Show average time instead of score on main sleep view

Fitbit app used to show weekly/monthly average sleep hours per day on the sleep view but now it just shows average sleep score. Can Fitbit please go back to showing average sleep hours rather than sleep score? Or at least give users the option to choose what is displayed. Average sleep hours would be more meaningful to me.

Initially I thought I had screwed up a setting and have been trying for a while to get it to show the average hours, but then discovered it is no longer possible.

These scores are ridiculous - I can get a higher score 20 higher for 1.5 hours less sleep ?? WTF !!! ????

Another two scores for exactly the same sleep time - 69 & 82

Here are a few replies from fitbit :-

Sorry to hear this. May we know the model and OS version of your phone? Also, send us a screenshot of what you're seeing on the sleep tile. Note that with the launch of Sleep Score, you will no longer see the weekly sleep average or sleep duration. You'll need to swipe left on the Sleep Score graph and expand the view by clicking the expand icon on the upper right hand corner on the Hours in Sleep Stages screen to see your weekly sleep average or sleep duration. Keep us posted!

Thanks for the info and for sharing your feedback with us. We always look for ways to enhance the experience of our users and we invite you to support a similar suggestion about bringing back the Sleep Average here: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Show-average-weekly-sleep-hours-again/idi-p/3646.... Hope to see you there.

We appreciate your feedback and for checking popular topics online. We won't be able to switch back to the old dashboard seeing your weekly sleep average or sleep duration. We thank you in advance if you've already went to our feature suggestion board which is the perfect place to put all your innovations to Fitbit. Let us know if you have other concerns.

I cannot believe that Fitbit is so unresponsive to a change that is causing so much grief and upset for their customers. When Coke brought in a bad flavour it took its lumps and moved on and never looked back. Other companies have had similar problems. But no, Fitbit will not admit it has made a serious mistake that has not helped its customers but rather has aggravated them and caused more upset particularly those with serious sleep problems. Remove the score or make it optional. That is not a  A hard technical fix.  And while you are at it give customers a choice to use the classic dashboard. It is another mistake that is aggravating customers and users of what had been a fine product.

I totaly agree. I don't want sleeping  points as average value for the week. I want the average sleeping time as before.

If I sleep less then target for some nights I get no sleeping points at all for those nights. This meens that I only get sleeping point for "good" nights and the average for the week says that my sleeping was good. This is completely wrong. Earlier I could see that during the last week I have had too less sleeping hours in average and it gave me the explanation to why I was tiered.

We’re all frustrated because of the substantive non response from Fitbit. The lacklustre notes from moderators don’t cut it.

I need the average sleep hour details back, if not I am simply going to move on to alternatives (example: apple watch)

They have our money now, but it's my third and possibly last Fitbit if that doesn't get fixed and if i switch, I'm not coming back to Fitbit if I don't feel they care about users opinions.

Yes yes yes yes, finally, Fitbit!! I still find it ridiculous that we needed so many people to complain for so long for you guys to press "ctrl + z", despite that, it's still deserving of a thank you, cause we all appreciate it.

I see it shows if you log in from a computer, how do I get it back on my App on my phone???

I have NO USE for an arbitrary "Sleep Score". I want the average sleep hrs back. Stop trying to fix things that aren't broken.

Helirob,

Two ways to get there. The first is simply swipe the top graph called 'sleep score' from right to left and you'll then see the 'sleep average' graph. Then, simply click on the double arrow expand icons to see weekly, monthly and yearly averages.

Another way that actually shows our old sleep average view, along with each week's average was posted on another thread HERE:

"I have found, without any help from Fitbit, on your main Fitbit page, down
at the bottom on the right choose community then up at the top it says what
are you up to, touch that line you’ll see icons with one being sleep and
it’s all back in hours and minutes."

Both of these take only a few seconds and you get what we are looking for which at least keeps me as a Fitbit customer still despite the worthless sleep score. Good luck!

Takes me TWO seconds for the first way and maybe 5 seconds the second way. But the info is there. I also think sleep score is useless and hope they change it back after all then negative feedback.

That still doesn't show the "Average Weekly hrs/mins" that it used to that I want... It shows exactly what is on the sleep tab.

I don't know what you're talking about or see on your phone. Here are screenshots showing exactly what we want and what you're asking for. I just took them. Only takes a couple of seconds instead of being the default view. First screenshot shows first way to get there that I posted (slide "Sleep Score" graph right to left to "HOURS SLEPT" and then expand double arrows) and the second screenshot shows what I pasted that someone else found by getting there through "Community" and clicking sleep icon, which IS the same view we used to have. I have an iPhone 10XS.

It's not showing that info for me on my Samsung (S7 I believe). Maybe when I upgrade to the Samsung 10 shortly it will work...

Good to know. That's messed up then. If you have no way of getting to your sleep averages at all (other than using a calculator) then Fitbit screwing it up even far worse than I thought.

Honestly, Fitbit's lack of caring for its customers is the most frustrating. Also mind boggling that anyone there thought it was a good idea to change to sleep score. This idea should have been squashed in the meeting where it got pitched. Even if the info is available for some people, why would people have to look for it, we should have a choice between the two, I bet most people that use the app for sleep monitoring would go back. Personally, I'm soon due for an upgrade, this time I won't just look the Fitbit options as I've done in the past...

I couldn't agree more. Just give us what we want... That's how a business
thrives, by giving customers what they want. If they don't, no more
business... So simple it's ridiculous.

Sleep score is absolutely worthless.  You use an algorithm to evaluate my sleep. I just want the facts. How many hours did I sleep and what type of sleep am I getting.  Next you will eliminate the miles we have walked and instead “evaluate” our steps. Just stop it. PleSe please please. Just give us the facts. Miles, steps, hours slept, heart rate,

Yes, can’t agree more.  I love the old way being able to see average weekly sleep hours.  It encouraged me to do better tonight for catching up enough sleep hour for the week.  Hate this great function been replaced by useless, destructive and totally abstract sleep score.

As as a principle for future changes, may I suggest ensuring data detail is primary and evaluations are secondary. The value of fitness trackers is the details they provide over approximations and estimations.

I suppose I should be thrilled. The 2 1/2 hours of sleep I got last night warranted a "good" score. The 2 1/2 hours of restless drowsing due to my colonoscopy prep that had me up and down before and after and which had me groggy even before the procedure.

This is a good example of why I hate sleep score. It so often doesn't reflect anything close to what my body tells me about my rest.

I really HATE that Fitbit 'score' my sleep now rather than tell me my average time asleep. Please consider giving users back this information or at least an option to choose one or the other.  It seems from the number of comments here that many people feel the same way.  How many comments do you need before doing something about it???

Scoring my sleep with some arbitrary number is not helpful (akin to being awarded stars as a child), but seeing my average sleep over weeks and months is.  Having bought my Fitbit to improve both fitness and sleep, I am very tempted to move to another fitness/lifestyle tracker which gives me the reports I want.
