Start day of the week to be any day of the week

Allow week to start on ANY selected day to ensure that it links to your personal plan which could start on any day of the week.  For example I am in a diet program and the first day of the week in this program is Tuesdays but was not an option as currently only Monday and Sunday are.

Thank you,

Rosemary

I would like the weekly email report to start on the same day as my selected first day of the week.  My first day of the week is selected as Sunday, this aligns with what appears on my mobile Fitbit app.  The weekly email report has a first day of the week as Monday.  A Monday email report is worthless for my purposes, I track weekly targets with the Fitbit app and would like an email report that started on my selected day of Sunday.

It would be nice to add more days that you can reset your weekly except Sunday and Monday. At Weight Watchers we reset on Saturday and other days depending the days you weight in. Can you please help.
Thanks.

I would like the weekly report to start the same day as what I have on my mobile app, Sunday.

Having the weekly report start with Monday is inconsistent.  We're given a choice of a start day it should also include the report

Agreed. We should be able to choose the day we get our weekly progress report. I personally get mine on a Tuesday for some random reason and I would really like to be able to switch this to Monday or Sunday even. Thanks.

Why is it that although I have my week set to start on Sunday, my weekly report starts on Monday?

Can you please add all days of the week in which to start as well as just Sunday and Monday?

Honestly, I cannot figure out what my fitbit will do (just got it). If I look at the 28 day option, I see 4 weeks each month. They go Sun to Sat. Yet, in the week view, I see seven days back from the current day. Best I can tell, the weekly progress percentage is based on the 7 days that are displayed. Which by default would be the last seven days. It would be a big help just to have a week view that went, say from Dec 25th to Dec 31st (today being the 29th). If the percent were for that interval, I could get my weekly percentage easily, if it was calculated over the displayed seven days. If I didn't like Sunday, I could just move the date forward or back.

No I'm afraid not your only choice is Sunday or Monday - very disappointing that we are still waiting for Fitbit to do a small amendment to their programming.

I no longer receive my "calories in vs out" on  my weekly progress report.  I know I can get that on a daily balance but the weekly report lets me know I did overall.  For instance, I may have a high calorie intake meal but try to off set that with meals on other days.  Please add this back to the weekly progress report.

It would be really useful if you could change the day of the week that you start tracking to any day of the week- not just Sunday or Monday!

Many of us will be members of weight loss classes where we have a set weigh in day (mines a Thursday) - so it would be really beneficially if we could change our day of the week on the app to the same day of the week that we weigh in (and therefore our week resets!) so we can track our activity alongside our weight loss journey!

I would like to see the weekly report in line with the first day of the week set in my Fitbit profile (in my case Sunday). It just makes the stats easier to understand and to compare week-to-week progress

The weekly report is nigh on useless. I get total steps and steps for best day (with a star! do you think I'm in kindergarden?) and the rest of the days are helf-filled circles. I you have read Tufte's "Visual Display of Quantitative Information" you would know this term - "chart junk"

Please, just give me the numbers. With summary statistics, such as average, min and max.

It may also help to have summary statistics of previous weeks.

And please, do the same for my calorie counts.

I just saw an essay about FitBit from a year ago that really spoke to me. I am a Data Scientist, and this essay came in one of my emails that keep me abreast of the Data Science community:

http://www.datasciencecentral.com/profiles/blogs/why-i-ditched-my-fitbit-and-what-this-means-for-ana...

Here is the important part:
"After a year, my Fitbit strap broke. I decided not to buy a replacement. Why? Because Fitbit’s analytics was a dead-end dashboard."

"The dashboard ceased to reveal anything new to me. Having successfully analyzed my steps, I wanted to move on and ask new questions about my daily activity."

"Fitbit records active minutes but doesn’t display them in a way that meets my new needs. My Fitbit couldn’t adjust to my new data requirements, and thus our happy relationship came to an end. Until I can tweak and adapt the Fitbit dashboard, it is no longer useful."

"Dashboards that don’t evolve don’t get used. Too often, a completed dashboard is seen as a finishing line, not a starting point. All this does is lead to dead-end dashboards."

I don't bother to access the daily dashboard. That would border on obsessiveness. I want to see a useful weekly summary.

I am a FitBit subscriber, so I can access and download my data, and I have. If I wanted to, I could take the dataset and munge it in python could do a deeper dive. But that, too, would be obsessive.

Your dashboards need work.

Here's a suggestion - make the dashboards (especially the weekly) customizable, and not just on the trivial level of which is the panels are included and where they go. Think about the sort of things people might want to dig out of their data (like the author talked about sitting down time) and come up with a programming language (maybe graphics based, like LabView) that lets users customize their dashboards to give them the analysis they want. Then, just like the friend communities (which I never use, by the way - I don't compare myself to others, just to me) you can set up communities that share dashboard code.

I think that would add a lot to the value of FitBit, just like creating scripting languages to make add-ons to games like Civilization.

That would be really fun.

The weekly report uses a predefined start date of Monday, it should use the defined start date of the app/online profile as this would allow you to look up your 'stats' in both places and get the same results and avoid the confusion created by not having a fully syncronized setup/notification system.

Bottomline, if you allow us to set a start day for our week, you should follow thru to use it for all reporting.

Good Idea, I agree this would be useful.

I want to be able to define my week as Saturday to Sunday to reflect the start of my week in regards to weight loss week.

Sp8ceyK

Yes! I prefer a start day of Sunday but my weekly reports are always Monday regardless of what I have it set to so all my data is off. I changed my start day to Monday, which isn't really a big deal, I'll get use to it, but I know a lot of people that want to be able to choose their start day to any day of the week, not just Sunday or Monday, and the weekly reports really need to match up to whichever day a user chooses to start their week on. Please make this happen!

Fitbit: please allow Android devices to select the week-start-day as Monday, to match the report. (Plus, the week does start on Monday.)

Please add option for start day to be other than Sunday  or Monday. I start my weeks on either Saturday  or Friday.

Agreed!! If FitBit allows a user to choose to start their week on a Sunday, then send the "Weekly Stats" to match! How hard can this be?

In the meantime, I guess I will start my week on a Monday from now on so the data on my app and on my weekly stats coincide.

I need my weekly report emailed on Sunday. Is that possible?

I'm another member asking for a weekly report for Sunday to Saturday as I have requested as my week.  Please it is confusing to have a different tally of steps etc. to what is available on-line and via the app when I am part of a group challenge... Surely there is a solution to this problem.

Would absolutely love to be able to do this! When your Fitbit week differs from your weight loss class it's frustrating as you can't properly compare the stats. Please please this would be so useful to many of us. I have Charge2 and cannot to the best of my knowledge change day to Wednesday .

Brilliant idea!!

I have to agree with other comments regarding the usefulness of Fitbit if the product does not evolve to match customers' needs. I am on my 3rd Fitbit, upgrading each time. There are still features missing from the Blaze, and having inconsistent reporting for a weekly summary is ridiculous. I can't imagine buying another one of these devices knowing how slowly the company moves.

Me, too!! I'd like to look at reports from Thursday to Wednesday....
