Text messages DO NOT disappear from watch after opening phone

I own a Blaze, and when I get a text, it stays on the watch until I CHOOSE to delete it. The Versa is not programmed that way. As soon as you open the message app on your phone, the messages on the watch disappear. This is not acceptable behavior to me, and therefore I am sending my long relationship with Fitbit. I just don't get why you would have a behavior like that.

Also, I could not get any phone calls, or the test call notification to work on 2 Versas with a Samsung S7, after hours of trying.

In my mind the Versa is a fail, where the other Fitbits have been great.

Oh my gosh. I thought it was just me. I literally has spent four and a half hours tonight trying to first get the messages to come into my Versa. But I couldn't figure out why they were just disappearing. It took me a while to figure out that as soon as I looked at them on my phone they were gone from my watch.  Thank you for posting this! I lost count of the number of times that I powered down the watch and my phone and Bluetooth and tried every combination to get the messages to come into my watch where I could read them. Never realizing that the second I opened them up on my phone they disappeared from The Watch.

I have to take my Versa back. I was so excited to get it today but what's the point if I can't have the messages on my watch.

I agree.   Would have kept my Blaze had i known it deletes them right away!

This was changed at the suggestion of the users who wanted this option.

Hi Guys

I am also in the same situation, a previous Blaze user and now moved on to Versa due to swim option, and although I appreciate Rich comments, Re Fitbit trying to accommodate user requests, wouldn't it be more sensible to leave deleting text messages to individual user preferences?

Is there going to be a fix launched??

I have just bought a versa having had a blaze for nearly 3 years. It is incredibly annoying having the messages deleted from the watch once they have been looked at in the phone. I actually bought two versa’s  One for myself and one for my wife. I opened mine today and encountered this problem-my wife hasn’t opened hers yet and is trying to work out whether she can live with this situation and take the versa back. She’s even started looking at other makes now.

We we should be able to delete or not delete our messages. It’s not big brother it’s supposed to be a smart phone where you access things like text messages etc. Not have them deleted for you. Quite ridiculous and very very annoying. Please reverse this and give us the choice to delete our messages when we want not we]hen you want.

I would also like that @Jw67, unfortunately many she doesn't that opening the message on the phone why removing the message from the watch.

The other thing that was waiting many users was that opening on the watch, did not mark the message as read on the phone.

Any updates on this?

How do we know if a feature will be worked on for future updates?

It would be nice to:
1. Have an option to decide when to delete such messages.

Absolutely nothing. No information at all. No updates.

Can you please allow messages to stay on my versa 2 even after I view them on my phone? I realize they would be limited... I saw 30 somewhere... But they disappear when I open my phone.
I want them to stay so I have a way to initiate a text (using my mic) to my contacts....
I find it frustrating that I am unable to initiate a text.

Hi @zeldazebla, thanks for sharing this suggestion about leaving the text notifications on your Fitbit device even after opening the messaging app on your phone with us.
