Third-party App push notifications on Fitbit screen for All

I and many others have liked, posted, complained and begged Fitbit to allow/enable notifications.  This is a request to Fitbit to enable, at the choosing of the user of the Fitbit tracker (Charge, Charge HR, Alta, Charge 2, & Surge) to have what ever app notifications they want for both iPhone and Android devices display on the Fitbit tracker screen.  This idea suggestion eliminates the need for individual idea suggestions for types of phones or apps that people want to get notifications for, we want the choice to select which ones (like third-party apps such as BitTicker have done for us in the past).  I own a Charge HR, but I want this for all Fitbit trackers, not just mine.  Please give this a thumbs up and post comments on your agreement with this. (And yes, we all know you want Whatsapp part of these choices, don't complain about those of us that still use SMS).  It's about CHOICE of apps, not just Whatsapp.

A recent 10-08-2016 moderator (AndrewFitbit) post on the 'More Notifications' suggestion is what inspired me to do this as it suggests we divide up and make suggestions on each app feature and each device and each tracker.  That is counterproductive.  We need to unite!

I have just bought a FitBit Charge 2 thinking I could finally get Whatsapp and Messenger msgs but I find I can't and after googling I find out it's because I'm an iPhone user along with millions of other people, I will be returning my FitBit  because none of my contacts use messages!

I upgraded from my Pebble Time, I'll go back to using that and even cheapy wearables can get Whatsapp it shouldn't be a big issue 😞

Please please please provide whatsapp and Facebook notifications on Charge 2 for iOS. I don't understand why android users have it before Apple iPhone users - surely you could implement it for both interfaces at the same time.

Please add any phone notification to the Charge2. It is embarassing not to be able to see Whatsapp notifications. I got my Charge2 as a present but for the above reason it does not make sense to wear it. Too bad..

Any plans to add a watch face that includes the time, date and heart rate only? Since Fitbit has bought Pebble, would be nice to be able to select what individual info is displayed on watchface. Make them truly customizable.

please add viber/3rd party notifications to the surge for iOS devices! This functionality seems to be available for Android devices , and this issue has been flagged some time ago for IOS, so it would be good to have a resolution??

Want to add another +1 to this. A real omission on the Charge 2. Even if it is to give it a different feature set than the Blaze. 

As SMS is so redundant notifications for WhatsApp and other apps is absolutely essential on this tracker.

You all are missing the point of this post.  And yes, people do use sms messaging, I don't use whatsapp.  However, I'm all for whatsapp and any other apps, the point is that we have the choice to select any and all app notifications we want to display on the Fitbit trackers.  Fitbit is choosing to ignore us and if enough people like this post, maybe it will get noticed by Fitbit and they might (I know, don't hold my breath) actually implement this for us.  Fitbit if you do read this, please get beyond your greed of having people by whatever new device it is and think about your customers.  If we love our current trackers, we will buy and spread the word to others, and more people will buy your products current and future.  However, currently I've spread the word on facebook and in conversations with friends and family to like this post and think before purchasing a Fitbit tracker.  That is not the word of mouth that you want Fitbit!

I have Fitbit Charge 2 from 3 days. I was not familiar with that, until I bought the device. Today i try to connect my charge 2 with my girlfriend phone(Android) and there are a lot of apps there(Fit Notifications for example), that can deliver you all kind of notifications on your tracker. So now i have plans to switch from IOS to Android just because of that. But still, it will be great if we can use this with the main Fitbit app. It is killing me that i bought a device for 309BGN(160$) and cannot receive notifications on it....

The Charge 2 offers vibration notifications for calls, SMS text, and alarms only.  Conspicuously missing from this are email notifications and Facebook.  (I don't want the latter, but email is important to me.)

Please take a look at the Garmin Vivosmart HR, which has a menu of different types of notifications and let's you check which ones you want.  This is exactly the functionality I'd like in the Charge 2.

I agree, the thing that's stopping the Fitbit Charge 2 from being perfect (to use with an iPhone) is the missing notifications from messenger and what's app.  Please please add these.  Am sure it would encourage more sales.

Not going to lie, this seems like absolute basic functionality and it isn't encouraging that you guys never bothered updating the original Charge with any additional social features. Software design seems a little shortsighted... even something as simple as a glance at the weather... how is that not available for this beautiul screen?

Yes, just like he said.  This is what the competition offers, I have a surge, wish I had a Garmin vivactive HR, hope this one dies soon so I can return it!  I think I will die before any suggestion is implemented.  How about letting users know what you're working on, not just sending them here to be ignored???!!!!
