Third-party App push notifications on Fitbit screen for All

I and many others have liked, posted, complained and begged Fitbit to allow/enable notifications.  This is a request to Fitbit to enable, at the choosing of the user of the Fitbit tracker (Charge, Charge HR, Alta, Charge 2, & Surge) to have what ever app notifications they want for both iPhone and Android devices display on the Fitbit tracker screen.  This idea suggestion eliminates the need for individual idea suggestions for types of phones or apps that people want to get notifications for, we want the choice to select which ones (like third-party apps such as BitTicker have done for us in the past).  I own a Charge HR, but I want this for all Fitbit trackers, not just mine.  Please give this a thumbs up and post comments on your agreement with this. (And yes, we all know you want Whatsapp part of these choices, don't complain about those of us that still use SMS).  It's about CHOICE of apps, not just Whatsapp.

A recent 10-08-2016 moderator (AndrewFitbit) post on the 'More Notifications' suggestion is what inspired me to do this as it suggests we divide up and make suggestions on each app feature and each device and each tracker.  That is counterproductive.  We need to unite!

I'm in need of something like this for an application in development.. we want to remind users to perform tasks but the only reasonable way seems to be to set an untitled, basic alarm which could mean anything!

Just got the charge 2 .. was shocked that it did not support any 3rd party notifications!

Used to own a band that gave every notification possible from my iphone 6 plus .. So I would like to ask Fitbit to upgrade their App to have all notifications ON (not only to choose 1 App like what you are currently offering in the Android app! )

Thanks

Please please add whatapp to the notifications. I live outside the US and hardly use iMessage and messenger.

I use, like many, FB Messenger to keep in contact with friends. my family using the standard texting software on the phone.  it would be nice if my FitBit would let me know i have messages on both.  not just one or the other

I contacted Fitbit Support because app notifications for ThreeInTouch do not stay active. I select it from the list (along with Twitter, WhatsApp, Facebook, etc), and I get notifications pushed to my Blaze for a short period of time (hours/days), but then later I find the notifications have stopped and when I check the list it has been removed. Fitbit Support say the app is not supported and suggested I bring it up here.

Hi, I just got my Charge 2. Before for 2 weeks I was using another tracker. It was cheaper. What made me get the Charge 2 was that it has the OLED display allowing me to see also in a bright light notifications of texts, calls, emails, calendar alerts I get on my iPhone. I really liked that feature in my previous tracker (particularly useful for whatsapp messages from my kid). It was no hassle there whatsoever. Simple and easy. No choices, no issues with Bluetooth, no need to lift my wrist within a minute to see what I was getting. I am shocked now. I spent hours to get here and in the end I find out I made a wrong choice. I'm returning that fancy fitbit and I'll keep looking for what I need. I also don't like the charging here with the special USB cable instead of plugging the device directly to a PC. Thank you!

+1 here:

To be honest, at the end it is just a joke that this still does not exist.

There are only 3 possibilities left:

1. You are not able to do the necessary development

2. You need to pay license fees you do not want to pay (makes no sense as Android is working)

3. You do not care about your iphone customers

Neither of the 3 is acceptable from a customer standpoint.

@Svenni27 you do tealize that with the exception of the Blaze and Surge the display is so small to make notifacations usefull?

We don't know what goes on in the minds of the developers, for all we know it could be that they have somulated this and the test users find it unacceptable

@Rich_Laue:

It could be I agree, but very unlikely, as:

- They implemented it for Android

- They have thousand likes to implement it and have several additional requests every month

- They could easily reply to the community that the functionality was tested and was not accepted by test users. Even then they could easily implement it and give users the opportunity to put it off

Nevertheless, I totally agree, nobody knows what goes on in the minds of developers 🙂

I totally agree. Currently using a 3rd party app called Fitbit notificaitons as a work around. However, it just take time to setup and also might not be as efficient as if it was done through the official Fitbit app.

If we could have notifications for apps like whatsapp, it would be wonderful. I think many people dont use sms anymore? For me, my sms-es are more adverts then real messages from friends or family. Whatsapp is my main messaging app but i cant select to have notifications for whatsapp 😞 am using a fitbit charge 2

I'd love to get Slack Notifications on my FitBit. I have an Alta HR and Android OS, but ideally this feature would be available on multiple platforms and operating systems.

If it just vibrated and showed the word "Slack", that would be a great start. Ultimately, if it could function similar to group text notifications (Slack channel name instead of group, sender, partial message), that would be helpful.

As a previous answer suggested listed each requested app integration separately, I am posting here.
