Third-party App push notifications on Fitbit screen for All

I and many others have liked, posted, complained and begged Fitbit to allow/enable notifications.  This is a request to Fitbit to enable, at the choosing of the user of the Fitbit tracker (Charge, Charge HR, Alta, Charge 2, & Surge) to have what ever app notifications they want for both iPhone and Android devices display on the Fitbit tracker screen.  This idea suggestion eliminates the need for individual idea suggestions for types of phones or apps that people want to get notifications for, we want the choice to select which ones (like third-party apps such as BitTicker have done for us in the past).  I own a Charge HR, but I want this for all Fitbit trackers, not just mine.  Please give this a thumbs up and post comments on your agreement with this. (And yes, we all know you want Whatsapp part of these choices, don't complain about those of us that still use SMS).  It's about CHOICE of apps, not just Whatsapp.

A recent 10-08-2016 moderator (AndrewFitbit) post on the 'More Notifications' suggestion is what inspired me to do this as it suggests we divide up and make suggestions on each app feature and each device and each tracker.  That is counterproductive.  We need to unite!

Haylea and others, some of us still us sms.  The point of this enhancement request is to tell Fitbit that we want to choose from a variety of different app notifications on our Fitbit tracker, not to ask for one kind of app or to bash others for using sms.

Any ideas on if this is going to be done?

Before my Fitbit I had a cheap wrist band that was £20 from Groupon.. This notified me of any new notifications, with a brief message or line of text from it.

I think this is a must for the next release of fitbit software.. im not product expert but surely it would also help tempt new customers to FitBit products? 🙂

Please! 🙂

Hi, I'm new to Fitbit. So far so good except not being able to receive notification from WhatsApp and Line. Yes, there are times when we still get SMS but I would say most people are using 3rd party IM apps nowadays (correct me if I'm wrong)? If a cheaper fitness watch can provide that feature, I don't understand why Fitbit can't? Would really be great to see this feature updated soon

I think this is a great idea. I would really like to have my choice of notifications on my Fitbit.

I would like to see fitbit be abe to use all the notifications like watsapp, Facebook messenger and text instead of just being one or the other please. I recently had the flex and upgraded to charge 2 thinking that I would be able to use all the notification's and was so disappointed to just use one.

I totally agree with you! Fitibit Devops team please provide a firmware update to allow multiple notifications apps! Best regards, Luis Eduardo.

I was surprised and delighted by the ability to select a non-SMS messaging app as the source of text notifications on my Android phone to display on my Charge 2:

One (seemingly) small modification that would make my tracker vastly more useful to me would be to change this selection activity to multiple-choice checkboxes, so that I might receive notifications from e.g. both Signal and WhatsApp. Thanks for your consideration!

I strongly agree that Fitbit development team should put notification for multiple application at the time with top priority on coming firmware upgrade of Charfe 2. I think Charge 2 with notification for only one singe text measage is very behind industry benchmarks. Similar products from other brand already have the feature of notification for multiple text message applications at the same time back 2 years ago. I'm very disappointed and surprised to find out that Charge 2 can only support notification of one single text message.

I am afraid that this won't happen as long as Apple sells Iwatches. Before that, Apple won't make a deal with Bitfit to allow more notifications on Fitbit trackers.

Bitfit, is this true?

Not true. Notification are widely available in more expensive models from
fitbit (blaze) etc. This is a fitbit marketing strategy to deprive cheaper
versions from "more advanced features".

Thanks FerOspina, you make a good point.

@FerOspina i have Fitbit Charge 2, which cost ~160$, and there are no Notifications. And i don't think notifications on wearable devices are "more advanced features". They should be basic feature...

We all are agreed on that.. this is the whole point of this trail and

Is it possible add to the iphone for the whatsapp notification into the next upgrade for Charge 2?

Will really appreciate it, as most people tend to use Whatsapp rather than SMS messages...

I've just bought Charge 2 and it's great. I was searching for universal solution for sports tracking and some business reminders. I really want that charge 2 to have email and social message notifications as it will extendt device capabilities.

In need of Gmail notifications for work, and also more than one app at once, thanks.

Definately vote for this. Give us email notifications for whatever email - just vibrate for the emails younget noted for via phone originally.

It's iOS and Whatsapp, two of the most widely used things on mobile devices all over the world. It's kinda puzzling how this has to be suggested and wasn't a feature at release.

Same, I barely use texts anymore save for a few people, the majority of my messages is via fb messenger and whatsapp
