Show walks/runs in Kilometers/miles per hour, not just in pace.

I think it would have extra value to see your pace from walks/runs in Kilometers per hour (or miles per hour for that matter). At the moment you can only see your pace, which for a lot of people is an unknown/underused metric.

Hi,

I was quite surprised, not to say disappointed to find that my traveling speed during running is not available.

I received the Charge 2 as a gift.

The free apps I used do support this.

So here is also my feature request, it cant be that hard 🙂

Wow it's almost three years to integrate an international standard unit for speed. Fitbit has received this feature request in so many languages, but nothing is happening.

The speed for each km or mile should be easy to calculate. For running it is a nice metric to see.

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this suggestion. We're always striving to enhance Fitbit products and services, and we appreciate all of the input we receive from our customers. We do not currently have plans to release this feature. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs. For now, we will leave this suggestion open for votes (and closed to comments) so that we can continue to track community demand over time. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us and we will let you know if anything changes.

I'd love to have an update through the app to show speed as km/h.

As a football player, knowing the short sprint bursts during training/ games it'd significantly help know the output of my work rate.

More comprehensive data around this should be the norm.

Is there a way

Showing speed in stead of peace would be nice!
And should be not very difficult, its a matter of calculation.

My five year old fitbit watch lets me select why not the Charge 2??????

I love my Fitbit over my legacy Garmin.   However one thing the Garmin had that I really liked was that it showed real time MPH.   By seeing MPH I would use that in real time to push myself faster.   The Fitbit shows Pace but not MPH.   For those of us who run seeing real time MPH is a great motivator.   Is there any plan to add this feature?

Surely it is simple math script that can be applied to the app. Either pace or speed as an option.

I  want this option also so I can choose speed in the running exercise.

When I run and a lot of people run at speed level not pace, also in the app when syncing I want to see the speed/ avg. speed and not pace in the map and stats.

And for me as European it must be see as km/h when you select metric.

My old Nike watch shows perfect speed as km/h so I'm disappointing that the fitbit doesn't!

In the Fitbit Ionic with exercises of running or cycling it is a must have to see the speed you walk or cycle.

It's a European and world standard to see speed with those exercises.

Al other sport watches like my old Nike running showing speed with miles or km/ hour.

Even on the olympics or other sport events speed is the thing to show...  km/h or miles/hour.

My sugestion:

When opening the exercise app on the Fitbit Ionic  >

Select RUN

go to settings >

Customize Stats

ad feature to select Speed

so you see in the customize stats

.....

....

Pace

Pace (average)

Speed

Speed (average)

....

...

When the users is selected speed it's is given by the users selection in the Fitbit app.

Advanced settings units > length. (miles or the km/h )

It's basic to program those speed calculation's. You don't have to einstein yourself al sportwatches use speed already.

Just make the dissicioun to implent it into the exersice app and update this to make it complete.

Not only me but al sport people would love this feature....  see topic's yourself on the web.

And please let's go social with this because FitBit doesn't do anything.

That’s an interesting idea and could be useful, thanks for sharing this suggestion.

Seconded!!

On the Ionic when I've finished a ride and look back at the exercise(swipe up a few times to see recent exercises) it shows all my rides with pace. Pace might be useful to runners but is not a standard measurement of speed, please show speed in user preferred units. I've now stopped even checking my recent rides because it's no use to me whatsoever.

Stepping Up

Hi!

I've been running for quite a few years now and I am well aware of pace being the standard way of displaying the speed in which I run. Nonetheless, I would very much like to be able to toggle between these two both in the Fitbit app and in the Fitbit dashboard on the web. I have used a number of other fitness trackers and most of them (exect Strava) give you the option to set the default display option. Being a systems developer, I know that this feature request would not involve much extra work. It can even be done on the fly without having to store the speed information twice. For some reason, Strava refuses to implement this and they even go as far as just ignoring users asking for this feature, but I hope you can do better.

Many thanks from Norway,

Håvard

I also would like the option to display speed for walking. I don't think in terms of minutes/mile (pace) but more in terms of miles/hour. I'd like to know if I'm walking 3.5 - 4.5 mph. I am sure this is also something runners would like.

Km/per hour is essential and seems basic to me. Did not realise Fitbit was not catering. So back to Runkeeper on the phone

last firmware update hope this simple speed was ad to running but no.

I do a lot of beta testing with al kind of devices and see essential things put into the stable releases quickly.

why are you so slow on this fitbit?

Last week i bought the ionic, and came to the conclusion that it doesn't support km/u? Seriously, what smartwatch designed for sports leave that item out? I just put my ionic on a secondhand site because it's no use to me. Back to Ambit or maybe, and I hate to say it, buy a Apple Watch! They understand the need of km/u whilst running..... Disappointing!

Dear Fitbit,

It would be nice if I could see the average run speed of my runs in the app (on the site it is visible, not in the app). It Also would be nice if setting it to km/h instead of m/h would be possible.

kind regards,

I suggest adding speed to the walking exercise as well. Speed is far more useful than pace.
