Stronger Vibration When Different Goals Are Achieved eg Stairs

Summary:

1.  If you have FitBit Flex or Force, you know how cool it is to be 'buzzed' when you reach 10k steps.

2.  FitBit dev team, please add vibration 'celebration' for FitBit One "Steps" goal

3.  FitBit dev team, please add vibration 'celebration' for all devices for achieving "Stairs Climbed" and "Active Minutes" goal

I bought a Force, but returned it due to the thicker clasp and inaccuracy on Steps & Active Minutes (tried dom, non-dom hands/mods) compared to the One which is very accurate on my hip.

The only thing I miss about the Force is the buzzing at 10,000 steps.   It's a great little version of "Hooray" that is quite motivating.  Much more so than silently counting past my goal as the One does.  It doesn't make sense that the One, while having a buzzing capability via Alarm Clock, does not buzz when I reach 10,000 steps.

A simple firmware update would enable this awesome feature, and then the choice between the two would be if you want a watch or a clip style FitBit.  It would also be AWESOME for all buzz-capable devices to have buzzing celebrations for reaching the goals "Stairs Climbed" and "Active Minutes".  These are two distinct fields from steps taken.  Of course you could easily add "Calories Burned", which would be cool too.

Please keep improving your devices through firmware and don't leave us loyal One users behind!

I have a Charge HR and I'm loving it.  As of now, our wristband will buzz when we meet our "step" goal.  I'd like to see it will "buzz" with a different rhythm when our "calorie", "active minutes", "miles", etc has been met.

You can already do this. If you change your "main goal", it will vibrate to whatever you have it set to.

I am pretty certain the poster meant that they wanted it to buzz for every goal met not just one of them. In any case that is what I would like to see.

Totally agree that this would be a great enhancement - I used a Fitbit Surge recently and found that feature great. Please introduce it to the Fitbit One!

YES, PLEASE ADD VIBRATION / BUZZ TO GOAL ACHIEVEMENT ON THE ONE!!!

I just downgraded from a Charge HR because it wasn't getting my steps when I was carrying things or forgetting to swing my arms. So, I got a One and have found by comparison so far today a difference of 1754 (wearing both since midnight). Sadly, the Charge celebrates a goal achievement, but the One (which has a much bigger display) does not!

@mrbuffneff I like this idea a lot!

Anytime a goal is achieved, a celebration is in order. I will be sure to relay this request on to our team for further review.

Thanks for posting on the Feature Request Board!

I have a HR and it's great. Would like to see alert for steps and active minutes. Doctors ask how active we are.

Hi there @j225156. Thank you for sharing your ideas with us!

Currently your Fitbit One will vibrate whenever you set an alarm or when you reach your daily activity goal.

For more information on how to set a silent alarm, click here and for information on how to set a goal, take a look at this link.

Hello there @jentra! I think I got your idea but I just want to clarify... You can set different goals so your tracker will vibrate when you reach them. You can choose between: steps, distance, calories burned and floors climbed. This does not include "Active minutes". You can definitely change it by going to your Device Settings. Now, I'd like to know if besides this notification, you would like to add another for the calories, distance... all of them will vibrate and not just one. If this is the idea, you can reply here so I can change the status.

Catch you later!

I think she meant text for notifications instead of just the alarm bell
symbol similar to caller id

Thanks for your email. Your last point is what I'd like. I realise I can choose alert/vibrate for one of the available measures. What I'd like is alerts for different measures, as you say a chosen group to vibrate and not just one - eg. Receive an alert for 30 active minutes and then another alert/vibrate a bit later when I've completed 10,000 steps.

Cheers
Brian

Thanks for clarifying your point @jentra! I think this could be an excellent feature to be aware or to make sure that you have reached all the goals you set. Let's see how it goes.

I would like it if it vibrated also

It would be nice if there was a vibration alert on the Fitbit one when your step goal was meet.

I totally agree, and for every other goal, like floors climbed, really do! 🙂

It would be so awesome and almost motivational to have this feature on my Fitbit One. Honestly, I think it is so much of a hastle to check the number of steps I have, especially when I'm snowboarding and snowshoeing. The vibration, if installed, would definately have to be stronger. I think it would be need if you could adjust the strength of the vibration, or even have the ability to turn it off completely

When I reach the main goal (steps for me) my Charge HR vibrates and "celebrating" with graphics and lights, I'd like to be informed with a short vibration and a small notification on the display even when I reach each minor goal (climb stairs, active minutes, calories burned). This feature may be enabled or not for each goal.

Thank you.

It totally agree. And I would even like it if it celebrated just as much with all the other goals

While I am not against this idea. I don't see why it couldn't be an option in the settings. However I think it would just create more battery drain. But if you don't mind charging your device every other day then why not.

I totally agree. I wish each goal was celebrated. I also wish that you could set a secondary step goal so that if you reach your main step goal and are very active that day then you can have a larger secondary goal that you can celebrate.

I like this idea as an option.  Personally I'd like to see each light - 20% of your goal, be accompanied with a vibrate.  That would provide better awareness toward my primary goal.
