Support Chinese and other Asian Languages in English Interface

The charge 2 is able to display SMS contact name and detail information. However, when the name or content has Chinese or other non ASCII language, it failed to display anything.

Now, we have to choose to China or Taiwan location in order to see the "Simplifed Chinese" (I am very sorry it even can't support Traditional Chinese). However, this change will change the whole interface into Simplified Chinese.

Could you pleasee support Chinese and other Asian languages in English interface, too?

In short, please support UTF-8.

I wonder how many customers are you losing and have already lost due to 1-5 days fix for one developer... Really this is a big disappointment here!

Now is 2018 not 1995 that we still have to ask developer to use unicode instead of ascii. Even my pebble can read Thai, why fitbit can't?

China is very huge market  but you still not support Chinese. What is your strategy for your company?

If the company sit still, wait for the vote in this forum you will never understand global customer insight. many people just ignore product if they cant read it. Every other smart watch in the world can read unicode except Fitbit.

I think it's not very hard to add unicode support to your os. It just vision of Fitbit to be global company or not.

I need fitbit ionic to support thai language. When notification alerts I can't read Thai language. Please provides this update for Thai people. You will build the new Market volume user in Thailand.

Currently, Fitbit does not support Traditional Chinese characters in notifications and it is currently a mix of boxes and question marks and Latin that is unreadable and what is the point to have notifications at this point?

In short, if you can display Traditional Chinese on the interface, why not in notifications?

@YojanaFitbit  Consider this a very old thread, is there any feedback from the team? It is hard to find this post.

This feature request was opened in 2015, now it's 2019 and still no news. Do you really need your voting system to tell you this is a HUGE thing that you're missing?

I bought a watch for my father-in-law who only understands Chinese, and I don't know how to tell him he'll probably never see this basic functionality in a smart watch.

Startup or not, it's been FOUR YEARS guys... failure to deliver on this is absolutely unacceptable, not to mention other things such as the need to change the language from the website.

Hi @reneteh! Great suggestion, thanks for sharing. I've moved it into a similar request. Hopefully we will have support from other users since more votes and comments an idea has the more visibility and momentum it gains.

I have been waiting for over a year and my Fitbit still does NOT support traditional Chinese. What a discrimination to Hong Kong and Taiwan users. I would choose another brand for my next smart watch.

This is a really necessary feature.

We need the Unicode support, UTF-8. I am using the Burmese language and it is the main issue for my Fitbit versa.

I would like to pre-order Versa 3 or Sense, but this lack of features is a barrier to buy a new one.

Even the $20 mi band 4 support, why $200 Fitbit versa series can't support.

Please consider it faster.

Give the option in setting to switch watch display from English to other languages such as Chinese. The language package is already there (the app can display other languages), just a matter of mirroring in the watch.
