit in the first place.

@Big12africa Thanks for your suggestion about reverting to the old sleep average.

I moved it to this thread because it is the same idea.

I agree.  What is the purpose of the Sleep Score?  Who came up with the ridiculous idea?  One of the most important features of a fitness band is to track your sleep.  What do I learn with an arbitrary Sleep "Score" number?  What does 63 mean?  What does 75 mean?  I absolutely know what 5 hrs. 36 min. means  And when I'm tracking my sleep, why would I want to track some arbitrary "score" that Fitbit has devised for me?  And it doesn't even work!  How do I get 4 hrs 51 min sleep and get a score of 67 but the next night I get 4 hr. 1 min sleep and get a score of 70?  What does that even tell me?  I'm so unimpressed with this "update" you have no idea!  Did this idea come from some 12 year old who is used to getting percent scores on his/her papers in school?  This is, by far, the most asinine change/update I've ever seen in a FITNESS app.  People want to know the number of hours they've slept and easily compare it from week to week to see if they are progressing in their attempt to get more sleep.  Stop trying to be "cutting edge" or "cool" or whatever you're trying to be, Fitbit, and go back to providing your customers with a product they WANT to use, otherwise you're going to lose a whole lot of customers!

Really want average sleep time per week back. I have been using my browser and fitbit.com dashboard to find this but this takes more time. I strongly prefer time over sleep score.

Yes, I wish Fitbit would finally give us back what most of us want and at
least respond, this is a viral issue!

I also really liked to see the weekly average. I could see a difference in as little as 15 minutes. The sleep score is depressing and not consistent. I really adds nothing. I hope fitbit listens to us. I guess we can break out our calculators every Monday and log it... Ha

Yep, thanks for the reply! Feel like this issue is viral by now geez.

It does not matter how many times moderators move comments to new threads or renamed threads the fact remains that several hundred people have taken the time to express their disagreement with the new sleep score. Many of them have also expressed their frustration with the autocratic way in which a new dashboard was fousted upon them.

Following those threads you see hundreds of people again disagreeing with the new dashboard. In combination these two activities frustrate users.

Fitbit is not responding to either of them. Please get rid of the sleep score and restore the old classic dashboard.

My sleep score is very consistent. It's always 0 except one day. It has to be the most useless thing Fitbit has ever come with!

Perhaps this topic should be merged with the sleep score optional into:

Enable ability to toggle select what is displayed either "weekly average sleep time" or "sleep score"

The more votes for an issue (both these are actually the same issue) the more likely corporate fitbit is to listen. But the topic must make it clear what users lost and how they want it dealt with.

I just found this forum and agree with everyone on the sleep hours vs score issue. Hours is what we want tracked not a subjective "score".  I've  communicated with the Fitbit customer service group but did not get any satisfactory reply. Does anyone know a way to revert back to the previous app update?  Fitbit told me it was not possible.

More evidence the sleep score is stupid. Last night I slept 6.5 hours with 50 minutes of deep sleep and had a 73. The last time I had a 73 I only slept 5 hours and had no deep sleep at all. How on earth can I have the same score. Stupid!

The sleep score is the most ridiculous idea yet - what is it's purpose ??

Bring back the average hours again.

Many many people agree with you. Between this thread and another thread I have literally seen 50 or 60 comments in the last several days. I wonder why Fitbit is not responding?
